School has the wonderful power to suck the life out of me. Again, I managed to poof for a couple months. I am easing back into things though.

BYORP is an idea I have been toying with for a long while, I have ideas but few refinements to those ideas, the general idea is that it will allow potential partners to select bits of information - basically prompts - to make building a RP easier.
It hasn't seen much use, and the thread design I use is already ginormous...
Hence why this section is in my old thread and not my new one.

Settings are a key part of any RP, where the RP shall take place specifically will have a huge impact on The RP itself.

as complex and ... not so writing heavy? So we can have moar fun ~

I am doing well. School has started back up so I am free to roleplay again.
Of course, I always love playing Naga, I have also expanded them a bit, always making up more stuff for my pretty snakes. I am writing a bit of a field guide on them, working on the desert breed now, Raan. Though I am a little curious as to what you mean by not as complex. Like as in the characters? or the story?

I'm glad school's not too bad this time around. Theology is awesome!
So is philosophy. I learned that Dave Chapelle was Muslim. Had absolutely
no clue that he was.
Oh, well a simpler story with fewer characters and more in depth personas
(well, side characters more-so). I still love the idea of turmoil, though!
As for ideas, I'm not entirely sure, doll.
I still like the idea of our desert setting, but we can certainly make a new
one. I sort of imagined 'Raan playing a more crucial role to the story,
perhaps the bodyguard to some tyrannical overlord. He's a faithful
guardian to his superior but for the sake of the roleplay let's say this
supposed superior has done something to irk his loyal bodyguard.
As for the tyrant? He holds a tournament and recruits the winners to his
island where he's constructing a fortress around an artifact belonging to
Old Gods (we can discuss those too, I thought it would be interesting!)
that he believes he can use to rule. In a nutshell my character would be
a winner of the tournament but is brought to his fortress to work as a
slave.
Hm, I like it, though instead of her being a slave, how about she gets recruited as another one of the bodyguards? That would put them together faster, it would also put them on the same level. the tyrant likes exotic bodyguards, and strong ones, could be one of the reasons why he likes using tourniments. (Ala lucien from fable 2)

She could be hired, I mean, it would be a pretty lucrative job. I guess she could be reigned into doing it, I imagine that is why Rann is serving this guy, especially if he is a tyrant, he has some sort of obligation to fulfil.

True. I imagine that she adopted the job after entering the tournament.
She entered because the tyrant promised the winner some form of payment
after they've won and worked for him for a period of time. She won't be all
too happy too work for him because he's a tyrant but then again, she's
chaotic evil; she chases her own whims, her own intrigues and generally
doesn't care of the consequences ~
I think I am going to use a more world aware, socialized Raan this time around, last time he was fairly feral (Still sad we didn't get to the Amon/Raan luff). This time I will probably have him wearing more clothing, perhaps even armor and wielding weapons. (With his strength, he could one-hand a claymore or a large cleaver, like a buster sword or something)
Raan doesn't like the tyrant because he is a prick. I imagine he mistreats his servants and possibly even those close to him (Within reason, Raan has like two hundred pounds on the guy)
I would say he is chaotic neutral, not evil, not good, just there. Red Naga tend to be like that.
I could even change up my naga, unless you want to stick with the desert breed I could play something more exotic, like a Medusa.

Hmm. Well, they may bare witness to this artifact's cataclysmic powers
after the tyrant takes them along to watch him test it's power by
completely destroying a village or settlement.
That may do.
Perhaps what he gets his hands on is only a piece of the puzzle that he needs to unlock the true weapon.
But it is still enough to mess some folks up.
He could send them as part of a team of specialists into this ruin or sumthin.
