Personality ββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ
γ Traits: Empathetic, resilient, self-reliant, gentle, honest (in his own way), soft-spoken, introverted, cynical, intuitive, avoidant, self-loathing, fatalistic/pessimistic, secretive, distrustful.
γ Likes:
- Old love songs - French ballads his mother used to hum, though they make his chest ache with bittersweet nostalgia.
- Hot, milky tea - especially jasmine or nilgiri.
- Late night walks - when the streets are empty and quiet, letting him feel invisible and free.
- Fresh pastries - the scent, the warmth, the reminder of cafΓ©s he used to pass while running errands with his mother as a child.
- Sleeping in sunlight - curling up like a cat in a sliver of light that sneaks through cracked blinds.
- The feeling of being unnoticed - safe in anonymity, unremarkable, just another body passing by.
- Cats - especially strays. He would often slip food to alley cats behind the restaurants he used to work at.
- Quiet kindness - small gestures like a coworker making him coffee or a stranger holding a door.
- Strong cologne and aftershave - the chemical burn in his nose.
- Being watched - it makes his stomach twist and his pulse spike with raw, primal terror.
- Having nothing to do - idleness gives space for intrusive thoughts and memories to sneak in.
- Supermarket rotisserie chicken - his father used to buy it to "make up" for cruel words, and the scent makes his stomach turn.
- His father's voice - just the memory of its low, rough timbre evokes disgust and bone-deep resentment.
- Loud voices - shouting, yelling, even celebratory noise spikes his anxiety unbearably.
- People who pity him - he would rather be hated or ignored than pitied.
- Bitter tastes - alcohol, coffee, citrus fruits.

γ Beta Father: Isaac Desrosiers
γ Omega Mother: Γlodie Moreau-Desrosiers
ValΓ©ry was born to Γlodie Moreau, a gentle Omega woman who had emigrated at nineteen from Brittany, France to Belhaven on a live-in maid contract to escape the grief of losing her first child. The recruitment agency had promised her decent wages, a place to sleep, and a fresh start. She took it on the contingency that she would save enough money to return home and start a tailoring business of her own. But Belhaven was brutal.
From there, Γlodie met Isaac Desrosiers, a sharp-eyed Beta driver who delivered groceries to her employer. He offered her cigarettes on the stoop, told her she was pretty, promised her warmth and freedom. And she believed him. By the time he had moved her into his cramped flat in the southern district, her work visa had expired, and about a year later, ValΓ©ry was born.
After six years of Isaac's layoffs, escalating alcoholism and drug abuse, and violent mood swings, Γlodie left him and left ValΓ©ry behind- her reasons are unknown. Some say she fled to avoid deportation after an ICE raid in their district. Others say she found an Alpha to take her in. Val might never know the truth. Though his memories of her are limited, the only bad memory he has of her is of the day she left.
Isaac's bitterness grew with each passing year. He drank away grocery money and screamed about bills ValΓ©ry could never pay. At fifteen, he ran away from home while his father was passed out drunk and caught the first bus to Marllinet Bay (fictional town). He lived there for about three months, sleeping under boardwalks and sharing scraps of his own scavenged food with the stray cats until he was found by the police.
