Hello everyone~ Looking to expand on BMR Game Nights @Nihilistic_Impact and I have decided to see if there is any interest in some D&D one-shots.

What you need to know:

  • These games will not be using 5e
  • Games will take on average about three hours
  • Due to the format Nihilistic will be using, character creation and such will be simplified
  • Games will be NON-SEXUAL
  • Discord will be required~ We will use BMR's discord for all games
  • Dates and times are TBA based on interest
For now, we are only looking to host these one-shots, however if we get enough interest Nihilistic has expressed interest in doing longer games!

So what do we need from you?

Post below if you are interested and what days and times would work best! I hope this will not be NA exclusive and would love to see some our members from other countries join in as well! So let us hear from you and tell us a little about your experience with D&D (even if you have none!) ♥

Well, my name is on it so I better be interested.

Also willing to take recommendations for adventures to look at and potential settings.

I will start too~

So I am mostly new to D&D. I did a campaign that didn't get crazy far set in the Star Wars universe and I am currently doing one of the starter campaigns with some friends. That said, I am still very new!

As far as days, a weekend would work best for me or maybe a Friday we don't have game nights!

I'm available whenever Bunny lets me out of the cage so I'm definitely in.

I am interested. The best times for me would likely be ~ US early afternoon which would be ~early evening for me (and other EU folks). This limits the days more or less to weekends.
I've played a bunch of 3rd ed DnD along with 3.5. I haven't touched 4e or 5e, so I would need to give the rules a read. I have dabbled with plethora of other systems, so that shouldn't be too hard.

I had a quick look over the rules offered here, although I'm not putting my hand up to show interest (my timezone would likely make my participation a logistical nightmare for most others) - these game rules, at a quick glance, read like a simplified hybrid of Basic D&D and 1st Edition Advanced D&D...so I wouldn't be too worried about you not having looked at recent versions/editions. :)

Old School Essentials is a very polished reformatted version of the old Basic/Expert line of Dungeons and Dragons.

It does include the option for Ascending Armor Class which we'll make use of. It does have the old Save System: Death/Poison, Wands, Paralysis/Petrify, Breath Attacks, Spells/Rods/Staves. Saves are done with a target DC determined by character level.

Stats are generated on 3d6, arrange to taste. Stat modifiers vary depending upon the stat and don't always apply a bonus. A Strength of 18 grants a +3 to hit things and grants a 5 in 6 chance to open stuck doors. But a 18 Intelligence allows you to pick 3 languages to know in addition to your native ones.

As for classes there are Cleric, Dwarf, Elf, Fighter, Halfling, Magic-User and Thief.

I am interested. Best times would be a Saturday/Sunday Evening EST. I could swing a different day other than Fridays.
As long as Mic isn't required that is. As for experience, I have done DnD 4e, 5 year campaign as a player almost weekly through college. Otherwise, I've done one-shots through 5e and 4e. DM'ed 5e and 4e for a few small attempts, mostly a couple week short campaigns or one-shots.
