Somewhere in hell...
He couldn't help but flop down on the couch as he entered the house, his ice blue eyes closing,"Man sis..." he said with a sigh,"You're too much... I'm exhausted..." he said as he looked at her, his short black hair matted to his forehead with sweat,"You couldn't pick an easier training method than kicking the crap out of me...?" He said as he let his hand ghost over his stomach, nursing a few bruised ribs as he slowly sat up,"Anyways... you know the deal, I'm your training dummy if you make dinner." He said, giving a soft deep breath as he sat back on the couch, wiping his forehead lightly before pulling his shirt off, his body overheated from their workout. His body was toned, as most would expect from a ninja, but he was still a genin, training and doing easy missions, but he had a lot more scars than you'd expect, mostly because of his sisters training, but he didn't mind, the deal was basically a failsafe because the most he could cook was ramen and even then he had to remember to keep an eye on the water, lest it evaporates.

"You're lucky I agreed to this deal punk," Kasumi laughed. She ran her fingers through her brown hair, having let it down from it's usual pony tail. "And no, I like this method of training. I push myself till my body physically can't take anymore, and push myself beyond that. Which is why I'm always getting stronger and you know it." She looked through the cabinets, groaning. She had been on a mission for the past two weeks, and looking in the cabinets and fridge she saw that there was no food. "Do you expect me to cook my first night home from a two week mission with no food in the house?" Kasumi growled. "You moron. There was money left on the table specifically for groceries. What the hell did you spend it on?" She got so irritated at times, expecially these. When people just did stupid things. "Put your clothes back on, we're going out to eat till I can go and get groceries, since some people forget to get them!" Kasumi said. She looked over at her brother. She couldn't honestly believe he had spent the money on something else. She wasn't sure about him sometimes.

He groaned lightly as she told him they were going out, and he knew when she said groceries that he was going to have to carry them,"Come on... I bought stuff..." he said, slowly getting up, wrapping a bandage around his torso before pulling on a shirt,"I just didn't buy a lot of it..." He said, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a bunch of money,"Here... this is what's left..." He said, handing it to her before heading towards the door,"Listen... bruised ribs don't carry things well... so please, please, I'm begging you, don't make me carry anything too heavy..." he said, putting his hands together, hoping she wouldn't be mean to him just this once.

Kasumi rolled her eyes at his begging. Taking the moeny he had left over. She'd asked him to stock the fridge. But that didn't happen. She walked out of the small two bedroom apartment, the grocery store was only a very short walk from their apartment building. She just tried to ignore most of his complaints as they walked. She hated to hear people complain. She used jutsu on her men when they complained. "Listen, I will use the same jutsu on you that I use on my men if you don't hush!" Kasumi growled. She stepped into the store. Buying the essential things they need. And only the essentials. She kept things in strict order. Only eating so many calories a day, and keeping with a strict diet, meaning he was often subjected to the same diet.

He rolled his eyes at her threat. He was good at jutsus, he'd admit that, but he knew she wasn't as good as he was. She always kept to a strict diet, he didn't know why, with as much exercise and training she did, he doubted she'd ever get out of shape. He followed her, having kept a bit of money of his own, buying a few snacks and stuff, including a few sweets he knew she wouldn't be able to resist,"Sounds kinky sis..." he said teasingly at her threat, walking behind her as he grabbed a thing of Dangos,"Besides... if you're nice, I'll let you have some..." he said as he waved it infront of her before bringing it back and putting it in their bag,"Which will be very tough for you, meanie sis..." he teased, poking her side.

"There's already some in the cart. And you know I'm better then you at jutsus, after all. You are a mere genin after all. And I'm an ANBU leader," Kasumi said cockily. Looking in the cart, the only thing she ever worked into her diet was dango. She could the stuff like no other. Then again, being raised by Anko Mitarashi one could expect no less. She grabbed the other things she needed "You better be paying for that junk with your own money, not what I gave you...." She paid for the groceries. Picking up most of the bags herself. Leaving only one of two that needed to be carried. Mostly his bags. Ones that contained his snacks. She'd gotten all of the others, the things she'd paid for. She put the groceries away and looked at him, "So, ramen stand for dinner?" She asked. She was too tired to fix anything at the moment. The mission had been stressful this time. And she had a horrible headache. So she planned on eating and oming home for some sleep.

