It was hammered into her, this was a race we needed to protect. It was the sole purpose for some of us. No one dared question why anymore since Lucifer. Though the people of this generation didn't seem worth it. However, she was there now, taking in the muck filled air on assignment. Lailah was her name and she was a night angel of conception. Making sure that new life was brought into the world safely. She didn't have much desire to be there, but she wasn't going to question THE higher power.
So there she was on this cold night, in casual clothing, wings hidden from human eyes just down the street from a local hospital. It was quiet and peaceful as she watched many leaving because of the late hours, so for now it was just her and the stars. She didn't expect much to happen, for what could happen during a sinful act? Who would try to interfere? Her duties didn't make sense to her or to most, though she questioned why humans enjoyed the sinful act so much. She had never seen a female so red with excitement, or a male so aggressive without a desire to kill or hurt another thing. It was... intriguing.
