yet you can't deny what your heart feels.
A chilly winter wind nipped at the old man's hands as he reached out, brushing the snow off the door handle in front of him. Unlocking it, he stepped into the building, closing the door behind him with a shiver. "Damn cold... keeps all the customers away." His voice was frail as he muttered to himself and reached over, flipping on the lights. He smiled slightly to himself as his eyes looked at the cages around him. The man didn't own your ordinary store, but in fact was in the slave trade business.
Shrugging his jacket off and onto a coat rack near by, he then began his rounds. This store had been his pride and joy for upwards of forty years now; and in turn, he took very good care of his merchandise. As he walked, he carefully, but quickly looked over each and every pet he had there; making sure they were clean and healthy. It wasn't until he got his final cage that he lingered, just staring with a grin. "You, little one, will not stay here for long.."
Within this particular cage, there was a neko girl; her big brown eyes staring up at him. She; however, said nothing in return to his words, but just stared. After a few moments, she resumed her original state; curling up into a neat ball, her ears flattening back against her head as she closed her eyes. She hated being here.. absolutely hated it. But maybe, just maybe.. this was her chance to find love. "Hah... Who am I kidding?" She thought to herself. "One will never find love being a slave..." And with that, she let out a soft sigh, curling up a bit tighter.
