The Museum of World History had just opened its newest exhibit, showcasing a number of artifacts that had been discovered during an archaeological dig near the southern end of Greece. A wide assortment of things had been discovered, from stacks of coins and amphorae to well-preserved wall paintings, to one of the biggest finds displayed in the exhibit--the oversized bracers and sandals that belonged to a lesser-known legendary figure, a powerful yet wild warrior. The information on the signs and guides noted that, though the bracers and sandals were made as if to fit on someone, they were more likely used as decorative embellishments to a statue of the legendary warrior. They didn't lend any evidence as to whether this hero really had existed or not.
Real or not, Aleksandros was interested in it all. No one really called him that, though--to everyone he knew, he was Alex. His dark, mottled brown and black coat hinted at his Mediterranean heritage, the wolf in him mixed with a little jackal and some African painted dog too. He walked into the large, open room where the exhibit was being shown with a slight grin on his face. History was always interesting to him, so he loved to come to the museum. This time, he had managed to convince his friend to come along with him, so that they could both get a look at the exhibit.
"Woah, look at all the coins," Alex said, heading for the first display case in the room, one with all the coins they had found laid out by size. "I bet you could have bought a temple with all of this money." He looked up at his friend with a smile on his face, hoping that he was enjoying himself.
