- Age differences (I prefer for your character to be 40-49 at the oldest. My own are typically within the 20-25 range.)
- Alcohol use (In the sense of the characters being a bit looser than normal. Nothing hotter than a mutual moment of weakness.)
- Pet names (Sweetheart and baby >>)
- Praise, dirty talk
- Frustration (Both in regard to YC being sexually frustrated and just generally a very tired man.)
YC has moved in a few doors down from MC. It's a small apartment complex, and MC is a bit nosey admittedly, so she's acquainted with just about everyone there. YC, however, seems aloof. He avoids any attempt she makes at conversation. He always seems busy, rushed, or too tired. That is, until one night, when MC comes by with an excuse— perhaps that she's gotten his mail or has a welcoming gift for him— but he's kicked back a few drinks. This time, he not only agrees to chat with her, but lets her inside as well. MC learns that he's just split from his wife, living in the complex temporarily until he's on his feet, on top of all the other stressors in his life. As the night goes on things grow more tense, and she finds herself drinking with him. Eventually, she makes a subtle move, and offers to help get his mind off everything for the time being.
YC has recently hired MC as a full time babysitter. Juggling the finalization of his divorce with making ends meet, he needs the extra help to watch the kids while he's busy. She doesn't get to see much of him, though when they do chat there seems to be something between the two. It isn't until one night when the children are with their mother and MC is otherwise helping with his errands that anything happens because of it, however.
Alone with YC for the first time, MC starts to learn about his life so far. They begin drinking, which eases the conversation, and clearly makes him let down his guard a bit. One thing leads to another, and embolden by the liquor MC finds herself offering to help him relax for a little while.
