Genre(s): Action-adventure, hack and slash

Back of the Box:

It is the time of Greek myth, the time of the Olympian Gods! Mighty Zeus rules from his throne on Olympus, with jealous Hera ever-watchful...

As a demigod, empowered by the Promethean fire, fight your way across ancient Greece in the epic adventure of Conquest, Destiny and Revenge!

In one of the most spectacular action titles to grace the system, do battle with mythological monsters and terrors from the darkest reaches of Hades...As you set out to alter that which no mortal or God has ever changed - Your Fate.

Armed with all-new brutal combat moves and magic, prepare for the devastating mythological war to end all wars...In a odyssey that will take you to the very halls of the Gods themselves!

Summary:

There's one cardinal rule in Greek mythology: Never sleep with Zeus.

Seriously, it never ends well for any women who does that, one way or another...With a very unpleasant fate delivered by Hera, Queen of the Gods, with all the fury of a woman scorned.

But what if you happened to break that one rule...?

*************

I'm looking for someone (Preferably a male DM!) to run a fantasy adventure with the following concept: Our lovely heroine (played by me) has inadvertently (Or very enthusiastically) been seduced by Zeus...And now she's on the run from Hera Herself, seeking some way to escape Her divine wrath! (The title's a play off the classic PS2 series God of War.)

I kind of see this as a very tongue-in-cheek, not entirely accurate portrayal of Greek fantasy: While the original God of War is an inspiration, equally over-the-top historical fantasy like Ryse: Son of Rome, Titan Quest or Age of Mythology are all very strong inspirations. (Including Xena / Hercules, or the Altheus gamebooks - if anyone remembers those.)

After all, there's plenty of precedent for heroic quests in Greek mythology, most famously The Odyssey and The Twelve Labours of Hercules. I'm thinking that our particularly gifted heroine is trying to find a way to evade Hera's wrath, or somehow turn the tables on the vengeful goddess...One way or another! (And, of course, having fun with the various men, monsters and creatures she meets along the way!)

As for how she's survived so far...Maybe she's a demi-goddess, one of Apollo's or Aphrodite's offspring. Maybe she was tutored by Athena - who doesn't have kids, but can adopt, and by the way, is really disappointed with her 'daughter'. Maybe Eris is doing what she does best, i.e. stir shit up. Or perhaps Circe or Medea might have something to say about all that...

Maybe she's a proto-demi-godess, empowered by a spark from the Promethean Flame or some other strange source of power. Either way, she justttttt might beat this...After all, Orpheus found a way to bring his true love back from the dead, didn't he?

...What's that you say? It didn't work out so well for him? Well, there's a first time for everything...

Even if she has to go through the entire fantasy bestiary to get there! After all, Kratos did it, and everything was all right in the end, wasn't it?

...
..
.

Don't answer that.

--------

Off the top of my head, here are some possible girls that could fit the role!

I'm assuming a mish-mash of different pantheons and / or times, so we can pick whomever works best. The commonality is that any one of these heroines could be assumed to have a tryst with Zeus, and have been saddled with the responsibility of defeating Hera.

Raised as a child of prophecy, trained to be the Goddess of Wisdom's very own spear, the Scion's destiny of faithful service (and perpetual virginity) was derailed after Zeus seduced her.

Athena is also very, very disappointed in her. Can our heroine redeem herself in Athena's good graces, and find a way to get Hera off her back?

Called to services of the ancient Egyptian pantheon, the Esoteric's (NSFW) skills and sorcerous training didn't account for the temptation she'd face in mythic Greece.

Now, with the wrath of a foreign goddess bearing down on her, can she hope to triumph - And continue her affair - in a land that's *very* much not her own...?

Technically, there's only one Death. But He can't be everywhere, and so He outsources.

Are they true believers in a silent God? Do they serve some unspeakable horror of the Cthonian depths? Either way, they hunt evildoers and those who must perish...And Death's Daughter was the finest of their Order.

At least until she was fucked by Zeus.

It's said that the Scythe of Death eventually claims all things, even Gods. But will it - and all her skill - be enough to humble Hera Herself...?

...Also, she's *really* gothy, which might help. It certainly can't hurt!

There are a lot of cults out there. Some worship bygone beings, so worship demons, some worship the imprisoned Titans - Whom they consider the *true* rulers of the heavens, earth, seas, underworld and everything in-between.

Despite being raised to be their finest razor (NSFW), the Carnifex still had a woman's heart and a woman's weakness for - like - really handsome, divine beings. That's only compounded her blasphemy. Can she thwart Hera's wrath, as well as the fury of her own dark masters...Or will the cult get her first?

