Everyone had seen those movies, the ones with the mad scientists that had gone through such extreme measures to create life. Their experiments all seemed so outrageous and yet it left viewers waiting in anticipation to see if they would succeed. That was then, and this is now, but there just so happened to be someone that fit that position. Dr. Knox was a brilliant scientist that had made many breakthrough discoveries in his life, such as finding the cures for seemingly incurable diseases, or more useful treatments for cancers. Many awards had been given to this intelligent man for his discoveries and he had recently taken part in yet another experiment, one that would prove to be a rather infamous experiment indeed. The test subjects: a couple of stray cats found on the streets. The experiment: transformation. This was an experiment that had received lots of criticism, mainly with animal cruelty being an issue. However, the funds were given and the experiment continued. The experimnts went on for a few days, but an issue soon arose. Upon returning to the lab one day, the subjects were missing, apparantly they had escaped. Dr. Knox was blamed for this incident, and due to the waste in government funds, the experiment was cancelled and he was put in jail...
A few days after the news had come in, people had already begun to forget about the incident. The big hero had been the the spotlight long enough, and everyone went along with their daily lives. The noises of the city had started to die down, and the air was filled with the sounds and smells of the falling rain. It was really pouring this time, and there weren't very many people outside. Anyone who was out in this weather was sure to get a cold or worse. In a dark alley next to an apartment complex, the faints mews of two stray cats could be heard. the poor creatures had tried to find shelter from the rain in a cardboard box, which served as temporary shelter. After all, the rain had already begun to drip through the cardboard. Their fur was soaked and they were hungry, having gone a few days without food already.
