I LOVE writing, especially poetry. So I think I'll go ahead and post a few here.

Sanctuary

My sanctuary;
a haven from the noise
of life's grinding gears.

A portal
to my own world
where everything is right.

In here,
the air is clean and crisp
and the moon's always full.

Stars shimmer
as dragons take wing
and elves sing ancient lullabies.

The unicorns
bed down for the night
as the wolves begin their hunt.

Tiny fae
light up the woods
leading weary travelers home.

A chime-
the midnight bell tolls
and all is calm.

In this world,
my mind can rest
and let my heart run free.

Sea and Sky

Today I am sea green,
like the ocean after a terrible storm-
calm on the surface,
but still troubled down below.

But tomorrow I might be blue,
like the sky during a bright spring day-
happy and carefree,
optimistic with an open heart and mind

But today I'm sea green. Maybe tomorrow I'll be blue...maybe.

Out,
into a world of white
where snowflakes dance
in the sky.

Out,
into a world of cold,
where harsh winds
race across the land.

Out,
into a barren world,
where people are few
and far between.

Out,
into a winter world,
where frost covered creatures
dream of spring.