He laughed softly as he grabbed the bags, wincing a bit as he followed her,"Sounds good..." he said as he panted a bit, his ribs bothering him,"How about this... tomorrow, to help you relax, we'll go to the baths?" he asked, moving with her to the ramen stand and putting his bags down, sitting and taking a deep breath. His ribs were thudding lightly in his torso, he figured he'd have to get a medical ninja to check them out, make sure they weren't cracked or anything. He put his head on his hands, looking at her a bit,"And trust me sis... just cause you're the Anbu leader, doesn't mean you don't have anything left to learn..." he said with a smirk.

"Oh, I know I still have things left to learn. But I learned from the best for the first ten years of my life," Kasumi said softly. She had loved training with Zabuza Momochi, her and Ryu's father. After her father's death she had moved to the Leaf Village, wanting to get away from his memory. She was taken in quickly by one, Anko Mitarashi. Anko taught her everything she knew. All of the jutsu she had been taught as a child under the tutilage of Orochimaru. She was thankful to have learned from two of the best. Then quickly gaining rank and becoming a member of the ANBU. She knew it was what she was meant to do. Her small size making her perfect for assassinations. Standing roughly 4'10" and weighing no more then 90 pounds. She was extremely small in stature, but she more then made up for it in her skill.

He chuckled softly as he moved, poking her arm gently,"True... you've learned from some of the best in what they do..." he said as he gave a soft yawn and stretch,"But that doesn't mean I haven't either..." he said, looking at her out of the corner of his eye,"I mean, I learned from the best genjutsu teacher in the village." He smiled. He'd been learning slowly, getting the genjutsus right and making them realistic, as well as learning how to break most jutsus. He moved and pulled out a dango from his bag, placing it on counter next to her,"If i wanted to, I could make you believe this dango was a snake... and you'd never know I did it..." he said with a soft laugh.

"I can see through even the best genjutsu," Kasumi said. She had been able to see through even her father's jutsus at a young age. Genjutsu was her specialty. She could see through and dispell come of the most powerful jutsu in the village. She ate her ramen. And sighed. She hated being tired. A long mission and a day of intense training, she felt mentally and physically exhausted. Not to mention she had a letter from Gaara sitting on her desk. She couldn't help but think this was about their brief one night stand while she was on a mission in the Sand. She sighed as she thought back to that night. It had been fun. His sand could do some pretty amazing things. She still had burns on her wrists and ankles from it. But she had throughly enjoyed every minute.

He saw her sigh and he shook his head, moving a bit behind her and giving her a good shoulder rub,"You know sis, you work too hard..." He said softly,"I mean you're tired all the time, you're sore, you can barely even get up on days when you don't have a mission..." He said as he rubbed her shoulders,"You need a break... you know what they say, all work and no play make Jack a dull boy..." He said as he moved to her neck lightly, massaging in all the right ways,"Besides, if you don't take a break to relax yourself every now and then, you're going to have an injury... one that mednin aren't going to be able to fix..." He said, his hands working expertly over her sore muscles.

"The only injuries I have at the moment aren't mission related....." Kasumi said. She shrugged his hands off of her shoulders and stood up. "Now, if you don't mind. I'm done eating. Finish up and come home. I paid for the food already. I have a letter from the Kazekage sitting on my desk that read Urgent." She walked back to the house, sitting down at her desk. Unsure if she should read it. She knew that he had wanted something more then a one night stand. But it had been her last night in the village, and they were both drunk. She picked up the letter, holding it lightly in her hands. She looked at it, with the large red letters that read "Urgent" on the front.

He gave a soft sigh as he watched her leave. He finished eating and grabbed the money she had put on the table, replacing it with his own. She didn't know that he did this kind of thing, but he never let her know. He walked home slowly, holding a kunai and spinning it slowly in his fingers. He wanted her to know that he cared... he wanted to find something to do for her to make her happy. After a while he got back home, slowly opening the front door,"I'm home..." he said gently as he moved, putting all the groceries away, sneaking the money back into her money purse, before he moved to his room, passing by hers as he did so.

"Get some sleep! Chunin exams start soon! And you're going to be entering with your team," Kasumi shouted after him. She said and opened the letter reading is words.

Dearest Kasumi,

I had been hoping to hear from you sooner after our night. I truly enjoyed out time together. I can only hope you feel same. I wasn't sure if you knew, but it was my first time. So I'm not sure how good I was, nor how much you enjoyed it. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Sincerely, Gaara.

He sighed softly as he moved, opening her door slowly,"Here..." he said, putting a bag down by her bed,"Just a way of saying... thanks... for the ramen." He said as he left her room, moving to his room. He laid down on the bed and stretched, taking a deep breath and closing his eyes. He always cared about her, always did so much to try and help her, but she never seemed to show any thanks. He moved, grabbing his journal and starting to write in it, writing different thoughts and ideas, sighing as he wrote about her.

