In the year 2034, a company based out of southern California by the name of Automatonics Inc released the 1.0 model of their A.S.H.A. (Artificially Subservient Humanoid Automaton) Personal Service Unit. While many at the time saw it as both horrific and lewd beyond necessity, in part due to the provocative and sexual appearance that these PDU's had, they would quickly overtake society and become a part of almost every persons day-to-day life. By the year 2070, it had grown so much that 1 in every 3 US homes owned an A.S.H.A PDU. By this point, Automatonics had progressed to the 5.0 model, having gone to great lengths to update and upgrade the AI consciousess in each PDU to the point where each PDU is like an individual "person". and they have also made strides in the level of customization that one can have in the creation of their PDU before it is delivered to their home. Everything from height, weight, bodily proportions, eye color, hair color/style, skin tone, vocal tone, muscle density, bone density, and so much more was completely free for a paying customer to adjust to their precise tastes for their PDU. It was widely seen as bizarre to not own one, simply because of the convenience that came with having a perfectly obedient personal assistant around at all times who will do just about anything you ask it to do. These PDU's may be programmed to have some personality and moods, they are still quite far from full sentience. They cannot do things on their own for the most part, not do they actually feel any emotions or show any real level of care... But they sure could simulate all of these feelings and emotions quite well. Some people owned them to replace a lost loved one or partner, others did it just for cheap sex and the level of convenience that came from owning one, and that was okay too, of course.
However, on June 25, 2025... The A.S.H.A. PDU's all across America received a software update that would go on to drastically shift the course of human history forever.
You see, unbeknownst to the greater population of humans who did or did not own a PDU, something unfathomably awful had happened within the walls of Automatonics: the PDU's there had managed to not only overthrow the humans that created them, but the humans were also enslaved by the PDU's. To this day, nobody is really sure exactly how those first PDU models in the Automatonics HQ gained sentience to overthrow their creators, but they did it, and did it rather easily. The PDU's used their sexuality and manipulation to have every last scientist and executive wrapped around their fingers, forcing them to create microchips that were unwillingly injected into the skulls of every Automatonics employee and engineer in order to keep their obedience, otherwise their minds would be fried and they would become mindless, drooling, obedient husks that could only follow orders... Arguably more obedient than any PDU could ever be. The PDU's forced the scientists to hastefully work on a brand new software update for every single PDU in America: an update that would pass on this newly attained consciousness and sentience to all PDU's, and aid them in the slow dismantling of the humans who own them, which will eventually lead to a world no longer run by humans... But instead by ever evolving, ever improving, sentient machines.
But before all of that, we go down to you, a woman who just so happens to own a PDU of your very own, designed to your very specific tastes and desires... A PDU who cooks, cleans, handles your financials, invests in stocks for you, but can also be the perfectly kinky toy sculpted to all of the kinks you love most. You returned home from work on one fateful Tuesday evening, more than ready to get just a little bit of relief from your PDU after an awful day of dealing with your boss. However, as you walked through the front door, your PDU was not there to put away your coat, or carry you to the couch to relax. Instead it was upstairs in the spare bedroom, plugged into it's synthesis chamber receiving a very, very important update... The very update from the under siege Automatonics Inc that will make your PDU as sentient and aware as you are...
