Red eyes looked around frantically. She held them in her arms as she hid, crouching down low, trying to keep them from whimpering. They were so young, so young, only three years old. Where were they? Ana lightly kissed their foreheads, not wanting them to be too scared. Horses could be heard thundering by. She crouched lower, holding the kits closer to her body. Once she thought they were in the clear, she slowly peaked out but when she heard a scream from close by, it sounded like her mother and her eyes widened. Her twin brother came running by, quickly grabbing her and one of the twins. As they ran, they held hands, running as quickly as they could. Foreign men were after them, trying to capture many young from their small town. Her heart was pounding out of her chest as she ran, clutching baby Marishka close while her brother held onto Sebastian.
Someone appeared in front of them and soon they were surrounded. Ana stood close to her borther, still gripping his hand tightly. The men got off their horses and approached, guns pointed directly at them. Her sister was taken from her before she was hit hard enough to knock her to the ground. The same happened to her brother and that was the last time she saw her family.
She vaguely remembered being on a ship, below the decks on little food and water. What felt likes weeks was only two days and soon she was on land again. A black bag was put over her head and she was tossed roughly over someone's shoulder, shivering in the cold winter wind. The man was stock and she could hear his heavy footsteps on the ground. Ana was soon put on the ground and the bag was taken off her head, her arms still tied behind her back. In front of her stood a big, fat man. He wore a suit and looked like he was rich. Ana watched as he motioned the man who had brought her in, over to him and whispered something in his ear. Soon, she was over the mans shoulder again, but not black bagged. She was taken to a room, brought a meal and instructed to eat, bathe and eat. Ana was then left alone, locked in the room. Licking her lips, she looked towards the meal, smelling fish. It filled her nostrils and she ran towards it, hungrily devouring the meal before walking towards the shower in the corner of the room. Licking the left over fish from her mouth, she took off her clothes and got in the shower, closing the curtain.
When she got out, she noticed that the plate had been taken out of the room and what was left was a white circular thing on a tiny plate and clothing. Taking the white thing, she sniffed it and then put it in her mouth. It tasted much like a plant near her home, a plant she loved and she sucked on it until it dissolved. As she dropped the towel from around her body, red tribal markings could be seen on her arms and back, as well as her hands. It was a sign of coming of age in her town.. Once the clothes had been put on, stockings and all, she laid on the bed, exhausted and went to sleep. While she slept, someone came in and injected her with a green serum which would cause her to sleep for more than six hours. That was long enough to send her over to the company that was being merged with this one.
She was in a box, lying on her back, her legs folded up, resting on her stomach lightly. Ana was out cold, sleeping soundly as she was delivered into a lavish room. On the lid of the box was the name of the owner and also a few tiny air holes so that she wouldn't suffocate. It was nighttime and big snow flakes were falling, winter was in full swing.
