Name: Hori
Age: 21
Appearance: Stands at 5'6", and is of a an average build. Has tribal tattoos on his body, as well as scars from working with dragons.
About: Raised around dragons his entire life, Hori understands them to a degree that most can't. In his time as a dragonrider, he has come to learn that the world can be viewed from so many different perspectives. He does his best to view situations objectively, factoring in both emotional and logical lines of thinking.
Partner: Sayaad

Hori took a deep breath. The hot desert air of Ereshkigal-VII was cooling swiftly as nightfall settled in. The planet's twin moons were rising in the darkening sky. The young man always looked forward to this time of day. Being born and raised on the desert planet, he was used to the extreme shifts in temperature-- from the blazing daytime, to the frigid nights-- but it was during twilight when everything felt just right.

He felt something brush against his mind, like a finger being lightly dragged across a surface. Hori turned to the massive winged beast he was partnered with: a dragon, whom he had named Sayaad. At five years old he was a mature dune hunter, a species of dragon as big as Earth's elephant. Unlike most species on the planet, which had six limbs, the species had four limbs like terran vertebrates. Hori reached up and stroked beneath Sayaad's chin. "We'll be there by tomorrow," he said. The young man pictured an oasis in his mind, and the dragon let out a low growl in response.

The two of them were seeking shelter in a cave carved into a cliff wall. Whatever had called the cave home had long since abandoned it, leaving behind bones picked clean by insects and other scavengers. It was big enough for several dragons to fit comfortably, and Hori had started a small fire to provide some additional warmth. The After-Dark would come eventually, when temperatures plummeted below freezing. Dragons had adapted to this harsh world, but for humans it was a difficult place to live.

He hoped the fire would discourage any overnight visitors looking for food. Humans were small, tasty morsels compared to the xenoreptiles living on the planet. They put up less of a fight and were considerably easier to chew. But the light might attract less hungry visitors.

Name: Caye
Age: 19
Appearance: Petite young woman with long platinum blonde hair and sharp emerald green eyes. C-cup breasts.
About: Caye was the daughter of one of the dancers of a traveling caravan. She was raised by her mother and the others within the caravan, never learning anything about her father. She learned all about dancing from that of the caravan. She wasn't very old when she ended up stumbling upon a strange egg in a cave while exploring in the desert, an egg that had hatched into a dragon. And there seemed to be a connection between the pair of them, and since then the pair have been the best of friends. Thanks to help from other dragon riders that she has meet through the years, she has learned a little bit about dragons which has deepened her connection with her dragon.
Partner: Resyre

The days were always so hot but the nights were cold. Yet that was the consequence of living on a desert planet, that was the price that was being paid. Although there were some who wondered how they had gotten there. Why humans had decided to make this planet in particular there home, or was this how it had always been. Was this just the world that the first humans had come to exist on? Or was it the case of the planet just wasn't taken care of through the many millennia and this was just what happened. Many questions, but so far that is all there was. More questions than answers.

The young woman with platinum blonde hair and bright green eyes just made her way along with the caravan that she was traveling with. A dancer troupe that was traveling from one settlement to another. And in that place... a settlement seemed to be a place that had managed to find an oasis in this harsh desert planet. If not finding places to reside within the many cliffs that littered the lands, taking shelter from both the heat and the cold. Eyes were flickering towards the beautiful white creature that streaked through the air above their heads which had her smiling ever so slightly. Her dragon. Resyre. A creature who she had found a number of years ago, and the pair had grown up together. The best of friends.

"It looks like there are some cliffs over there that we can make shelter in for the night." the leader of their small caravan was speaking. Only about twelve people at that time, they had lost many through the last few months. People who hadn't been able to survive the harshness of the heat and the freezing temperatures. But it got to a point where humans had no choice but to try and adapt, even though it was a difficult thing.

However it wasn't long before Caye was going off ahead of the group, running across the sand over towards her dragon as it was fluttering down to the ground. They were close to shelter it would seem, and with how calm Resyre was currently there didn't seem to be any danger, but that was something that could quickly change within a matter of moments. "Resyre. Please continue to keep an eye from the sky." the young woman was speaking, which had the dragon nodding and soon she was streaking into the air once again.

Sayaad raised his head, sniffing the air. The great beast's nostrils twitched, and his eyes gleamed with alertness. Hori had long ago learned to trust dragons' senses of smell and hearing. The young man went to his bag and drew a short, curved sword. Better safe than sorry. It was not yet After-Dark, which meant that any number of creatures could be looking for food. Basilisks, dromaes, wild dragons. The list was a long one.

He reached out to Sayaad's mind. Dragons didn't speak like humans. They communicated by conveying sights, sounds, and smells, but they understood words and concepts well enough. What do you smell? thought Hori. The dragon blinked amber colored eyes, and a picture appeared in Hori's mind: multiple two-legged figures, and then thickly built beasts with short, thick necks and tails. Humans and beasts of burden.

Hori held onto his sword. Travelers, most likely. Probably not a threat, but one couldn't be too careful. Another image flashed into Hori's mind: a winged creature. A dragon. Travelers with a dragonrider? Good fortune then. The young man pulled a wrap from his bag and stepped out of the cave, his eyes looking for the newcomers.

Resyre was just floating through the air although she was also picking up on the scent of another dragon, but it wasn't something that truly bothered her at all. In that day and age it seemed quite rare to find a dragon without a rider. At least that wasn't something that they had come across in that area that they were in, but there was a whole planet to explore. There wouldn't be a surprise if there was some region where dragons were plentiful and had no riders at all. But in the end that information was being communicated with her rider. Better safe than sorry.

Information that Caye didn't overly react to but she did make a note of as they continued along, the leader of the caravan leading them along through the sand. Endless sand with very few cacti littered about at that point in time. Strange how the planet seemed so inhabitable yet somehow humans managed to find a way to survive, somehow. Definitely not without many difficulties that was for certain.

Although it wasn't long before there was new information being communicated from Resyre as the white creature was spotting the tiny shape that was Hori as he was stepping out of the cave. A threat perhaps, she couldn't quite tell but she wasn't going to just going straight into attacking. It could also be an ally. One could never be too careful. All she could do was let her rider know, who was passing on the information from that of her dragon.

"Do not draw weapons. We will approach with peaceful intentions." the leader was speaking to everybody as they continued along, getting closer to the cave until they could see the young man standing at the mouth of the cave.

Hori could see the caravan now. In the failing light, he couldn't make out any weapons in their hands. However he held onto his sword, albeit at ease. Sayaad's eyes looked over the group before turning skyward. He was keen to tell if this new dragon was friendly or not. Or, at the very least, not hostile. Hori could feel the slight unease in the great beast's mind. Hori raised a hand, waving in greeting. He wanted to get a sense of these newcomers as soon as possible.

Resyre was spotting the human and the other dragon more clearly now, which had her circling so that she could return to the caravan, taking to landing on the ground near them. Nope instead of flying she was going to take to walking near them - in a way showing that she wasn't a threat at the time. The leader was making his way towards the cave with the rest of the caravan following after him, before he was raising a hand in greeting. "Greetings fellow traveler." he was speaking after a moment in time before explaining who they were. Traveling dancers pretty much; nothing ultra special. His eyes were going towards that of the other dragon at the time; although he took it as more friendly seeing as Resyre wasn't going hostile, and Caye seemed pretty relaxed.
