Angela muttered beneath her breath - a brow arching as she looked at the book before her. It had been redone and put in a leather bound notebook, but it had originally been on something else. The passage she was ready - trying to decipher - was in very old Latin. A course she was taking in school. The process was long and difficult - some words smudged, but she finally got the passage rewritten. The woman leaned back - looking at her desk. Twenty-Four, and in college for the sixth year. She was doing well in her courses.

She was of a slim figure, tall (about 5'9'') and of a musculature similar to a dancers. She was compact in her muscles, but well rounded in her curves. Usually told she was beautiful and needed to take care of her looks more. She didn't care much on them - considering she wore baggy t-shirts and jeans almost all the time. Then there was her glasses. She always wore those.

She sat up and rubbed her eyes - under her glasses. She had been working on this passage for two weeks. Her roommate had left for three weeks, while she worked on the plans to move out of their shared apartment. Angela reached up and pulled her hair fro, its braid. Shaking out the waist length dirty blond hair. She ran her fingers through it and muttered - her eyes staring at the ceiling. Her eyes were interesting - green at the pupil and dark brown on the outside. Most got very interested at that. It was the reason she had to wear glasses, as the dark brown was actually gold - and she was going slowly blind.

She stood up and picked up the passage she had deciphered. Muttering under her breath and then collecting herself. As she always did with pieces of work - she read them aloud so she could memorize them. She just learned that way. She closed her eyes and gathered her thoughts for the cadence of the passage. Then she began the say it in a light voice, saying the words clearly. The repeated this three times - as that's the best way to learn things, repetition. She continued this for nearly fourty minutes, oddly interested as to why the words seemed like incantations for summoning something.

Weird.

From her roommate's old room a soft sound tickled the air. It sounded as though glass harmonicas were being played from a mile away. Upon the ground, the faint outlines of a circle can be seen, as well as a few lines etched into the ground.

A soft glow shimmered on the floor with your first incantation. A simple outline along the ground following the circle, a white-violet light that trickled from the ground. It was barely visible; not even there if one were bit looking right at it. With each repetition of the verse, the light grew, a line added to the rune.

Soon, light flooded from the room. The scene absurd to passers-by, seeming as though a lighthouse's lamp were shining out the window. As she finished the incantation, the room grew dark. The smell of dry heat grew, as the rune was burned into the ground.

Laying at the center of the rune was a form. It was quite human by first glance. In the darkness, one could make out a strong, slender figure, with a head of spiked hair, two curling, small horns against the figure's forehead. From behind, a thin, whip-like tail came from his spine, ending in a diamond flap of flesh, looking like the head of a crop.

His breathing was shallow at first, before his eyes snapped open. His eyes were as smoke, pouring from a burning building's window, yet eerily luminescent. He struggled to stand, attempting to get his bearings in the darkness, holding still, and listening to the movements of his surroundings. He crouched a bit, one hand on the ground, ready to strike if needed.

Angela turned, as she read, and when she finished she just stood there. A smile on her face, the room was dimly lit - as it was nearly the twilight hour. She had spent so long learning how to decipher this, spent so long figuring it out. She had memorized it, and rolled the words in her mind. Then she heard the shuffle - and then she turned towards the sound of the noise. Her eyes narrowing as she arched a brow. There was someone in her room - how the hell had it happened?

She stepped back, crouching a little as she looked at the figure. She saw spiked hair, and something like a tail. What in the name of all that was good and right was happening. "What in the Hell...." She muttered as she stepped back. Towards the door of her office. She was wondering what was going on. She growled as she stepped back to her door. For some reason her mind was very scared. She had no idea why either. Its ok, just wake up. You fell asleep while studying.. She whispered to herself mentally as she stepped back again.

She counseled herself and tried to convince herself that she was asleep. She NEEDED TO wake up. She was actually getting scared now. She had no idea why.

In the instant that she opened the door, he had taken in your form. He smiled gently, straightening out his form. His steps were soft and silent, aware of his presence within this room. He had to be silent, and gain the upper hand quickly.

I'll be damned if I leave here without my fill...

The door opened just enough for him to slip out, as he looked about the main hallway. His ears perked up, as he caught the the tail end of her whisper. He stepped to the door of her office, pressing his ear against it.

A tense few moments pass, his patience waning, as he takes a few steps back, letting his movements be obviously heard as he moves away from the door, only to retake his position just outside. Who was to know how close this girl's friends, or loved ones were.

Best to play this safe...

The house had a deadly silence to it as she sat down at her desk. She pressed her forehead to the cool wood there and took a few steadying breaths. She had been awake for three days now - it was sleep deprivation., had to be. Or she really was asleep, but if she was really asleep - then what the hell was going on. Why couldn't she wake up? Seriously - why couldn't she wake up.

She stood up then and grabbed up her letter opener. If this was a dream it was turning into a nightmare and she needed to be armed. She absolutely needed to be armed. She shivered a little as her hand rested on the door handle. Her eyes closing for a moment as she turned the knob. Her eyes opened wide as she yanked the door open.

She jumped then and stabbed down, whoever was in her house was an invader. Which meant they were a threat, and she was not going to handle them being there. They would have to go - and they were definitely invading her personal space. Especially when they had a tail. What was this 'Higurashi?'.

Her action was swift, and sure. The blow would have clearly entered the base of his neck; a debilitating blow. His reaction, however, was much more swift. His hand wrapped around her wrist, his grip sure. His free hand caught her neck, as he turned at the hip, letting her back meet the wall behind him.

Her aggressor's face came into view for the first time. The structure was a queer mix of boyishness and age, giving him an otherworldly appearance. His brow was soft, though his eyes seemed to accentuate his brow as the glow from his eyes smoked around it. His nose was small, and thin, a bit pointed as well. Two small horns, no longer than her own index fingers curled upward, towards his spiked mane.

His lips lay thin, pulled in a transitive state of determination, his mind locked on his defense. A soft tug played at a side of his mouth, a slight smirk coming to form. His flesh had a purple hue it's pale color.

"Drop it." His grip tightened on her wrist. His brow furrowed a bit, as his lips wrapped around his words.

Angela darted back as she twitched a little. Her eyes narrowing as she watched him. She stepped back as she watched him - and her head cocked to the side. She was now rather worried about the creature in her home. Wondering exactly what it is. She bit her lip a little as she tried to get back. But he caught her by the throat and pinned her to the wall. She stared at him, her eyes locking on his.

Her hand convulsed as he gripped it and she dropped the knife. Her face screwing up a little in pain. She winced faintly as she winced a bit harder. She sighed softly and tilted her head down, whimpering more then just a little as she tilted her head away. She didn't know what this was - not at all.
