"She's going for it again?"
"Seriously? I thought she would have done it by now."
"So much for being a great priestess."
Celestine frowned, doing her best to ignored the painful words of the other girls as she made her way through the village. Maybe it wouldn't have hurt to much if this was her second time or the third, but no, this was the sixth. The sixth time she was going to try and do this! What exactly? Well, summon a familiar. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary in the country of Nedolg, oh no, it was the quite the opposite. Every girl at the age of seventeen was required to summon a familiar. It didn't matter how strong the demons were or even where they came from, as long as the girl completed the task successfully. So it was almost expected that Celestine would be teased and made fun of for not completing the task. It was a right of passage that she had yet to fulfill, not only that, but because she was suppose to be so much better than everyone. It wasn't the expectations of her parents or anything, not every her family, but instead that of her country.
The young girl was the daughter of the Alteil, or the countries holy woman, Crystal Mist. The woman was legendary, she had been the strongest priestess the country had ever seen. She was their protector, their friend, and at times, their savior. She lived as such and she had died as such, but when she had died she left her daughter the titled she carried, the Alteil, at a rather young age. The girl was only eight when her mother passed. Since then she had been constantly drilled by the priests at the local temple. She had been trained in magic, the bible, the religions of others, history, it had all been quite tedious but at some times worth it. She was without a doubt the strongest magic user in the country but for some reason she couldn't summon a simple demon! What kind of crap was that?
"Doesn't matter what they say, I'll get it this time...." Celestine murmured the words to herself softly as she walked down a dirt trail that went straight through the village. At the end, which required about a thirty minute walk through a forest, was a dainty looking stone house. It looked normal. A beautiful guardian in the front, a clear crystal pond only a few feet away from the front door, a horse stable on the other side though it was currently empty of houses. A pretty house for a pretty girl, or so she had been told, and the girl was rather pretty. Celestine stood at about 5'3, yes she was rather short but she didn't really care, with a pretty little milk chocolate hourglass frame. Her body was shaped like that of an hourglass, perfectly shaped and curved in all the right places. She had a rather prominent 36D bust and a rather round backside. Her eyes were the color of amber and hair white as snow, falling down to her hips in waves. She wore nothing but a simple sun dress that fell to her knees, her feet bare.
Walking inside the girl would head straight to the back of the home to a darkened room, shutting the door behind her. The room was windowless, nothing but candles lit the large space that was filled with nothing but books and chalk. The floor was filled with various alchemy circles, old blood spots in some, others might have been a little more fresh. "It'll work this time, I know it will." The girl would get to work, taking a seat on the floor and beginning to draw the required symbols. It took fifteen, maybe twenty minutes before the girl had everything finished. The drawing, the ingredients, all but one thing. 'I really hate this part...'. She would sigh mentally, grabbing a knife only a few feet away, dragging the sharp edge across her fingers. She would wince, watching the blood drip down her finger before she placed it in the center of the glowing circle, letting the substance drip down onto the white substance that filled the center of the circle, watching it glow an eerie blue to a bloody red. Well that was certainly different from last time. Hopefully that was a good thing.
