The partner I had who was doing this rp was banned, so I'm hoping to find someone who would be willing to give it a try.
I've been doing a rewatch of Bleach (skipping Filler) and just got to this bridge scene. It sparked my interest in this old cannon pairing, which I like. What if Gin's offer to save Rukia was a bit more genuine? Saving Rukia at this point would force Aizen to reveal himself, at which point 5 or more captains, and the captain commander would all start kicking him. Gin and Rukia are both pardoned, and we get to skip the worst parts of Bleach (Fake Karakura Town took too many years of my actual life)
In this alternate timeline, Gin genuinely does help to save Rukia's life, and Aizen is put away early. But Tousen gets away, forming the Espada so that he can seek to take down soul society. Gin stays a captain of Squad 3 after he is pardoned, and takes Rukia as his lieutenant, trading Kira to Squad 13. Gin begins training Rukia, spending time with her, and is genuinely affectionate however Rukia is still scared of Gin, and suspicious of him.
This would be a slow burn romance. Gin is training Rukia for the impending danger. Earning her trust, but he can't help but be playful with her. Forcing her into embarrassing clothes, and playing on her mistrust. He knows he is a bad person, but his affection for Rukia will be genuine.
