Hey there everyone, I'm currently looking for a little story set in the hogwarts legacy game.
To start with rules and such, my only request is that my writer is capable of writing madness. The character I have in mind is fairly complex I'd imagine, so this probably isn't the easiest of requests.
Basically, I'd like to write a little tale inspired by the hogsmeade quest in the hogwarts legacy game, where the protagonist has to defeat the poltergeist to get their own shop alongside the house elf.
To recap the quest since it's been a while since the game was released, basically the former shop owner pretends to sell her shop in order to lure unsuspecting buyers into the backroom where an enchanted poltergeist sucks them into his poltergeist realm. Then the poltergeist drives them into madness so she shop owner can buy her shop back and scam people out of their money.
The idea I had is that my character is one such prospective buyer who wants to have her own shop in Hogsmeade.
We could take this two ways from there. Either my character succumbs to the Poltergeist in his realm like the others, or she manages to defeat him like in the game, signs a contract with the poltergeist that allows him to roam free in the shop once or twice a month and gets the shop.
In the first version I'd imagine my character staying trapped within the poltergeist realm without finding the way out, slowly succumbing to madness and becoming his toy.
Whereas in the second version where she defeats him, I'd imagine a more longterm plot where she actually does build her shop and goes on additional quests through hogwarsts and the hamlets. However, the poltergeist wouldn't give up so easily and still be determined to break her even if it takes longer. Perhaps he has an ability to slip into the minds of other people close to her, or maybe the contract allows him to take temporary human form and his touches are like aphrodisiacs. Maybe he somehow can speak inside her head and drive her into madness that way. Plenty options!
For the Poltergeist's motives I was imagining that he could have been a powerful dark wizard in life who seeks to return to life through a dark arts ritual. But for that he needs to find a suitable canvas he can revive into and that's where my character might come into play.
Though I'd be happy with the poltergeist having other motives too. Maybe he just enjoys mayhem, or maybe he just loves breaking people into becoming sex addicted whores, possibly turning the new shop into a sort of secret brothel.
Regarding kinks so the big ones here would be the corruption, manipulation, brainwashing and mindbreak. But I'd be happy with a variety of other kinks as well, such as prostitution, violence, rape etc. though I'd imagine those being moreso setups by the Poltergeist to trick my character into unfortunate situations, rather than him doing those things himself.
I imagine him sort of playing nice while together with her, and only doing his trickery behind her back without mc realizing it's him who slowly gains control and power over every aspect of her life in the longer version, gradually driving her into madness, paranoia and addictions by manipulating friends, ruining her quests, corrupting her emotions and dignity etc
So their dynamic would be the main focus, and I can also see my character actually enjoying the poltergeists presence, especially if she already has an interest in the dark arts and he promises to give her more power.
Would anybody be interested in such a story? =)
And if not, I'd also be happy with a different HP story, the Wizarding world is very diverse with plenty options!
