An Esper's Second Chance (Raine & Daleen)

After his meal was over the dark haired Guide, Myles, was leading the way for Six. The home of the Guide that the Guide ran was a big one, a beautiful one, one that had a certain sort of warmth to it that might be foreign to someone like Six. There were vases filled with fresh flowers scattered about, paintings on the walls that seemed to all be done by the same artist's hand, and from time to time an animal ran passed that likely belonged to the Esper that had been outside playing with the pack of dogs.

It was a very lived in place. It wasn't just a place that one rested between missions, it was a home, made to be that was deliberately. A safe have for those that Myles took in, a safe haven that had been opened to Six even though there were those that looked upon him as nothing more then a weapon that should be wielded, not as a person.

"From here you can take either the stairs or the elevator between floors." He explained, pointing first to the door that would lead to a staircase that went up and down, leading to different floors, and then to the elevator. He gave a smile and told him, "For now we will take the elevator. It's quicker." The two of them stepped within and his hand hovered for a moment, "Now... where was it that you said you wanted your room? Closer to the ground? Or higher up?"

There were a handful of rooms that still lay empty within the building that he could choose from. Myles had taken in a handful of different Espers and Guides but he was doing so slowly, carefully. Never taking on more then he felt that he could safely look after. It wasn't about money, he had plenty of that. It was about them. Those that he took in were all wounded or broken in one way or another. They needed attention, affection, and care to make sure that they had a chance to heal and become whole again one day. It was a slow going process so he'd never take on too many people at once.

Only because those he was working with currently were comfortable and settled in did he begin to seek out another member for his Guild, that member being Six himself.

Once the Esper told him where it was he wanted his room he tapped the appropriate button. Unlike it more professional settings like hotels or government buildings there was no elevator music. Instead it was a comfortable silence as they rode the elevator, though there was a ding once they arrived. The Guide stepped off first, continuing to lead the way.

It seemed deliberate, the way that he allowed Six to follow him. He showed the Esper his back on many occasions, showing that he trusted him even though nobody else did. He walked down the hallway before he stopped in front of one of the doors. He reached into his pocket to get out a key ring, found the right key, and removed it from the others. He held it out to Six, "This is the key to your room. I will also get you one for the front and back doors to the building itself soon. Once you're ready to come and go." He couldn't do so yet. Not until Myles approved of it, "For the time being you're free to go anywhere in the house, other then other people's private spaces, and anywhere on the grounds, but no further then that."

He would allow Six to go into the room first and he wouldn't follow any further then standing just within the doorway. The room belonged to Six now. Unless there was an emergency he wouldn't go in without permission.

The room was as it had been described. Bare bones, awaiting an owner to decorate it to his or her liking. There was a bed, a dresser, a desk and chair, some shelves, and a trio of doors. One went to a small bathroom that had only a walk in shower stall, sink, and toilet within. The second door went to a closet that Six would be able to put clothing and various other items in. The final door went to a small balcony. It was empty, just as everything else was... though if one was standing out there they could smell all manner of sweet scents wafting from the garden that was on the roof of the building.

The room, while empty, belonged solely to Six. A place that he could call his own, a place to call home, that he could decorate in anyway that he wanted to. Giving a smile the Guide told him, "You will be given an allowance to spend on whatever you want or need. It will be small at first though will grow as you take on more responsibilities." Be it work around the house or work in his capacity as an Esper. Or he didn't have to do either and he could just stay at home and live off that small allowance. It was up to him or so Myles had told him.
