Strong Writers Needed – RPs Rely Heavily on Plot

Hello and welcome.

I seem to have freed up some space for some more RPs recently. As my sig will also tell you, I really enjoy a good plot. Sex tends to bore me (gasp!) unless there's some strong character development behind two characters' sexual tension. I'm not interested in monotonous sex-based RPs. I have higher standards than that. I require from partners 3 things:

• Devotion to spelling and grammar– everybody makes mistakes, but it wouldn't hurt to re-read and edit your work.
• Thoughtful character development– I think it's important to have a believable character; human beings have ambitions as well as weaknesses.
• Respect for the setting– although tweaking of the rules of physics is sometimes acceptable, such as in sci-fi roleplays, no godmoding please.

  Fictional Ancient Empire
  
  Ruled by a ferocious warlord, the Ur clan swept from the mainland of the continent straight to the Eastern coat, laying waste to many divided kingdoms. The armies of Ur, trained in a myriad of martial skills and led by a fierce and devoted warrior, devoured many of the feeble rival territories. Ylle constructed great stone-walled cities in the wake of his expansion. However, one last clan to the south, threatened by Ylle's encroaching forces, published a great bounty upon his head. The summons was sent to every corner of the continent, a challenge issued to warriors widespread. The great Warrior's reputation for cunning demanded a very skilled mercenary. A suitable assassin was finally selected, a skilled assassin plucked from a notorious house of bandits. Should she return alive, she would be rewarded with a position of great power and wealth.
  
  
  Beyond
  Jettisoned into an Alternate Dimension
  
  A young student intern at a particle physics research facility stumbles upon some readings from one of the testing apparatus' within the facility. The readings are as normal except for what seems like a minute miscalculation. Concerned about the reputation of the facility, he re-adjusts for the small misstep and activates the machine. However, what seemed like a mistake was in truth the very topic in question being researched. Caught off-guard, the young man is pulled through a mysterious vortex and shot into an alternate dimension. Dazed and confused, he finds himself in a series of tunnels. After much trial and error, he emerges finally above an immense lake, a world occupied by living creatures of enormous variety and complexity, but nothing he had ever seen on earth.
  
  A native of this other world, on a search for food, begins exploring a different stretch of land than her standard strip of territory. Soon, she finds herself lost in a forest different from her own. Unable to find her way back, she perseveres until she comes across an immense lake– and a fascinating creature the likes of which she'd never seen before.
  
  
  The Escapee
  A 'Farm' in the Countryside
  
  On the run from the law, a young woman stumbles onto private propriety. Convinced that her only escape from the 'pigs' hunting her is to cross, she hops the fence and sprints into the field as fast as she can. Sure enough, she escapes pursuit, but is shortly thereafter discovered by the owner of the land. At gunpoint, he brings her to his home and promptly locks her in the cold cellar. He returns to the cellar after a couple of days, having essentially hung her up to dry. Come her interrogation, he proves much more concerned about his own privacy than her trespassing. As it turns out, she is not the only one under the scrutiny of law enforcement, and he is not interested in having his whereabouts revealed.

The RPs listed do not consist of the only RPs I will do. They're only ideas, concepts. I'm open to new ideas as well, of course, and I love to brainstorm given the opportunity. At the moment, I am not interested in MxM. I write upwards of 2 strong paragraphs per reply, usually mirroring my partners. I RP most frequently via threads, as I find them easier to keep track of. Note that I do not do the following:
- Adultery
- Incest
- Vampires
- Bestiality
- Canon/Fan-based
or anything to do with children.

I tend to play strong-minded, assertive characters, often with one or two intrinsic flaws. I highly value character development and I try to keep my own characters interesting, realistic, and unique. Conflict and tension is a large part of my enjoyment of an RP. I avoid making assumptions about characters or situations, and try to make my characters' personalities clash well with yours.