Trained to master (NSFW) the sword (NSFW) in all its myriad forms, she's ventured to mythic Greece on a mission of sublime importance. Now, she is ronin, without Lord, Master or succor. However, she still retains her skills and a powerful new lover.

Will that be enough for her to regain her honor - Or forge a new path - and avoid getting horribly murdered by an angry goddess?

A pure-blooded - and very sexy - vampiress (NSFW), she should naturally be untouchable, with her sole interest being from whence the blood flows. Unfortunately, she did have a maiden's heart, and was conquered by Zeus...

Which means that she's picked a fight with a goddess, however inadvertently. Can the descendant of Those Who Bear Caine's Curse rise to the occasion, with Her thoroughly privileged and immortal life challenged?

...Surely it can't be that difficult to defeat a goddess, right?

In the sun-blasted lands of the East, there are those who - it is whispered - strike from the shadows (NSFW) and deal death to tyrants and kings.

Far from home as she (NSFW) is, the Assassin certainly didn't expect to find herself both exposed AND facing a divine enemy she literally can't hide from.

Will the arts of Hasan al-Sabbah himself, Father of Assassins, be enough for her (NSFW) to defeat the greatest nemesis of her entire life? Or will a (thoroughly unfair) fight be too much for her?

They say that there's a God of Light, both simultaneously ancient beyond words and young and vigorous. She was one of his greatest Heralds, His own flaming sword...Until she Fell. Not the way the Morningstar did, but a treachery rather more human and personal - If not forgivable.

Can the Blade of the Almighty survive the displeasure of the Maker of All, Hera's vendetta, and her own conflicted heart?

Fortunately, with her divine essence, she just might.

In distant Hyperborea, where swords and sorcery rule supreme, it is said that their women (NSFW) are the match of any thirty men-at-arms. It was certainly true in this case, until the Warrior-Princess met her match...In more ways than one.

Of course, now Hera's after her, the She-Devil with a Sword might now be facing the biggest challenge of her existence. Definitely one for the history books!

There's a legend of sly, fox-eared women (NSFW) of incredible beauty and magical powers, who live by preying on the life-force of weaker beings and stealing sorcery. The legends are very, very true...And this fox-tailed vixen (NSFW), far from home, finds herself facing the prospect of annihilation from a very angry goddess.

Can this nine-tailed beauty from the exotic East find a way to defeat a being so transcendent, so all-powerful, that she's barely a mote compared to her?

Well, the fox-tailed women have survived worst, certainly!

Odin's daughters, as the Choosers of the Slain, roam far and wide. There's precedent for them - tragically - falling in love with mortals, too.

For the Valkyrie, her mistake was being seduced (NSFW) by a paramour from a rival pantheon...Still, she's skilled in all the arts of war, and was trained by the Maker of Runes Himself. Even in her fallen state, can she rise to the challenge (NSFW) and defeat a *very* angry goddess?

Raised to serve the One Above, the Paladin always knew she was special. More, she knew that while there were many Gods, only the One was True, to be revered above all.

That didn't work out so well.

Having broken her vows to the Church and the One Above, she might yet strike a great blow for the Faith if she accomplishes the impossible...And somehow defeats a Goddess who has it in for *her*, personally!

She should have been Poseidon's own, but Zeus stole her away from a dire fate and a watery afterlife. Unfortunately, being saved from Davy Jones' Locker means little if Hera Herself seeks your demise...

But the Pirate Captain has sailed the seven seas and faced the many, many demons of the deep. She's seen stranger things under the heavens than the Gods themselves might know. With her trusty spell-worked cutlass and (rather anachronistic) flame-spitter, can she find a way to turn the tables on Hera Herself?

She was raised to be the defender of Atlantis, only to be cast forth when she violated her duty (NSFW) to the Eternal City in the most spectacular of ways. (NSFW)

Atlantis may have survived for centuries by isolating themselves from the primitives that roam the mortal realm - But now the Commander (NSFW) walks amongst them, hunted by one of the beings the mortals call 'Gods'.

Armed with technology so advanced it may as well be magic, can this survivor from a grim, dark future make history...?

(She's either the survivor of an advanced ancient civilization...Or a time-traveler!)

Very much open to suggestions! Hoping to hear from interested GMs soon, to flesh this out. I also had ideas for a kunoichi (NSFW) / ninja (NSFW) and a lovely Chinese martial artist (NSFW), but I felt that they stretched the "Fantasy Greece" premise too much, even by God of War standards.

After a bad experience, I feel I should add a qualifier: It may go without saying, please don't use AI in your responses to my posts.

It makes the whole thing feel like a huge waste of effort.
