Tanya couldn't take the grin off her face as she drove down the empty road heading out of town, her eyes darting between the road and the ever closer trail of smoke they were headed towards, totally ignoring her younger sister in the passenger seat that she had dragged along. Tanya was currently in college, studying towards her PhD in Genetics, she was working on projects involving genetic manipulation, though her scientific curiosity extended into other areas aswell, which was what brought her out here tonight. Whilst stargazing, something she often did to relax and think, Tanya had spotted what almost seemed like a shooting star, but had turned out to be some kind of meteorite or something crashing down from space. Fortunately they lived in a relatively small town so nobody else seemed to have noticed the event.
"Ok, we're here!" Tanya suddenly pulled into a field, driving through the grass until they got near to a crater, immediately, and suddenly, stopping the car and climbing out, moving toward the crater, though not quite the edge. "Hmmm.....still warm, but not burningly hot..." Tanya nodded, immediately pulling out her notebook and beginning to scribble things down. "Now to wait for the smoke to clear and we can get a better look...." She smirked, then glanced back at the car where her sister still was. "Hey! Get your ass out here and take a look at this will you?"
