Personality
Hayden Maxwell is volatile and unpredictable. He long ago drowned in a rage that he can never escape from. His emotions sit close to the surface and always have. Everything he feels he feels the extreme versions of. If he loves something he becomes obsessed with it. If something angers him, he wants to destroy it. His loyalty is unbreakable. He has no middle ground. Nothing about Hayden is soft or calm. He is a hurricane in human form. He was never given a chance to learn how to regulate his emotions, instead he has been moulded into someone who has had to weaponize them to suit his 'boss'.
He is impulsive and reactive. Which makes him effective in active combat. Though he often deviates from his training and lets his need to let loose his aggression take the reins. When he fights it becomes less about work and more about the need to bleed. He doesn't just kill his targets, he destroys them. It's how he survives.

Underneath the violence he is a fractured man. Like a terrified child that never got to grow up. He clings to Jude, who is his only stable point in the world that has proven to be nothing but cruel. Hayden lives in constant fear that something bad will happen to Jude. Without Jude, Hayden unravels and becomes unmanageable. His dependency on the other is far deeper than emotional, it is physical. Hayden can't function without him.

He can't always hide the darkness that had been fed inside of him, and he doesn't always have the energy to suppress it. Not when a part of him likes the violence. He enjoys the kill, the mindlessness of it. It's the only thing he is good at. The only time he ever has control. Hurting others gives him purpose. He hates himself for it, but it is all he knows. He was shaped into a monster and has become an unwilling passenger to his own twisted impulses. Both a weapon and a victim, yet never innocent.

Bio/Background.
Hayden was born into a family without love. A family that he can barely remember. One tainted by abuse and neglect. He entered into the foster system before he was able to speak. There his hell only continued. Pushed from one neglectful or equally abusive foster placement to the next. Until at seven years old he was placed into a home with half a dozen other kids. There he gravitated to another boy named, Jude. They were both violent and out of control. Both of them deemed to be un-adoptable by the system. They bonded instantly. And have been bonded ever since. Their relationship was protective and obsessive. So intense that it drew attention from the wrong kind of people.

By the age of ten he and Jude were taken to a new home. One that was supposed to be for children in need of extreme rehabilitation. It was controlled and run by Alexander Maryott. A high-ranking political player, who had deep ties in law enforcement, intelligence and the black markets. Maryott saw potential weapons instead of boys. And he used them against each other to break them down.

The next fifteen years were ones of well-planned conditioning, torture and reprogramming for the two boys, now men. Codenamed Seven and Eight. Hayden-Seven being the more emotionally unstable of the two was subjected to more abuse, physically and emotionally to fracture his sense of identity enough to make him more receptive. Maryott forcefully made Seven drug dependent, keeping him as compliant as possible. And every time he'd try to fight back or resist Maryott would hurt Eight to demand submission. Only deepening that inescapable bond between them. Yet in turn making Hayden self-destructively spiral knowing he caused Eight suffering.

By the time they were seventeen years old they'd become high value assets. Seven was operational. He was a weapon used as an enforcer. One without mercy. Best when using his hands. Set loose on enemies and paid targets, until he had so much blood on his hands, he didn't see death as anything out of the ordinary. He was still unpredictable. So, his drug intake was escalated to keep him the pawn they needed him to be. However, he was still dangerous, not only to his targets, and to himself, but to Maryott at times. Eight was the equalizer.

Now, at twenty-five years old, Seven is nothing but a ghost trapped inside of himself. He is capable, volatile and violent, but fractured inside, only able to find any semblance of calm when drugged out of his mind or with Eight. He believes in nothing. He lives for only Eight and his obsessive need to make sure that they stay together.

Personality
Jude is the more controlled of the pair. He is methodical and emotionally distant from everybody but Hayden. He is the kind of man who kills another without a second of guilt. The kind that could massacre a room then sit down and eat a meal like nothing was wrong. He doesn't say a lot unless he has to. He prefers to observe and plan and is usually five steps ahead of the game. He is the stereo-typical cold-blooded assassin, yet it has nothing to do with apathy. It is all about engrained lessons on how to survive. And how to keep Hayden alive.

He managed Hayden's rage. His addiction and his despair, like the way an owner would learn to control a feral animal. Yet he is devoted to him. He hates what Hayden has become. And he hates himself even more for playing a part in it all. Being Hayden's handler as well as his friend. He doesn't know how to be anything but what he has been made to be. And is as reliant on Hayden as Hayden is on him.

Jude wears a mask of cold control. Yet underneath it he has been ground down by trauma. Maryott didn't just break Jude through beatings, he broke him through isolation, starvation and conditioning. He was made to believe that having emotions made him weak. And that any attachments he had would be used against him. Proven time and time again when he was made to watch Hayden being tortured as punishment, and vice versa.

He finds control in protecting Hayden, by managing his addiction and keeping him alive and functional enough to still be an asset. He is the one that manages the drug doses and timings. He is the one who cleans up the mess made. And the one who covers for Hayden when he goes off book with a mission. He's a handler, and a good one at that. Ensuring that his attack-dog stays useful enough to be allowed to live.

He one day plans to burn their world. He will do it efficiently and quietly. Until they're both free, be it dead or alive.

Background/Bio.
Jude was in the foster system from birth. He knows nothing about his birth family. He was raised in the same fucked up foster system as Hayden. Meeting at seven, they made an immediate bond with each other due to their unstable and violent tendencies. They could communicate without speaking and bled for each other.

They caught the eye of Maryott's program. And the man took the ten-year-old boys under the guise of reform and rehabilitation, only to traumatize them far beyond anything they'd already experienced. The next fifteen years were ones of psychological torture in the name of training. Hayden resisted and still resists to this day, and he gets punished for it. Jude now known as Eight adapted. He learned how to bend to the system without completely breaking.

He was recognized for this and for his intellect in the first year and Maryott shaped him into something focused and monstrous. He was trained to become a strategist and a handler to control other enforcers, specifically Hayden. Now known as Seven.

He was forced to comply easily as soon as they started using Seven against him, forcing him to watch him suffer, until he did what they wanted of him. He learned that control was the only way he could keep them safe. That his emotions were dangerous, so he suppressed them as much as humanly possible, so they could not be used as a noose to choke either of them.

Now, Eight is Maryott's prized asset. He is clean and reliable. Unflinching when it comes to messy work. And able to control their loose cannon. Yet for all his supposed strengths, Eight is slowly and quietly unravelling and has been for some time. He knows he needs to find a way to end this, however he can. Even if that means killing them both.
