So I started fucking around with music in FL studio to keep having reasons to improve in my passions. Coming from a background where I always wanted to play piano, yet only was able to play drums in the past, I wanted to use my passion in RPing and creating worlds to motivate my interests in other areas! Anywho, decided to toss together something I thought was neat as a start!

Did my best to arpeggiate a (Cmaj7 - Am7 - Dm7 - G7) lofi chord progression at 75 bpm in C major, added drums next before seasoning it with a bass line on the root chords one octave down, then added the harmony with transition notes to make it all wavy! With the instruments I randomly pulled up, it sounded all ocean-y too.

Thought it was perfect for one of my RPs and I tossed together a short little video with my video editing skills, slapped a wave sound effect from another video with fade transitions on both the song and the waves, a gif converted into mp4, and manga text with a custom hex border on top of it all to come up with this for one of my stories!

Maybe next time, I'll mess around with diminished chords, extended chords, and voicing the chords.
Hope I could keep leveraging this energy into something I could be proud about ^^​

To think its been less than a week and I've been able to learn so much! To go from not knowing how to do chords to researching music theory to better my songs for my writing partners and my DND group and buying a midi keyboard to make creating music even easier!

I've worked hard at learning how to do more with staccatos.

And I'm even messing around with automations and EQs to make custom instruments and more dynamic sounds.​

Now its time to hone what I feel good at and learn from my inspirations. Honestly, working with music makes me feel like some sort of bardic warlock throwing notes in his cauldron to create something special for the people that gave my creativity a place to grow.​
