As a parent, this hits me like you wouldn't believe. I start crying when the 2nd verse plays. I love how the view point changes from selfish to selfless and how the parent gives up their dream only to make it so that their child realizes the dream they couldn't have. Sort of that.... parents want for the kids what they couldn't have. XD

*gets sappy and cries*

I also love how the chorus changes meaning once that 2nd verse plays.... there goes my life.... life no longer meaning his, but his daughter... his life. Shit..... *cries for real*
 
I don't really have songs that make me cry, because I've found I have trouble crying lol. >>; But some to get me emotional, maybe shaking or just make me think a lot.

Hmmm... Concrete Angel by Martini McBride always makes me cry without fail, and the titanic song and Arms of an Angel
 
I 100% agree about travis Tritt Tell me I was dreaming.

There's a lot for me I will post back with more of mine. At least, songs that I have cried to over the years even if they don't at the moment.

One of my best friends had the lyrics "A Bleeding Heart Can Conquer every Crutch" tattooed on his arm and those lyrics came from this song. He is no longer here on this earth and every time I hear this song I cry because it reminds me of him and I miss him so much.

this is an excellent song, although it does not make me cry, I can understand how it would for you. a powerful story.
