As usual Jiang Xu's profession led him to places he hated. Jiang was an elemental mage of sorts, though that wasn't the profession that led him to these marshlands. On top of being a mage, Jiang had a love for apothecary; creating them, not ingesting them. Although these horrid wetlands were crawling with snakes, spiders, and various other things that scared the living shit out of him, it was also home to lotus flowers. The last ingredient Jiang needed to create a new batch of anti-venom had been lotus flower seeds. The downside of this was, he was out of anti-venom in a place that he might just need it more than ever.

The day pressed on and things seemed to be going fine. He had already gathered more than enough seeds to last a while. It was going great. Problem is, all good things seem to always come to an end; which was exactly the case here. Before he even had a chance to attack, a venomous snake sprung from within the grass and struck his wrist before retreating into the water and leaving Jiang for dead. The closest place that he knew was near him was a city probably an hour away and he had none of his supplies. Perhaps there could be a nearby village or something that wasn't marked on his map? Regardless, Jiang doubted he was going to make it out of this alive.

Xu Wei was wiling about his time in the monastery working on keeping it clean. His hair was tied back to keep it out of his eyes as he plucked weeds out of their self-contained garden. He looked rather serene in his monk robes, dark hair meshing well with his tanned skin and the rather colorful monks robe. Of course the colors were just a dark red and some oranges, but monks were never known for their outrageous choices of clothing.

There was a bit of a commotion at the gate, something Xu Wei was a bit unconcerned with as there was no call for warriors. Sadly, there had been a few commotions recently that had been caused by some wandering (and rather disruptive) spirits. It was thus most likely a traveler of some kind. Xu Wei kept upon his job, working for several hours until his hands were covered in the green marks of ripping up grass.

After his light lunch Xu Wei was given the job of taking care of the new arrival that had come into the temple, someone it said who had been bitten by a snake. Xu Wei made his way to the building where their guest was being taken care of and checked out the guest they had.

Xu Wei was startled for a little bit before calming down and getting to his duties. He pulled a wet cloth out of a container of water before lightly pressing it to his brother's forehead, wiping away the sweat that had come to him. From the information he had gathered his brother had been treated as best he could be and should recover. It wouldn't be a completely painless recovery, of course, but the monks would be there to tend to him at least.

As usual when venom was pulsing through a persons veins the result was a loss of consciousness along with an extremely high fever. Fortunately, Jiang was used to it. During his earlier years of working as a travelling apothecary he had been exposed to many venoms; this was the first time ever that he didn't have anti-venom on hand though so if it wasn't for the group of monks that found him he would probably be dead by now. For this he was very grateful.

Slowly Jiang regained consciousness; moments later he wished to be out again as the pain was horrible. The sweat only increased now that he felt all of the pain. His once clean complexion and neatly groomed dark hair were now very oily from the sweat. His once white and mottled grey robes were stained with the colors of the mud in the marsh he passed out in. He was in so much pain he didn't even notice that his brother was there wiping up the sweat, hell he didn't even notice that there was a cold cloth against his forehead.

((Sorry if it isn't much, or much to work with. I am having difficulty thinking currently.))

Xu Wei wiped off all the sweat and stayed by his brother's side to watch him. Eventually he lifted his brother up to a leaning position and had him drink, the swallowing reflexes stimulated by touching various points of Xu Jiang's body. Afterwards he was laid back down and once again wiped over to keep his temperature down as best it could be and to keep him rather clean.

There was a part of Xu Wei's mind that wondered when his brother would awaken and if he would be lucid. It was calming to take care of him at least, it wasn't talking about their pasts and their choices of different lives, if choice could really be applied to Xu Wei since he was sent off to live with the monks because his family couldn't afford to pay for him and the rest of the siblings at the end. Xu Wei had long ago stopped being as bitter as he was before, but there was still that small bit of anger at it.

He was beginning to feel a lot better, a lot of the pain and suffering he felt from the poison seemed to be from the dehydration because whatever it was that he drank seemed to be helping a whole lot. Slowly but surely, the pain dulled down and Jiang was finally able to calm himself. His vision also began to clear. Whoever his saviors were, he was grateful.

"W-who's there?" He spoke in a low, weak voice. His strength was still wavering due to how the poison had affected his muscles. It would probably take him a while to recover completely, a week or two at minimum. On top of that, he would probably need to go through some sort of rehabilitation to allow his muscles to heal properly. This was going to be the longest two weeks of his life, though nowhere near as painful as it was on him to lose his brother Xu Wei when they were just children.

((Kinda sucks, but I at least managed to pull something out. Sorry it isn't much))

Xu Wei gave a somewhat surprised look when his brother started waking up, "I am brother Wei of the Seven Bead Guardians temple. Our members found you close to the gate with a fever and what was later discovered to be a snake bite, so you were brought inside so we could treat you. I have been tasked with keeping you healthy and strong enough to fight off the poison for the time being. Is there anything I can get for you or do for you?"

Xu Wei didn't really expect his brother to recognize him through the haze of poison. There was a chance he would, but that wasn't going to end up ruining everything. Xu Wei placed the cool cloth back on his brother's forehead, rubbing it lightly, "If you can, sir, could you perhaps tell me your name? It is much better than just calling you 'The Apothecary.'"
