It was getting dark out and the forest was in a busy state that was rare for the quiet forest. There were the sounds of barking dogs and a soft found of running feet from a small girl who looked young wrapped in a red sateen sheet. She was running as fast as she could from the dogs chancing her but it was not getting her far for her bear feet capt catching on sharp sticks and roots on the forest floor.

Her old master was not going to let her go so easily he would get her back or so he thought. As long as she stayed in his forest his dogs would chance her and bring her home. The bad thing for her master was that the mouse was heading straight for the end of the forest. Soon the young mouse demon ran right into someone else in the forest and it made her fall backwards as she looked up at the figure that seemed to almost be a wall in her way. She noticed he was human and let out a small squeak before running the other way.

As she ran away from the human she halted as she saw the dogs closing in. Nena was stuck between going back to her master and being punished or going to the human with hopes that he would help her. After a second of thought she turned to the human and ran over to him only to hide behind him.

Ichika was doing his daily 5 mile road work. He had skipped it in the morning so he added another extra mile to make up for it. He was breathing steady despite the amount of sweat he showed. He wore a hooded sweater, no sleeved attached, warm pants and black running shoes. You could hardly see his face in the growing darkness.

Then the unexpected happen while on his forest route, a girls bumps into him and she falls in front of him. He didn't knew who this girl was but before he could offer his help or apologize she ran away. And just as fast, she came running back and hid behind him. "Whoa missy, what is all the big commotion about?" she was really frightened but he didn't had to wait for an answer. The dogs showed up in front of him in seconds. He looked at them all and nodded his head in disappointment. He place a hand on her shoulder and walked towards the dogs.

"A true Man, doesn't walk away when a pretty girl is in danger." He said and removed his hood. he had long black hair tied in a ponytail and sharp hawk-like eyes. "If you wanna get to her, you gotta pass by me first. Come on!" He bent his knees slightly and brought his arms up to his chest for defense. The creatures rushed at him. His form... it was boxing, and such strength and swiftness. He held his own and was able to make them flee... for now. He was left covered in claw marks and a bite wound to his left arm. He turns around, with a smile he does a victory pose for her as he raises his right fist in the air.

Nena's short black hair and large mouse ears were hidden under the red satten sheet she had covering all her body other then the bottom of her pail legs and her bare feet that were dirty and had cuts on them from the harsh forest ground. She was scared of both being with the human and seeing the dogs infront of her. She new one of them had to win but she was not sure if either of them were good to go to.

She looked up at the human as he placed his strong hand on her small covered shoulder. She was shivering from being cold and scared who new what she was wering under the sheet around her frail body. Nena watched as the man walked towards the dogs who did not back down and she listened to his voice as he got into a fighting stance.

The dog rushed him trying to get through him to get to the mouse girl but by the end of it the dogs ran away for now. She new they could not win and to many of them were hurt now so they had to have a plan to get to the mouse who ran away. When the human turned and did a victory pose Nena backed away scared not knowing what he was going to do to her. She did not know if this ment she was safe around him or not. She noticed that he was hurt from saving her from the dogs so she slightly relaxed thinking he was safe to be with but she was still unsure.
 
Ichika signed her not to leave. "Wait a second, it is alright I'm not gonna hurt you." He didn't want to approach her and scare her even more but she didn't look to well. "Your hurt," he was looking at her and it was cruel, having chased this girl so far that her feet were full of cuts, "let me help you. My name is Ichika." he said honestly trying to aid her. He introduced himself to her as a step to relax her and get closer to her.

He stares at the rest of her, even with the covers he could tell she was a frail girl. "Your tired right. Why don't you come to my place, you can rest there? At the very least we should treat those cuts first." He sighs lightly, he didn't knew if he was getting to her or not. He turned his back to her and got on his knees "Get on." Was he offering to carry her on his back... "Don't get me wrong, I'm not doing this specially for you, I just can't turn away and leave you all alone here, right. Besides the dogs could come back."
 
Nena stopped but she held the sheet around her body more. She was scared though the dogs were gone she new they would come back looking for her. "Ichika" It had been the first thing she had said near him. Her voice was soft and it showed that she was warn out and out of breath from running so much. She was not sure what to do but he seemed to be nice and seemed to want to help so she wanted to trust him though anything was better then going back to her master.