Kasumi looked up when Ryu entered the room, looking at the bag questioningly. She reached down to pick it up. Still thinking of Gaara's letter. Not sure if she would ever see the young Kage again. But that was unimportant. Her brother had given her something. She wasn't sure what was in the a bag. It had never been about her not appreciating the things her brother did. But she had never really been taught to show any kind of affection. Their father had died when she was young. And she had left soon after. So growing up in the world of the shinobi, she rarely knew how to show affection. She loved her brother dearly.

Inside the bag was a small vase filled with flowers from the sand village. He had heard some rumors from her last mission there, nothing concrete, but enough to know she'd found someone out there. He put his book aside and rolled onto his side, closing his eyes lightly. Just once he wanted her to show her thanks for all he does. He sighed lightly, trying his best to fall asleep, battling with a bout of insomnia as he rolled onto his stomach, looking away from his book which he forgot to reseal. He had stayed behind when she left, wanting to protect their mother since he was the man of the house now, a few years later when he became the age able to train as a ninja his mother insisted he trained where she had, and he left, giving her a kiss. It was something of a surprise when he turned up where she lived... he could remember her face when she opened the door.

Kasumi sighed, looking at the flowers. She wasn't in love with Gaara. Not by any means. She had some fun with him. But it had been nothing special to her. A drunken night of sex and fun. She stood up. Picking up Gaara's letter. Putting it in her desk desk drawer. Closing the drawer, she walked into her brothers room. Leaning over him she kissed his cheek. "Thank you for the flowers Ryu, it was a sweet thought....." Kasumi whispered.

At the feel of her kiss his eyes opened lightly,"Hmmm...?" he whispered softly, having fallen into a small nap,"What...?" he said as his eyes focused again, looking up at her,"Hey... what're you doing in here...?" he asked softly, giving her a gentle smile and taking a deep breath. His body was still slightly sore, but he didn't show it,"Did you like the flowers...?" He asked, rubbing his eye gently,"I... I figured since you enjoyed the mission out there... you'd like the flowers to remember it..." he said, giving another soft yawn.

"You're sore huh? I guess I'll have to train on my own tomorrow. I need to go on a run anyyway," Kasumi smiled. She messed his hair up a bit. "I liked them. And it's not what you think. I didn't meet someone there. You remember what happened with Neji Hyuuga a couple months back. We both got drunk and went a little crazy? The same thing happened while I was in the Sand. The guy of course is a little more attached..."

He couldn't help but give a soft chuckle when she messed with his hair, moving and wrapping his arms around her waist, pulling her onto the bed,"Ahhh... maybe someday I should get you drunk..." he said with a soft laugh,"Then maybe you would be a bit more affectionate than a kiss on the cheek while I'm sleeping." he said, hugging her softly and cuddling close to her, his hands on her lower back as he smirked teasingly,"You always were one to not know when you've had one too many..." he said, moving and poking her nose teasingly.

"Oh hush you, I get far too affectionate when I'm drunk to be around my brother," Kasumi laughed. She let out a soft squeek when he pulled her to the bed. "And I know when I've had too many. It's not like some people. I actually like to get drunk. I have fun when I'm drunk. I can actually relax. You know I can't relax normally. I have to be drunk to relax." She knew it was the sad truth. That she had never once been able relax when she was by herself and sober.

He chuckled lightly as he held her to him, snuggling a bit,"I know, I know... but I try my best to help you somewhat relax..." he said,"I mean... I wish I could help you relax around me at least." He said as he laid his head on her shoulder gently, closing his eyes,"I've tried my best to help you with everything I can..." he said softly as he gave a soft breath,"It's just hard when it's just us two..." He said quietly. It was true, the reason the house was always clean was because of him, the reason they had food was cause he went shopping every day. Most of the times when they didn't was because he probably had just gotten home from a mission.

"I know Ryu, I wish I could... It's hard to relax when all you've ever known is training.... Dad started my training from time I was old enough to hold a kunai. I was only four when he started my true training...." Kasumi said. "It's just so hard to go against all you've ever known." She laid her head back. Closing her eyes as she tried to relax. Her body still as tense as ever. She was tempted to go get the sake out of the fridge.

He held her gently, holding her close,"I know... I know..." He said softly, nuzzling into her shoulder,"But there has to be a line... between mission/training/work you and home you... you don't have to be tense around me... I'm your brother." he said, letting his hand move, gently pushing back some hair behind her ear,"I'll always be here for you, always be around for you to talk to, express your frustrations to... whatever..." he said, giving her a soft smile,"I'd do anything for you sis... all you need to do is ask..." He said softly.
