Since the beginning of time, guardian angels had been assigned to humans at birth, meant to keep them safe through life unless the orders came from above to leave them be. Many angels grew attached to their charges, seeing them go through their lives, some of them clumsy, others graceful, some popular, others with quirks that make them less popular. These angels were only supposed to use their magic to help their charges from the sidelines, restricted from touching them. Once an angel touched a human, he or she could be seen and touched by that human. Even though it wasn't allowed, occasionally it happened, an angel reaching out to help their charge.
Tariel was one of the few guardian angels that had actually touched the human male she had been assigned to when he was younger. She often spent days with him, talking to him, occasionally joking with him. Of course, more than one person thought he was crazy on a regular day, especially when they were walking around outside, but it didn't matter. She was just there to keep him safe from outside influence. Tariel's hair was a nice fall of red waves that hung down to her thin waist, offsetting her pale skin. Her eyes never stayed any one color for too long, shifting between black, silver, blue, green, brown, and even other colors that had no name. Some days, her silver-white wings were spread out from her back, other days, they weren't visible, at least outside of her modest dress that she wore. When they weren't showing, there were silver tattoos on her back in the shape of her folded wings. Her dress covered her down to her toes, long and white that didn't show through in the light.
