The Falcon is flown to heaven and Chione is arisen in his place
Dearest of Friends,
I write to you on the precipice of great change and opportunity in our Black Land of Kemet. Though the death of our Pharoah Adnan, The Great Stabiliser, casts a heavy shadow of uncertainty. We now find ourselves stepping into the purifying light of promise, through his last gift on this plane. His true born daughter, Chione. The pure blooded, legitimate heir of our late ruler and his royal wife. Princess Chione, as true to her name, daughter of the Nile. Anuket incarnate.
We humbly invite you to witness the crowning of the Princess, to be one of the first to be in the presence of her grace and divinity and celebrate in the festivities that follow. It is our hope, that by having your attendance during our days of celebration, we may strengthen the bonds set out by our late ruler, and in turn forge new ones. For the benefit of both of our nations and it's people.
We hope to walk with you into the new age that awaits us all.
The Royal Vizier.
Kemet - Egypt
The Black Land has found itself pulled into chaos, through the death of their Pharoah.
Famed for bringing peace with the wild tribes that encroached on their boarders and securing strong alliances across Arabia and the Mediterranean. The people of Kemet have had the privilege of living through years of peace and prosperity, through the work of their ruler.
However, like all times of peace, this too has ended. Adnan's life was soon marred by tragedy. His royal wife succumbing to illness after the birth of their first and only child led the great Pharoah into great sorrow, but also paranoia. The cause of the late queens death was ruled to be from unforeseen complications from childbirth, but that did little to relieve the fear for his heir's safety. He knew of the whispers among his lesser wives and concubines, especially among those he had bore boys from, the envy they held from the great favour and love he had for his first and favoured wife.
He could not discount that they had played a part in his queens death.
The teachings and warnings of his own father would be rendered useless if he did.
Therefore, with only those closest to him knowing, he sent Chione away. To the far, outer, regions of the land, to live amongst the high priestesses of the north. To live under their protection and tutelage. Away from the dangerous politicking of court, where he could not guarantee her safety from his consorts and bastards.
Those close to the pharaoh were privy to see how this decision weighed heavily on their ruler. To be separated from the last connection to his wife. To never see her again. And to only hear about her progress through private letters he received infrequently. This loneliness dragged Adnan further, and further, towards melancholy and loneliness. So much, that towards the end of his life, after suddenly falling ill, he isolated himself. From his women, children, advisors, and allies. Neglecting his duties, so much so, that on his death bed, the peoples support of their Pharoah waned, peace and prosperity long forgotten, allied relationships became fractured, and their borders became more dangerous that their trade routes became affected. Leading to rising debts with their allies.
His death not only left his lands on the brink of turmoil and uprising, but also with a seismic power vacuum.
Though he proclaimed Chione as his heir, there was still blockades for her to wade through. Before and after she takes her rightful seat. His eldest sons, from his consorts, that were also of age to take the throne, dwindling boarders and allies, and most importantly, vipers. Vipers who are ready to snatch up her hand in marriage for their own gain.
Chione
Separated from her parents from a young age and brought up by the cold and strict patronage of the High Priestesses, loneliness, fear, and religion, were the main pillars of her life. Living under secrecy for her own safety, the comforting embrace of an adult, or the happiness of childhood, were foreign to her. Forever to be held at a distance from those around her because of the blood that runs through her veins.
In that isolation. She had grown into a quiet beauty. Her deep brown, bronzed skin was complimented by her developed hourglass figure that she moved with grace and poise in. Her delicate, heart-shaped face held her siren like brown eyes that held a quite conflict between them. Her long, full, black hair framed her striking features and flowed past her shoulders. Blessed with the beauty of her late mother.
Though she had her academic and religious tutors, the only real an true comfort in her life. Were the Gods.
Praying to them, morning and night, left her with what felt like comfort. Warmth. Love. They were a constant for her. Their whispers to her through the winds, the call of birds, the sun, the river itself. They were everywhere. They never left her. They loved her, so much so, that she believed with all her being that they had made her a vessel for the Goddess Anuket. Her namesake. Goddess of the Nile. She was to be their vessel to rule Egypt. A true, pure, Pharoah. Who would bring them out of the corrupted darkness that infected it.
Such is the naivety for one who has not been bitten by the snake pit of politics...
If it were not for the blood than run through her, her cold, quiet, and prudish demeanour would have made her an excellent priestess.
If you're still reading up till this point, then I hope this format of my request thread interested you!
To briefly tell you about myself;
I'm female and I live in the uk so I am on BST time but don't take that as deterrent to writing with me. Most of the people I've written with are on EST time so its not something I consider and issue. I've been writing for a very long time. My writing size usually reflect my writing partner but my minimum is one paragraph, I just don't do well with one liners.
Communication wise, I enjoy OOC but its not mandatory, it helps with brainstorming and making sure we're both enjoying the story. I also appreciate communication from who I'm writing with. If anything comes up that's keeping you away from writing I totally understand and I'm happy with taking a break, for your sake. Just let me know. Though I value communication, in case there is a long period of silence, I only check in if there's been radio silence for a month, at least, so you wont get a barrage of poking from me.
Back to the story!
As you can clearly tell I have a craving to do plot set in Ancient Egypt. I'm honestly looking to write with someone that's excited to delve into this story and get really immersed into how the story and our characters develop. It would be an added bonus if you enjoyed writing for side characters, as with this I expect different dynamics to be going on. I'm not asking for a lot. Maybe one or two side characters to write, but if you want to write for more I'm also happy with that.
If you are interested in this, I would appreciate if in your message you had a description or at least an idea of the character you're looking to play. And if you're stuck on what kind of character I have some light suggestions that you can choose from if you want.
- Consul of Rome
- Legatus legionis (Head of the miliary)
- Leader of one of the wild tribes
- Bastard son of the Pharaoh
- Wealthy trader
- King/Prince of Mesopotamia, Syria...etc
- Maybe even the royal advisor who's written the invitation
You don't have to use these suggestions but I hope they help.
I am pretty open to most kinks but have limits to the obvious ones. I'm happy to discuss those over messages.
Not sure if I left anything out...but feel free to send me a message with any questions and ideas you have.
**Disclaimer** I'm not looking to stick to any historical events, I am merely inspired by them. So don't worry about being historically accurate.
