In 2020, an aspect was discovered in the human body. Something at the time called resonance. At first it confused scientists, but they studied and discovered this resonance could be matched with others. Thus, 'Compatibility' was founded.
Compatibility is the concept that two people can see their resonance in order to determine if they match. Two people with 49% or less Compatibility 'could' make it work, but their bodies weren't compatible and it was much more difficult to bear a child. People with 50% or more compatibility would inevitable fall in love and their bodies could easily make a child than people with 49 or less. Essentially the scientific concept of soulmates was discovered.
But this was hardly cared about. It's only fame at the time was couples would see their compatibility. Most were less than 50%, some were fortunate enough to have higher. It was almost a game on Tiktok. But it was ignored afterwards.
Come Year 2025, the birth rates had hit an all time low and it was a crisis. The world governments were struggling for a solution and in a faithful meeting, the decision was clear. Many people during the Tiktok trend put their resonance into the system and many were discovered to have a higher match with other people. World Leaders passed the Breeding Law
The Breeding Law States that two people with 50% or higher compatibility must conceive 1 child within a year. The government will provide funding and support.
This law was panned by many. Women groups did not like the idea and religious group soon joined when it promoted 'affairs'. For the next few years, protests and even riots broke out. But Compatibility was accurate. And a lot of people began to favor it. Conspiracy theories of the government taking protest 'leaders' and finding their resonance and 'forcing' sex to make them fall in love were wide spread. A lot of anti-Breeding Law Leaders would later appear with a 'compatible' partner and agree with the law. Soon, people stopped fighting back and accepted the Breeding Law. Some against it and some even in fear of it.
