Betrayal. It was a word he knew far too well. By attempting to fight against his fate in order to remain by her side, he had somehow ended up standing on the opposite end of her weapon and her pokemon. Realizing just how drastic their situation had become, he knew he needed to put an end to this game now, else both of them would succumb to a fate falling beside their exploding ship. "I won't let this choice be the end of us! I won't let you sacrifice yourself over something as foolish and selfish as this!"
"Alakazam!" His psychic pokemon summoned itself from its pokeball, roaring in support of its master. "Guard Split!" Before she had a chance to attack him, the trainer raised his own defense using his aegislash's strength, resisting what was soon to be flung in his direction. Given the strength of his bond with his pokemon, he felt confident with putting his life on the line with them behind him. Unlike the woman that broke his trust, he was able to rely on their power to keep him safe. "Aegislash!" Realizing that she was building distance, instead of chasing her alone, he swapped tactics right on the spot. "Use Flash Cannon!" Immediately, a beam of light extended from his living sword's edge towards her direction, cutting the very air molecules that got caught within its line of fire. He wasn't playing around with trying to knock the resistance out of her.
As if, her own pokemon realized the stakes that were at play, especially with her old friend's eyes hypnotized into the color of his parent's pokemon, he noticed them stand in the way between him and his companion. "What? How blinded must you be in order to defend someone that wants to get rid of you?!" Cerulean couldn't help but think they were misguided. "So be it; If this is what you wish to be your end, fine. But I won't let you hurt my pokemon too. Their lives were never in your hands in the first place-"
Upon speaking his words, before he had a chance to charge in, several goons from his parent's corporation had dropped in from an airship, surrounding the two of them now that they had wounded each other. A woman stood in front of them, leading them all to take advantage of this rare opportunity. Divide and conquer. Simple work. "Violet, what the hell are you doing here?!" His sister clapped his hands, amused at how far the two had fallen. From being once heroes to now being turned against each other with the help of a legendary pokemon, she found it rather amusing to see how far her brother had fallen. "Oh, Cerulean. To be blinded by love. At least, thanks to this foolish farce, mother and father had no more need for you. Without you in the way, I'll be the next heir to the company." A crude smile grew over her face as her goons lifted their rifles towards them.

"And as for you, you little minx. I should be thanking you. If not for you, my brother would've never stepped out of line in the first place." Content with his companion's role in her scheme being fulfilled, she turned herself around as she snapped her fingers, causing the rifles of the goons to rise in sync. "Though regardless of how useful you are, you are a pest to be eradicated. Goodbye and good riddance, sweetheart. I'll be sure to tell mother and father that you two had killed each other."
With enemies surrounding him on all sides, he was left open to a surprise attack from his companion, knocking away the hypnotism with a blunt strike to his face. "Ach... FUCK that hurts!" He rubbed his chin, only to be made aware of how dire their situation was. "... Shit." With his eyes now returned back to him and his mind coming back to normal, Cerulean lifted his aegislash's shield towards the goons. "Aegislash, King's Shield. Wide Guard. Iron Defense." Buffing his own pokemon's defense further and further, he glared at the people he once deemed his own, seeing nothing but the eyes of the enemy behind each and every scope placed on them. As his eyes turned towards his companion, he noticed the marks of pokemon on her flesh: His pokemon's attacks to be exact.
"...I suppose its too late for apologies, isn't it?" Hearing weapons cock, he pulled her into his arms to shield her from the barrage of gunfire that was soon to follow. "I'll make it right, I promise... But for now. Let me keep you safe. We'll have all the time to fix our shit after." Once he heard the rain of lead come to an end, he slowly pulled away his shield, taking back his blade as he prepared to charge while they were reloading with their pokemon getting in the way. "But right now I need you and you need me for both of us to survive this, to escape this falling ship and those grunts surrounding us... And I'm damn sure, we both hate my bitch of a sister a hell of a lot more than anyone else in this god forsaken region."
