We meet again, patrons of BlueMoon..
Below you will find a fantasy-horror plot involving humans & monsters, including but not limited to vampires, witches, poltergeists, and demons. I am open to other monsters being included or substituted in, this is just what came to my mind first. If you are interested in this plot, feel free to PM me at any time, or you can check out my Request Thread for other plots and ideas that I've written.
Ever since the Human and Monstrous realms were suddenly merged, life has become much more chaotic for just about every living being on both sides. Many humans were fearful, and a corrupt and bloodthirsty few used this fear to lead campaigns to slaughter as many of the Monstrous as they could possibly find, even those who merely wished to exist with peace. And likewise, many monstrous beings who were corrupt, or who had seen their people be slaughtered by humans, turned to violence and set off to slaughter as many humans as they could, innocent or otherwise. It was a fully fledged civil war, one that saw no true end in sight unless it meant one side had become completely wiped out by the other, or both sides ended up wiping each other out and the planet was left to the wild animals of Earth to be the new rulers of it. While most humans are at the very least fearful and untrusting of the monsters, a select few exist who just wish for there to be peace between the two sides. Most of those select few have banded to form a group known as The Unity Coalition, people who use advanced weaponry skills and even magic to defend the peaceful of both humankind and monsterkind from those who wish to spill blood and kill. Though they were greatly outnumbered by those who wished to kill on both sides, their talent when it comes to various forms of combat and weaponry makes them just as formidable and deadly as any army. They've taken down both entire army's and the deadliest of demon lords, sometimes just one member being able to do so. Because of this, many members of The Unity Coalition were labeled as "traitors" and marked as wanted criminals for the crime of "terrorism against humankind" with large bounties placed on their heads. They were hoping that any random person would try to kill a Coalition member for the prize, which to a degree did happen. It became difficult for Coalition members to trust ordinary people, so they had to go into hiding and be resigned to traveling in the shadows, moving in secrecy.
Norael is a member of The Unity Coalition, who lives among the rest of humanity under the guise of being a monster bounty hunter. It was an easy way for him to slay deadly monsters, while being able to "accidentally" let less threatening monsters go free and find places to hide. Plus, he also had some liberty when it came to other humans, as not many people wished to cross a bounty hunter or interfere in a hunt, due to ridicule if said monster got free as a result of their interference. Many other Coalition members judged Norael for living so freely among the other humans, due to how they too wish to kill the Coalition, but he saw this as the best possible way to do his job, and the results he put up showed exactly that. Norael primarily used firearms and magic, pistols with silver bullets and a demon seal carved into them, shotguns loaded with similar pellets and rock salt, and the magic he used was primarily of electricity and ice nature-types. Ice was good for defense and trapping enemies, while electricity was controlled and chaotic, usually unpredictable for monsters and humans to predict the use and movement of. Norael had been suspected of being a Coalition member in the past, but nobody was ever able to stick any hard evidence against him. Even he would work and move in the shadows, keeping monsters away from him that he himself didn't need to kill. It was a grueling life, but Norael preferred it to mindless bloodshed and genocide of humans or species of monster that weren't even trying to do harm on anyone.
However, things changed one fateful night, and Norael's life became murky from then on...
He was off in a faraway rustic city, hunting a vampire lord who had been allegedly stealing wives and slaughtering husbands to do so. One evening, Norael decided to spend a few hours at the bar having a few drinks, mostly keeping to himself and occasionally chatting with the barmaid about some of the hunts he had been on. It was just past midnight when he had decided he had enough, threw some coins over to cover his tab and tip the barmaid, before seeing himself out to head back out to the cabin where he was staying. It was just outside of the city, where he liked to be out of sight and out of mind. Beyond that, he also couldn't sleep in a city where there was so much noise all the time. As he was walking down various streets, he suddenly heard a woman's scream from an alleyway up ahead, and instinctively sprang into action, running to the alley with pistols drawn. Norael had hoped to catch one of the vampire underlings of the lord trying to snatch a woman away, but what he found was much different: it looked like a woman, but it was clearly a monster of some kind. A vampire or a demon, he couldn't tell which in the darkness. They seemed innocent compared to the deadly monsters he was used to, and Norael immediately felt no threat from it. But he did then see three large men, clearly intoxicated, groping at the monster's body and occasionally throwing punches.
"Trouble here, gentlemen?" Norael called out, getting their attention.
"Trouble? no sir! Just havin' us a little fun with this'n here monster!" One of the drunks called out, before throwing another punch at the monster woman's gut, causing her to slump over and fall to her knees.
"I'm sure you good ol' boys are aware of the city-wide ordinance, right? Not to engage in monsters that pose no threat to you, and to call a hunter to investigate... Right?" Norael called back, holstering a pistol so that he could flash the bounty hunter badge around his belt at the men.
"Oh but Mr. Bounty Hunter, this here monster is dangerous! It done stole my wallet, and I need it back!" The drunk proclaimed, throwing a kick at the wounded monster again.