She thought about what he was saying as he spoke about going back to his place. At the mention of cuts she looked down at her hurting feet. she did want them taken care of. when she looked back up he was on his knees with his back to her. She moved towards him and got into his back still with the sheet around her body. "Thank you" she whispered softly.
 
She was surprisingly light. What he expected from her small and frail body. "Hold on to me... " he said as he grabbed her legs at each side and carried her home, "say... your body is quite tender as well." He wondered all the way, what could anyone gain by chasing such a cute girl.

The night was getting even more cold. As they arrived home, both of them, Ichika walked inside and set her down on the bed. "Well its not much but your welcome to stay as long as you like. hold on a second, I'll get some bandages and ointment for cuts." Not much was right, the place was small just holding the bare minimals. Aside from the futon and a small coffee table, the rest was part of the complex, bathroom, kitchen, and a closet.

He returned with a moist rag to clean her feet first. "This may sting a little, bare with it." Ichika took her feet and placed the rag against it, as gentle as possible to wipe the dirst and blood on it before he applied the medicine. Well that was done all she needed was rest. He remained by her side on the bed. "Sorry I know your tired but can you explain what went on tonight? Why don't we start with your name."
 
Nena held on as he stood up and started to walk home. She laid her head down on his shoulder as she let him carry her away. Nena was happy to be off her feet though she still had the sheet wrapped around her body it was the only thing keeping her even a little warm.

When they got to his place she looked at the building and then watched as she was carried in and to the bed. When set down she held the sheet tight again and watched him well looked at the room seeing how plain it seemed. She was used to a huge house with lots of things in it though she was kept in a cage never to touch anything but she still sow everything around her.

Nena did not react at all as her feet were cleaned and the medicine was put on them. She was use to pain she had been put in pain many times for disobeying her master and she new pain was the least of her worries if taken back to her master. When he talked to her she watched him and listened then said "My name is Nena" She looked down at the bed then said "I ran away from my master so he sent the dogs after me." She explained all while the sheet covered her head and body only leaving some of her legs and feet and face for Ichika to see.
 
Ichika sat silent at her side, listening, with the occasional nod from his head. Once she was done talking, he took a few minutes to think about what she said. "Ok, I believe you. You don't seem like your making this up and the dogs, they were pretty real," he said as he looked at his arm with the bite on it.

"Oh don't worry about this, Its nothing really, just a flesh wound." He hide his arm behind him. "Nena, was it? That is a pretty name... " he lays his hand on her shoulders, "your welcome to stay and hide here as long as you want. But its late, you should sleep now, tomorrow we can talk some more." He stood up on his own and walked to the closet. He looked around and found what he looked for at the back. He fought a bit to get it out but finally took a big warm blanket out... and some adult magazines he had stashed back there as well.

He looked at them, many were opened and showing contents, one two three seconds... "Ahh!" He hastly tried to pick them all up before she got a clear look at what they were. Finally he got them all back and put them away in the closet again. He handed the blanket, "sorry, don't pay to much attention to that." He took seat next to the wall in front of her, and looked like he was going to sleep in that spot. Certainly strange... a young man living alone, a young girl staying at his place, no one knows that she is there... and he makes no move on her!?
 
Nena listened to what Ichika was saying about her not making this up all she could think was 'of coarse im not' but she did not say that she just watched him then noticed the hurt arm and gasped "Your hurt that should be taken care of. You should not neglect wounds or they scare." She seemed to know that well.

"Flesh wounds still need tending." Nena said as she watched him. She was happy she had a place to hide but she was scared to stay knowing the dogs would fallow her soon enough she just hoped it would not be for a little while. Nena looked at the magazines that fell and it made her smile a little as she got a look at a very sexual picture in one.

Nena watched as Ichika quickly tried to get the magazines cleaned up. She then watched and took the blanket as she watched him sit on the floor. "Your not sleeping down there are you?" She asked then said "You should be sleeping on the bed. i don't mind." She still had the red sheet tight around her body as she watched him trying to get him to sleep with her.
