so, i love SDV, and one of my playthroughs got me hungry for an actual roleplay of my farmer oc and Shane (you expect me NOT to flesh out this little pixel person and create a whole backstory for her? Come On). i love the idea of going from initial awkwardness, misunderstandings, uncomfortable situations etc to slowly coming to some kind of understanding with each other, discovering a simmering chemistry underneath it all that goes ignored until it can't be anymore, from "why are you talking to me" to civil to friends to couple. won't shy away from any of the heavy topics in Shane's backstory. let's deal with the mental health issues, the depression, drinking too much, bad habits/coping mechanisms, the struggle of being a single (god)father, etc.
on my end, i'm not looking for my character to just swoop in and "fix him." she has her own shit to deal with too, her own depression, anxiety, struggles. let them figure out that neither of them has to go it alone, let them learn to trust each other/let each other in, let them find something good that they both desperately needed. let them each help the other climb out of their respective holes. if you're interested hearing more about my oc, let me know, and i'll give you her info.
partners over 25 preferred. i'm over 30 and i'm just not comfortable writing romantic and/or sexual things with people who can count the years they've been a legal adult one one hand.
some thoughts/ideas about plot (both big and small):

some thoughts/ideas about plot (both big and small):
- the farmer has been in town for a month or so, has written Shane off as an asshole, and then out of nowhere has a positive interaction with him at the Egg Festival, which is the first time she's seen him actually smiling and enthusiastic. maybe Shane forgets about it, but she sure doesn't
- playing around with Shane's two heart event, when the farmer encounters him drinking down by the lake and he offers them a beer, resulting in the first instance of Shane beginning to open up. perhaps the farmer begins to open up to him as well. perhaps she has an expectation that they will be on better terms the next time they speak, only for him to act rude again. bring on the angst and awkwardness!
- a mirror image of that scene, where Shane encounters the farmer down by the dock smoking weed. she offers him a toke and they get to talking again. only for Shane to yet again act rude/prickly/distant when they encounter each other next. things between them start to change after that, but by now she's been burnt more than once, and at some point confronts him about the hot and cold, push and pull bullshit (making herself emotionally vulnerable in the process... mortifying)
- she likes kids, and befriends Jas. perhaps she offers to babysit/help her with homework/etc, perhaps even before she and Shane are on polite terms
- that six heart event, man...
- accidental flirting, denial of feelings, will-they-won't-they, "we're just friends," interrupted moment of romantic tension that they later pretend never happened, "this is not a sexy massage at all, it's legitimately just because you have a physically demanding job, and not at all because i am desperate to get my hands on you (and hear you moaning)," etc.
- jealousy/possessiveness! perhaps the farmer is striking up a friendship with another bachelor. perhaps she's being flirted with and doesn't realize it. perhaps it just looks like she's being flirted with. maybe she's being aggressively hit on and isn't super comfortable with it, and needs Shane to come and rescue her from a nightmare social situation that she's too nervous and uncomfortable to extricate herself from. one way or the other, the green-eyed-monster rears it's head. maybe it shows. maybe he's even embarrassed. but actually, she likes it. a lot.
- newsflash asshole! she thought you were hot this whole time! yes, with the scowl, the unshaven face, the dark circles, the beer belly and everything! and she was mad about it because you were a dick at first!
- perhaps a line in the sand is crossed extremely impulsively, while not everyone present is sober, leaving them to try to figure shit out the next day.
- small town dynamics! they have to deal with town gossip/nosy neighbors/everyone knowing their business. how do the villagers react to their maybe-less-private-than-they-realized personal drama/burgeoning romance, and how does it impact them?
