Anna knelt by her brother, fear filled her green eyes and she could feel herself shaking. She knew she should scream, but her voice was stuck. Blood was on her hands and she glanced down at her brother's bleeding form. Dear God, she thought as she looked back up, I'm going to die.
The creature that had attacked her brother was advancing slowly towards her. It looked like a large wolf, but it was hard to tell in the light. Anna felt like she was suspended in air, like the creature had already seized her and cut off her senses. Then there was a snap of a twig and she was thrust back in to reality. A terrified scream left her lips as she closed her eyes and hugged her brother. She knew they both were going to die.

A few hours later and Anna was sitting in a hospital room, a blanket wrapped around her and a cup of coffee in her hands. She didn't know what had happened, but it appeared the creature had left after she had screamed. Her brother had still gotten hurt though.
She raised a hand and put it on his. She prayed he woke up, that he would be okay. The police had asked her a few questions, but they figured it was simply a wolf. They were curious as to why her and her brother were out this late in the first place. It wasn't her fault her brother was trying to cheer her up after a fight with her friend. That's what she told herself anyways. She laid her head down and tried to sleep, but she knew she wouldn't be able to, not until he woke up.
