The Village of Shin was one of the smaller villages of the Earth Kingdom. Chen was a 17 year old earthbender. He stood about 5'10, well built being an earth bender. He's very tan and has green eyes and black hair that hangs messily to his shoulders. He wears no shoes, long kahki gi-like pants and a green tunic with long kahki colored sleeves with earth kingdom emblem on the back and the whole ensamble was trimmed in gold. He also has green leather ankle and wrist bands and most often time sports a conical straw hat, especially when outside. On this sunny day he sat on a nice stone seat he had bended for himself next to the river. This river sat right next to the main road. He sat there humming softly holding a fishing pole with his line in the water. He loved his life. This was all he did, bend earth, and fish.

It had been a long day so far but the weather was very pleasant and nice, Perfect for traveling long distances. Miyu smiled cheerfully as she walked through the road leading to this new village that she had yet to get to. From what she had heard of the village in the previous town she was at, Shin was a quiet and peaceful place with a variety of people and mostly farmers and fishermen. As she neared the village, she heard chirping and thrilling in her bag. She reached inside and took out a small nest ball and opened the top so two long-tailed little hamsters could slip out and jump onto her shoulders. Miyu smiled as they both sniffed at her hair or licked at her cheeks. "You guys were sleeping a while in there...Must have been tired. " She said before they started to walk to the entrance of the village.

As soon as they went into the village, she saw a cart of fruit a vendor was selling and the two hamsters, yen and Jiao, ran over to the cart and began to rummage through it, eating some of the smaller fruit. "YEN! JIAO!! Don't do that!" She shouted as she tried to catch them in the nest ball.

Chen smiled and gave the girl a friendly nod as she walked past. She looked water tribe-ish. Wans't uncommon to see travelers through these parts. Some people even claim Fire Lord Zuko even passed through here once during his exile. He looked up towards the sun. It was lunch time. He generally went to visit Song, and older woman who sold her husbands fruit he grew from a cart. He would trade her half his fish from the day and she would give him fruit, water, and sometimes even a sandwhich she made from home. Depending on how the fishing went she somtimes got two to three, or upwards of over a dozen on a daily basis, so it always evened out as fair trade.

When Chen got to the cart there was the watertribe girl with what looked like two rats going crazy and worrying poor Song. He set down his rod and tackle box and snatched the two creatues out of the cart and held them both by the scruffs of their necks looking at them. He turned to the girl. "Do these little fella's belong to you miss?" he turned to the older lady "Good news Song, good catch today, the salmon are finally back"

Miyu was going crazy trying to catch the two hamsters, it had been a while since she had been able to feed them and herself so it was a bit understandable that they were going crazy due to the fruit that looked yummy. When the man caught the two hamsters, she sighed in relief and held up the nest ball, the two hamsters going inside and looking ashamed of themselves. "Yea...Thank you." She then turned to the older woman and bowed repeatedly in an apologetic manner, saying all sorts of apologies to the lady. "I'm so sorry ma'am! Please forgive me! I didn't know they would react this way. I don't have much but I'll do what I can to pay for the fruit they ate or ruined!" She then reached into her bag and grabbed out a little money pouch. Inside there were only two coins, probably not enough for anything Yen and Jiao ruined. "I'm...I'm sorry... I don't have much but, I'll work for you and do anything you may need to pay it off that way!" She said as she bowed once more and stayed bent over.

He nodded. " Your very welcome." He had caught the hamsters easily, earthbending being all about waiting and knowing when to strike, he watched and waited for the hamsters to eat before he snatched them up. He picked out the few pieces of fruit the hampsters had gotten to and gave them to the girl. "Here ya go, you might at well keep these. "

He reached out and picked the fruit he wanted and set it on the counter of the womans cart. "Here's what I want today." He placed a small bucket of fish on the ground next to the cart where the woman could get it and pack it up before she left. She pulled out a small sandwhich she had also prepared for him. "Here you go chen" He paid for the ruined fruit and told the woman to keep the change. He then looked to the girl. "So my name is Chen." He held out his hand to her. "Would you like to come to my house for some tea? " He gave her a friendly smile

Miyu held onto the ruined fruit that he had given her and she looked at the older woman, who nodded, and she put the fruit in a cloth before putting it into her bag. As he paid for the fruit, she looked at the man and blushed a bit from embarrassment of being helped out monetarily. "Uhh... Thank you so much, Chen..." She smiled nervously then scratched the back of her head. "I'd love to, that sounds really nice. I haven't had tea in a while." She said as she grabbed onto his hand and shook it gently. "I'm Miyu, from the northern water tribe."

Chen nodded. "Dont worry about it. Im sure your pets will enjoy the fruit. I always love to help someone in need." He shook Miyus hand and then waved goodbye to the lady at the cart and picked up all his belongings and started down the road, still speaking to Miyu. "Wow the Northern Water Tribe huh? Your a good ways away from home arent you?"

"Thank you anyways...I'm glad that someone is nice enough to hel-" She stopped abruptly because of him grabbing her hand but she took a deep breath and relaxed before waving to the lady as well and following him. "It's part of my training really...I had to beg quite a bit but I was finally allowed to travel on my own to train myself or have people help me." She explained, hoping he wouldn't connect the dots too much.
