James slowly walked down the isle of the DVD’s. Looking at the titles, the 30 year old hadn’t been paying much attention to those around him. A tall well built man, James was looking for something new to watch when he almost bumped into someone. Looking up, “Excuse me…” he said before stopping. Looking at the woman in beside of him, “Sorry…” Moving around her, his eyes continued to drift back to her. Running his eyes up her jean covered legs and over her tight t-shirt, his eyes took in her beautiful auburn hair and green eyes. Stepping a few feet away James completely forgot about the movies as he looked at her out of the corner of his blue eyes. Standing up to his full 6’1, he brushed his fingers through his brown hair as he walked back over to her “Hi. I’m sorry to bother you but I was wondering if you would be interested in going out for drinks. You’re just so beautiful that I would like to get to know you a little better.”

Ariadne slowly milled through the DVDs, her emerald eyes carefully settling on every movie in front of her face. The fifteen-year-old smiled as she picked up Push and Signs and set them gently against her chest. She smiled and pulled her t-shirt down a bit over the waistband of her jeans. Her auburn hair fell down to the top of her back, and she had a sort of joyful smile on her face. She had tonight mostly to herself, since her parents were going out to a concert. She may have a young spirit, but she looked much older than she was. She began walking down the aisle again, and suddenly ran almost head-on into another warm body. She looked up at the man that towered six inches over her, and gave a small smile. She nodded briskly and continued walking. She was contemplating whether or not to get Lean On Me, when the same man came up to her. She looked up at him, and brushed her hair lightly out of her eyes. She slowly smiled. "I suppose so," she said. She wasn't entirely against drinking, but she usually got the non-alchoholic drinks. "I'm Ariadne." She shifted her movies to her left hand to hold out her right hand for him to shake.

Smiling as she introduced herself, James held out his right hand to gently take hers in a hand shake. "Ariadne. It's a pleasure. I'm James. I know this little place that has a great atmosphere. It's just down the block," James said, talking about a little Italian restaurant. Knowing the owners of the restaurant he knew they would get a quiet table where they could talk and get to know each other. Looking at the movies she was holding, he couldn't help but chuckle. "Looks like we have similar taste," he said holding up his copy of Signs, "Have you ever seen it before?"

Ariadne smiled as he took her cold hand in his warm one. She thought about it for a moment and nodded. What harm could going out with a pleasant man like him do, when she had been going to spend the night alone? He didn't look to be that much older than her. She brushed her auburn hair back over her shoulder and smiled when he held up Signs. "Looks like it," she commented. She looked down at the movies in her hand and shook her head. "No, I was going to spend a night by myself watching some movies I'd always wanted to see. But, a little bit of time out would do some good for me." She smiled with beautiful, carefully cared for white teeth. She motioned toward the checkout counter. "Shall we, James?"

"I understand completely. I had planed a night alone watching movies as well," he said wondering if she might like to watch the movies together. Figuring it was a little to soon to ask her back to his place to watch them, James decided to just go with his original idea of drinks and maybe dessert. "Yes please," he smiled as he stepped to her side to walk out. "I think you'll really like the restaurant. I went to flight school with the owners son... I was kind of adopted by the rest of his family," he laughed.

Ariadne smiled gently. "It seems we have quite a bit in common. Movie tastes, a night alone..." She laughed. It was a sweet, gentle laugh. She nodded and walked over to the counter, pulling out the movie card to rent the movies. She glanced over at him. "Flight school?" she asked. She nodded. "It's always good to have a second family around for you." She laughed again, and then waited for him to get his movies. "How far is the restaurant? I just walked here from my house, so I don't have my car." She was trying to sound older. Really, she's just gotten her permit, and, since her parents were out, she was left with walking from place to place.

"I think we have a few things in common. Sad that one of them is spending the night alone..." James smiled as she laughed. He had to admit that he loved her sweet laugh. "Yeah. I'm a pilot. I fly for the news when they need it. Other then that I give lessons to help offset my income." Nodding, "It helps to have a second family. Mine live out of state so I don't get to see them to much." Paying for his rental, "The restaurant is just down the block. We can walk there without any problem. If you want we can leave the video's in my car until we get back."
