Music quietly played in the background of the house, a small two bedroom with plush carpeting. Nothing fancy, but it was still comfortable. A young woman paced around the living room, her dark blonde hair bound up on her head in a messy bun, with a few slightly curly bunches of hair spiraling against her ears and down the back of the bun. Her skin was pale with a slight kiss of tan. Her face was oval in shape, the most striking feature being her large green eyes, flecked through with a few sparks of hazel and gold. She was wearing a dark green halter top and jeans, her feet bare and leaving impressions in the carpet as she paced.
Her name was Lilian Barrow, and she was finally going to get her new pet today. She had spent weeks researching on the internet how to properly care for this sort of species. She had a room outfitted for him to sleep in, and a large fridge stocked with the necessary meats to keep him healthy. She had avoiding telling her friend exactly what she was waiting for, only hinting that it was a specialty animal. None of them pushed it further, being well aware that she wouldn't answer.
Lilian took a deep breath and stood still, calming herself down. She smiled when the doorbell finally rang, and stepped briskly over to the door, opening it with a smile on her face. She greeted the delivery man, and took the clipboard, slowly looking over it. Finding everything matching her specifications, she signed and returned the paper. Lilian stepped back and waited eagerly for him to be brought in, clasping her hands in front of her and fidgeting slightly.
