if you need any help with code β€” whether it's complex xtables or simple bbcode β€” β€…β€…this is the place for youβ€…β€…. i know my way around most of the code that works on-site, so if you have a problem, i can almost guarantee that i can tell you exactly what's wrong with your code β€” no offense!

i've had a few people messaging me lately asking for help β€” to β€…β€…createβ€…β€… or β€…β€…troubleshootβ€…β€… β€” and to help even more people, i figured it would be a great idea to perhaps explain the fixes in public. it's not as complicated as one might think, when you know what you're doing and/or know what you're looking for.

β€” i will do my ʙᴇsα΄› to help you!

Over the last few weeks, I've been a huge beneficiary of reverie's immensly kind help with all things BBCode. In the process, I've learned a lot and now have a much improved understanding of what we can and cannot do here with our implementation of BBCode.

She's been incredibly helpful to me, advising on how to put together a much more visually appealing RT, which I've been tinkering with in the background - it will be posted very soon and you can see the results yourself! In fact, there will be two RTs - one is "very clearly mine" and the other is "mine with reverie's help and eye for design"

She always had some kind of an answer for me - even if it wasn't always a 100% satisfactory answer... (but that was often more to do with BBCode Limitations, to be fair!)

The one lesson I learned that I fully encourage you to take onboard is:

FOR THE LOVE OF... ALWAYS WRITE YOUR CODE WITH 'TOGGLE BB CODE' enabled

Especially if you're using tables, xtables, tabs, accordions (which you shouldn't... they suck). Anything beyond the simple formatting that you find on the above simple ribbon where you're composing your code.

Make sure that [ ] symbol is blue!

This is very true.

I don't need any help, but Reverie's guide on xtables has been so useful to me and it's actually how I started getting more confident with BBcoding as a whole, I've sent a couple people her way and she's always been so helpful from what I hear so don't be afraid to ask for help!
