It was a cool summer's evening. Not a cloud in the sky, the stars twinkling brightly in the night. But of course, no one cared about any of that. Some say that Sin City stretched out like a jewel in the desert. Others say that it's a cancer and needs to be cut out. The truth of the matter is: it all depends on how lucky you are.
Chris sat at the table, idlely playing with a porker chip in one hand. He was one of the lucky ones. The small, smelly, slimy, man who sat across from him was not. He also didn't know when to quit. That was the first rule of cards: know when to get out. He sat there, waiting for the man who's name he never caught to put up or shut up. Chris already knew what the man was going to do; sitting there and fretting about it like he was just pissed him off.
Slowly, the man asked for two cards. Chris took one. The color filled back into the guys face. Chris didn't care. Their bets started to rise once more, until finally it was time to call. "Full house, Queens over Eights!" The smelly man yelled, his smile beaming brightly. Chris flipped his cards over one after the other. "The Ace is pretty high, but I think the four Kings matter more." He said as he watched the mans expression melt once more. "Time to pay up." He added rubbing his eyes lightly.
