Simon had gotten himself in trouble again. He seemed to have a real knack for that though. He had managed to work a bit of literal magic to get out of the worst of it but they had his exit blocked... and that meant he only had one option available to him. He would have to move through the faemarch. So once he was out of sight and hidden from them he worked a bit of magic to open the proper sort of door. He then slipped through into a realm that most people in this day in age did not even know was real.
HE made his way quickly through the strange land he had entered letting the door he had conjured close behind him. He knew the paths to get him home quickly and without trouble. At least that is what he had thought, the commotion up ahead that blocked his way was thus quite a surprise. IT looked to be several goblins accousting some sort of Fae. He could not make out much about the Fae but in the end that did not matter.
He had always thought himself to be one of the good guys and so he waved his hand and muttered a phrase under his breath causing several crackling orbs roughly the size of a plum. EAch orb struck one of the goblins and then shattered in a flash scattering small arcs of what seemed to be lightning over the goblins even as it sent them flying from the Fae they had been attacking and howling in pain. The largest of them reared up and in a louder voice and with a different phrase Simon thrust his hand forward and this time a clearly defined bolt of lightning lanced forth to strike the large beast in the chest sending him flying and leaving a sizable chunk of his chest missing. That was enough to scare the others off.
As tired as Simon was it also never occurred to him that he had just saved a Sidhe, and by their law that meant they owed him a debt equal to the value of what he had given... in this case their life. He was to tired to think of such things and using even more magic had only made that fatigue worse. A short time later he was conjuring a second doorway and stepping into his secure basement laboratory with a sigh of relief. He had no idea just who or what would soon make their own way to him.
