Welcome to yet another request thread... I have written so many of these things and they never satisfy, so here it goes again...
❅ I am a real-life female in her forties, as much as it pains me to admit it. Old enough to know what I want out of the rest of my days, yet I still long for the unachievable... Immortality.
❅ I have been writing for well over the age of most members of this site, albeit in my adult life, and it has been mostly academic-related.
❅ I am open to both Forum Threads and Private Messages regarding the world we build within the walls of the interwebs.
❅ I am a busy mom of an angsty teen, (please, send help!), so my time for myself is rather limited.
❅ I am available for plotting, and casual conversation, although, it is not required... save for the plotting stuff, cos why else would one seek a partner? I understand that real life comes first and if I am taking care of the real world business and unable to respond back, then why should I deny that for someone else? Basically, I am ghost friendly, as I have been guilty of that myself in the past...
❅ I am a literate and well-advanced writer with aeons of experience under the proverbial belt and though I do not expect another to be astute in how to use the ever complained about preposition or comma, a decent grasp of how Words work is amiable.
❅ I write about 400+ depending on what the topic is about and I do use images and pretty things within the replies and whatnot to not only fill the void I lack verbally, but also because I enjoy adding a bit of "flare" to a post. Potential partners don't need to do so, as I know it can be rather daunting when trying to just get words on a page.
What Is It That I Seek?
❅ An individual who wishes to weave a fabulous tale.
❅ An individual who grasps the concept of storytelling.
❅ An individual who aims to aid the story moving forward.
❅ An individual who enjoys and embraces the art of Word Weaving.
❅ An individual who can express their wants, cravings, desires, or which path they wish the tale to turn.
I have seen and witnessed firsthand the amazing writers on this site and while I have had a few stories here, I wish for the one that could make the earth stand still. It's a long shot, I know since the majority of us here are only seeking something quick and in the moment to satiate the desires of that moment, but I crave something far deeper... I'll likely have to write that bit on my own, but it would be lovely to find one to craft that with...
I can be rather picky when it comes to writing the steamy bits and would prefer for there to be a teensy bit of chemistry with the characters.
I would prefer to keep things onsite rather than deviating to a different means of communication; i.e. email/discord/etc... If a friendship comes from the exchange, I do not mind extending communication outside of the site, but with past experience, it just gets... awkward.
More or less, something Holiday Inspired/Themed. I had an idea, several in fact, though, nothing has been set in stone. (I had posted this request a couple of weeks ago, but removed the thread due to my own displeasure in how it had been constructed.) Regardless of my folly, the idea goes a bit like this:
MC returns home for the holidays after a few years away, likely not returning since graduation of some kind. Her parents had been expecting her and had a huge surprise in wait for her arrival. They were retiring, but leaving her the family business. Said business is still open for discussion, but the premise still remains.
MC meets YC. Simple right?
Be it they had been childhood friends or high school enemies, they would find some sort of connection during that holiday season. Along with the inner struggle of learning that she is to take over the business, (does she want to take over? does she wish to continue the career she had been working towards the last few years? Decisions, decisions...)
Dryads... one of my favourite myths of all time, known as beautiful forest nymphs who would either live inside of a tree, or is a tree, or whichever mythos one follows, they deal with the forest and all things in nature. They were tricksters, luring young men to their doom, were one feeling a bit... sinister. But there had been some who had found love with the mere mortals they had shared the world with. Here is a bit of what I had come up with and if one is curious about the details, well, there's always the direct message approach.
It was always said that the forests of Lacan were enchanted. Some would even have gone so far as to say it was haunted. Rumours of beings that lived within the trees had circulated over the ages, gaining Lacan its mystical charm and had brought hunters from far off kingdoms to hunt within its boundaries. It was also known for the plentiful bounty of deer, rabbit and other woodland creatures that had made the forest their home that had attracted the hunters when the mystical beings could not be found.
Dryads, or wood nymphs, were of those mystical creatures that mortals, be them hunters, gatherers or simply those travelling through, would walk past without even knowing they'd done so. Wood nymphs were legends that were talked about and though some would swear they'd seen one of the creatures, they would have long disappeared when and if anyone decided to go back and look for them. Travellers would come to the kingdom of Calan for trade with tales of spying beautiful women frolicking within the trees as they passed, but when they would follow they would become lost, left only hearing what sounded like laughter coming from the trees themselves. And by all rights, the trees were laughing.
Alora Greytree, a wood nymph, spawned from a willow, was among one of the youngest of her kind. At the age of two hundred years that spring, she was one of the more curious. She didn't enjoy seeing her sisters leading travellers deeper into the forest to have them lose their way. On more than one occasion, she had helped the wayward traveller find their way again after one of her sisters had cruelly led them off track. Alora had been warned that her kind heart towards the mortals would cost her her life one day. They feared that her curiosity would cost her her heart to one of the mortals she felt the need to help.
Since I know that scrolling is something of an issue for some, I shall leave this as it is and add a bit more on the morrow, or whenever the urge to write more ideas down hits. There will be a Fandom hunt at some point, but for now, this is where I shall end this... Happy Christmas to those who celebrate it and Merry Holidays to everyone in general!