"Well now, that certainly is a problem. How about you let me handle it, then? Considering only one of us actually has the means to kill such a "deadly monster" if need be.." Norael flashed his pistol again as he approached, shooing them back so that he could do his work. With his free hand, Norael cast a binding spell, where both sides who agreed could only tell the truth.
"This here demon or vamp or whatever it is, can use its dark magic to bind to this contract spell. Both it and I are forced to tell the truth, and if we try to lie, it poisons our blood. You agree, demon?" And sheepishly, the monster woman slowly raised her hand, casting dark magic to bind the other half of the spell, now locking them both into the spell.
"Now then, did you take this gentleman's wallet?" Norael first asked.
"N-no, Mr. Bounty Hunter Sir... I've never seen these... Men before..." The creature responded, its voice was weak and hoarse, likely from the beating.
"Okay... And have you ever harmed or killed a human before?"
"No sir, never..." The monster was 2/2 on giving truthful answers, even Norael was surprised, and he could see that the men were getting upset.
"And my final question... Why are you in this city?"
"M-my people... Were slaughtered months ago... Our village torched and trampled, I had nowhere else to go... So I've been here, hiding... Sir..." And once again, it had spoken the truth to Norael.
"Well boys, this here is a monster that hasn't caused you or anyone else any trouble or pain, so I'll be taking it into custody myself. I hope you find your wallet, now off you gentlemen go..." But alas, it was never that easy for Norael, was it? As Norael turned his back to face the monster again, one of the angry drunks grabbed an empty bottle off the ground and threw it directly at him, aimed right for the back of his head. Norael probably could have dodged it on his own, but before he had the chance to do so, the monster woman had flung to her feet and swatted the bottle towards the wall, it shattering and saving Norael from harm.
"See that!? It just tried to kill you, and now it's threatenin' me!" One drunk yelled, as they all pulled out knives, and haphazardly began to charge at the monster. By how it moved, Norael could tell that this monster may be able to handle its own under normal circumstances, but was choosing not to fight the men. So, in order to maintain that, Norael swung the monster behind him and cracked all 3 drunks upside the head with his pistols, which sent them tumbling to the ground.
"Gentlemen, I've already made my ruling here. Bounty Hunters have similar authority to the police, as I'm sure you already know, so unless you want to go home to your wives and girlfriends with concussions and broken jaws, I suggest you head on out..." Norael proclaimed, before turning back to the monster, and using a spell that sealed the monster within a small brown cube around his waist. It was a charm imbued with his magic that allowed him to capture monsters, shrinking them down and imprisoning them within the cube charm for easy capture and travel.
And with that, Norael was on his way once again... Walking for another hour or so until he had gotten out of the city, and finally made it to his cabin. It was a quiet little spot, just on the edge of a lake, surrounded by trees and a bit out of the way for most people. Here he also had a basement, one where he could now further question the monster he had captured and potentially escort it somewhere safer if it actually was as passive as it claimed to be. However, his night would not be as peaceful as he hoped it would be, because the drunks from before didn't plan on just stomping home sore and disgruntled. They went back to the bar and rallied the troops, telling this wild tale of a bounty hunter who chose the life of a horrific monster that tried to kill them over humans. And before long, a small militia was formed, and they were heading off in the direction of where Norael went.
But for now, Norael set everything up to keep the monster contained: pentagram demon seals on the ceiling and floor above one another, a ring of pure salt around that, and burning candles scented with mint placed within the triangles of the pentagram on the floor. These precautions would keep it trapped in place, whether it was a vampire, demon, poltergeist, or something else entirely. Once everything was set up, he cast a spell that reverses the entrapment within the cube, spawning the monster woman in the middle of his trap, just a few feet away from himself.
"Apologies for the cramped space, but it was the best I could do to get you out of there. Got a name?"
So for this plot, what I envision is a sort of slow building romance story between YC, a monster of some sort who is both far more powerful and deadly than my character initially believes, and MC, a Bounty Hunter of twisted monsters. Perhaps YC had been tracking MC to kill them, allowing yourself to be cornered and attacked by the drunks, and being able to manipulate the truth binding spell he had used to interrogate you. But now, MC and YC will end up on the run together, accused of aiding demons MC will be, and YC will constantly be trying to set him in traps where he gets captured along the way. Perhaps if YC kills MC before the spell of the relic cube is broken, if he dies, YC dies as well, or something of that sort which explains why they run together. But as time goes on, things can become more teasing and lewd on YC's end, trying to coax the hunter into something that even other hunters see as a sin: love with a monster.
And where do things go from there? How do we get to that point? That's for us to craft and decide. You are welcome to bring any ideas of your own that you think would work for a plot like this, and I am very open to changing how the scene plays out. The type of monster that YC ends up being can be for you to decide, I would just prefer it be more human than not at the end of the day. So yeah, if you're interested in discussing this plot, feel free to PM me
