Their mother was walking around the kitchen, moving things and preparing for a day out with her friends whilst their father cooked. The two were arguing about something completely unimportant when Josiah came in and asked for his sister. "I don't know. She's probably still asleep." The woman walked up behind her husband and swiped a pinch of food, ate it and kissed him on the cheek. "Your father is making breakfast- why don't you go wake up your sister and tell her to get down here?"

Josiah nodded compliantly, turning around and heading up the stairs. He slowly moved, wanting to see if she was already awake or not. Once he got to her room, he quietly opened the door and saw her curled up in her covers.

"Come on, breakfast is ready. Let's go," he said flatly, leaning against he door-frame.

She didn't even look up from where she lay and replied by curling up more, pulling the covers over herself in an attempt to disappear. She didn't want to go anywhere with that... monster. His sister sniffled and mumbled for him to go away. She wasn't hungry. How could she retain an appetite after what he had done to her?

Josiah said nothing at first, but instead walked over to her bed and grabbed the sheets, throwing them off of her. "If you don't come with me, I'll drag you down there myself, and you know I will," he growled. He bent down and gripped her wrist, not tightly, but enough to pull her up.

Acacia panicked when he tore the blankets off of her and immediately tried to jump off of the bed. She stopped when she felt his hand wrap around her thin wrist. She pulled away and wheezed in a deep breath as her panic began to consume her. She shook her head and thrashed her arm, trying to get away from him.

However, Josiah held on, gripping tighter now. Pulling her up from the bed, he took the inhaler that was on her nightstand and put it in her free hand. "Now." he growled in her ear.

Her tongue swept over her lower lip, wetting the dry skin. She glared at him and clutched her inhaler in her hand. She held onto it so tight- she was trying to break it. Her eyes watered and snapped shut. As if by reflex, she slammed the inhaler against her face and inhaled, over and over. As air filled her lungs, her body crumbled back to the bed.

Slipping his arms around her waist, Josiah halted her from laying back on the bed. "All right, let's go," he said coldly, hauling her to the door whether she liked it or not.

Acacia struggled against him but not enough to release herself from his grip. She refused to lean against him for physical support and pulled her robe shut. She didn't look at him and followed his steps, going downstairs with him and to the table where breakfast waited for them.

Josiah sat down at the table, looking at the breakfast and smiled. It seemed that their father took into consideration what he learned the night before, and made some vegan-style food for her instead of what they were eating. He quietly ate, not paying any attention to Acacia, and instead watched the window outside.

Acacia stared down at her plate for a long time before realizing what was on it. She was grateful for what her father did, so grateful that tears slid down her cheeks. She didn't feel them and she didn't sob. The past 24 hours had been so much for her. Acacia blinked a few times and pressed the end of her sleeve to her eyes, drying up the tears before anyone noticed them.

Josiah, however, briefly noticed them. He didn't look over at her or say anything, he just continued to eat in silence. "What time do you guys work today?" he asked flatly after a while, taking a bit of the egg.

Their father mumbled something with a mouthful of toast and orange juice. Their mother rolled her eyes and sipped on what looked like white wine in a glass but was really white grape juice, "Your father will be leaving for work after he finishes eating and I have some errands to run." Most of the time it seemed like their mother didn't have a job and that she was always doing something for herself.

Acacia looked at her brother when he spoke to their parents and frowned as she heard her parents answer. She would be all alone in the house with him- again. She looked down at her plate of food and tried to think of a way to get out. "Mom, c-can I-," She sounded pathetic but was still cut off, "Oh no no darling, I have to do these errands alone."

She bit down on her lip as her plans were crushed. Her hands gripped her robe and tightened on the material until her knuckles turned white.

Her older brother finished up his food, placing his plate on the table before he stood up. Afterward, he took the plate into the kitchen and washed it thoroughly.

"Oh, don't worry. I can keep you company, sis..." he said evenly, glancing at Acacia briefly before walking into the living room and turning on the TV. She obviously was extremely frightened at the prospect of being alone with him. He was still deciding on whether or not to do something with her again... he could certainly frighten her into complying...

"Who knows... I might take you out somewhere," he said with a lazy shrug.
