He sat on his haunches waiting for the moon to rise in the distance as the cold wind swept his fur. To those in the distance he would just be a massive black shadow amongst the trees, his dark pelt unkempt and tangled due to a lack of a pack. He could only do so much grooming on his own but due to his sheer size he'd never been much for taking the time to do it, it took too long. Almost three times the size of the other wolves in these forests and none would have him in their pack or as pack leader. He desired a mate however. Finding a mate while not part of a pack wasn't especially difficult for him just troublesome as he'd always had to fight males. His flesh beneath his fur was a tapestry of battle, scars and slowly healing wounds littering it like a vast canvas of pain.
Raising from his haunches he padded along the forest floor trying to be silent. It was almost impossible at his size, his large paws broke twigs and small sticks loudly, his fur pulled bushes and branches alike as he moved along. His muscular body like one long strand of sinews pulled him forward through the dense undergrowth as he began to stalk a pack as they headed north.
