Matt's vision was blurry. His state of consciousness was probably not the best either. He struggled to opened his eyes, as he felt mild pain equally distributed throughout his entire body still. There was something wrong with him as he woke up though, he could not feel his legs, and that was just it. He remembered the news, the accident, the week that had been hell, for him as much as for his family. As he woke up, sunlight from the outside radiated in a wholesome way, as if trying to say that good things were yet to come. Matt didn't want to believe it, he was still somewhat down because of all of this.
It was going to be a big change. All for doing stupid things over a skateboard with his friends. He tossed the thought aside, he knew that if he wanted to continue, he'd have to push himself into better thoughts. After talking with the doctor and his family, he maturely came to the conclusion that this was not the end, and that life continued, probably as great as ever. He managed to smile now, as he looked outside and saw two birds playing with each other in the air.
And sure, there were things to smile about too. His doctor said that he had been a lucky boy to still live, the accident could have easily erased him from the face of earth, also, none of his friends were damaged by it, except for a few broken bones. All of them had passed by too, to show their support and to help him on. Today was the first day that his head did not hurt, and today was the day he could start eating once more. His father had informed him that he had hired a nurse for him too, and she was going to start today. He took a deep breathe as he looked out the window of his personal room. He did not care to watch T.V. at all today, he preferred to watch the birds fly.
