So over the past 7 years, I've had a few friends come and go, some with a thing for playing Magic. They've left in a hurry or during some dispute, but left behind their belongings. This includes their Magic cards.

Now, I haven't heard from any of these people in over 5 years, so I imagine these cards have been written off as a loss. I'm easy to find if you share a certain IRL friend with me, but these people have made no contact to her or I. SO! Here's what's up.

These are the foils, rares, and uncommons. This will give you a peek into the hardest to find cards that I have. I have about 1200-1500 cards total (including these cards) that I'm trying to get rid of. I'd prefer to do them as one lot instead of picking through them as I don't imagine I have anything SUPA RARE (Black LOLtus), but I might have something you'd be into.

Pardon my description of the series symbol, but I have no freakin' clue where to begin in trying to find the proper name for them.

I should also mention that all the cards are in Very Good (they've been played with and show a little wear on the card's edge and very fine hard to see scuffs [from them being shuffled and played with] are on the cards) to Near Mint (I can't detect any scuffs at any light angle and they show no wear on them) condition, with 2-4 cards with a slight bend crease/unidentifiable dirt (looks like the stuff that sits at the bottom of a highschooler's backpack, the slightly sticky black stuff that clings to anything plastic or slick), and 1 card in Spanish.

With this in mind, I'd like to ask what a fair price for this lot would be. I'm open to suggestions, but I'd like to do something like $.05 to $.25 a card. I've looked a few up and they're at the $.10 to $.45, with one being like $4. So I'm willing to take a hit on the more expensive cards to sell these eyesores and rid my life of them. What ever the price these go for will include shipping. USPS has some awesome flat rate boxes I can splurge for. ;)

So, any interest here? You can PM me or reply here. I'll be checking back.

(Note to Mods and Vek: If this isn't the place to do this, please move it to where it should go. I'd like to donate and I think I found a means to, just have to see if anyone wants them.)

http://gatherer.wizards.com provides any information you need to know about a given card except for current market value. if you want to know the set the cards came from you cane get it there.

Thanks, you two!

I'll have to take some time to try and get all the info together. I'll update my OP when I have it all figured out.

If potential buyers would like a 100% accurate card count, I can do that for you. :)

I'm not looking to buy, but here's some thoughts anyway.

First, for someone unfamiliar with the game, you did a spectacular job explaining the dates/symbols. That can go far in determining the set a specific card is from, as some are printed multiple times, which affects a given card's worth.

Sadly though, none of these cards are actually worth much of anything. Additionally, due to their age very few of them are useable for most tournament play. I've been out of the game for a couple of years now, but I played around the time these sets came out, and I can say that none of the ones you listed were worth more than a dollar in their heyday, sparing a few exceptions. The Sliver Overlord I'll guesstimate to be in the $5 range nowadays. The Magma Sliver might be $2ish. Maybe one or two others would go for around a $1. A lot of the things you've listed though were never notable to begin with, despite them being 'rare,' 'uncommon' or a 'foil.'

Both of the aforementioned websites are good, but if you want to price out cards on an individual basis I really recommend www.cardshark.com

That site centers around people selling singles, not bulk. If you want to sell this as a bulk lot, which is your best bet, I recommend using ebay. Such is pretty common there, as it's a good way to fill out your collection with cards from eras that are out of print, which these '00-'04 cards certainly are. Take a look at what other similarly sized lots are going for. Set a minimum bid with whatever you're comfortable with. As a once-player/collector I would guesstimate the value of your lot to be in the $60-100 range, but again, I've been out of the game for a few years now, which in Magic-years makes me ancient. So, who knows. =)

Good luck.

Heya ADF! Thank you for the link and personal insight!

I was aiming for about $45 for all of them, if I could, estimate is helpful. I know a lot aren't worth much at all, that was the idea for asking so little per card. I did consider ebay, but I'm a noob when comes to being a seller. I might have to change that.

Ebay is a little overwhelming but essentially simple. I've sold once before.

When you go to sell you'll be given a text box just like here, where you can put in your description of what you're selling along with a title. The title is super important, as if it's unclear people will just scroll right past what you're selling. Something along the lines of 'Magic The Gathering '00-'04 card lot 1200-1500+ cards FREE SHIPPING USA' should be fine. You can copy/paste most of your first post here for the bulk of the description, just leave out the personal stuff. And if you can get a picture of the pile, even one will go a long way in getting bids.

When listing on ebay you pay a set fee that's determined before you list. The price varies depending on how long you list it for and what bells and whistles you want to add to your listing, like multiple pictures, video, etcetera. I'd say just put it up for a few days with one picture attached. It shouldn't cost much, a few bucks, but you're paying that whether or not your auction gets any bids.
