So recently I've been thinking of doing something with a more transactional nature, at least to start off with, i.e. Character A needs something from Character B. B needs something from A in turn and so an unlikely alliance is formed so each can get what they want.
Maybe something along the lines of A is wholesome yet desperately single and facing pressure from parents to "find a nice man" - B may be a politician/ public figure who has been branded with a little bit of an image problem and his PA team advise him to at least pretend to settle down to restore his tarnished image.
Or perhaps A is a wealthy older man working in a very poor country, B's family want to repay his kindness and also want a better life for their (18+) daughter so offer her hand in arranged marriage.
What about character A being an insufferable (but still pretty) nerd and has trouble fitting in with her peers. B is one of the hottest properties in the school but is failing in his studies and has been told if he doesn't buck up his ideas he'll have to work flipping burgers for the rest of his life. A bargain is struck to up B's grades in return for making A more popular.
Or if none of these tickle your fancy, maybe A is looking to get pregnant. B's wife wants no such thing for herself but knows B is eager to be a father so offers his services, only to discover later that A cannot afford fertility treatments.
I really like the idea of both parties feeling ambivalent at best towards one another but with feelings creeping in and complicating things later on. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, let me know and we can plan something out.
