WAR IS PEACE
(but what is it good for?)

Far to the north in the frozen glaciers lies a kingdom of elves and dwarves known as the Yatari Peninsula. For two thousand years they worked in tandem to raise a nation with strict guidelines and principles that are necessary for survival in the harsh climate.

Over time, the needs of their people demanded a grasp for resources. The Yatari are very tactical minded and have technology that outclasses other kingdoms. Small yet fierce, they began taking land from their neighbors. Total War is a concept first conceived by them in this world. Military service is required for citizenship. Every aspect of Yatari life is centered around doing your service to the nation. Emotions are strictly controlled and policed. Every citizen is expected to wear a mask of stoicism, even alone or with close family.

This type of totalitarian regime wreaks hell on the youth, who are expected to toe the line, accept their stations in life, and to remain diligent. Some have little or no problem doing that, but sometimes trouble makers slip through the cracks. In a harsh and regimented world, fun was sternly frowned upon. That of course does not stop some from racing Snowpiercer battle tanks across the frozen lake, or rigging icebergs with explosives. Graffiti is also an ongoing problem for the authorities.

The idea isn’t to sew seeds of revolution, but more to poke fun and push boundaries. Nobody appreciates violent change less than the Dwarven council or the circle of high elves. And being citizens of the empire you probably don’t want your house destroyed. The point is to chip away at those rough shoulders on the council members and make them see the errors of strict rule of law.
