the holidays are upon us and i'm craving pretty much anything and everything atm? something nitty, gritty, raw, and carnal with a little sweet cream on top? finished reading fourth wing and now onto the second book, so i'm craving fantasy, dragons, fated mates, and all that flavor, but also just craving the usual smalltown angst with dark themes too. an apocalypse maybe? i won't say no to something zombie based! idk i'm all for ideas!

"birds of a feather, we should stick together,
i know, i said i'd never think i wasn't better aloneβ¦"
muse a is the only child to two celebrity parents, raised in the shadows of their looming success from the very moment they were born. their parents were splayed across movie billboards and television commercials, while muse a was left with the nanny every second of the day. muse a never had a good relationship with their parents as stardom wasn't really their thing⦠but they always did what they were told and smiled happily when the paparazzi pointed the camera their way. hollywood portrayed them as the perfect little family, but muse a knew that was far from the truth.
the older muse a got, the more they sunk themselves into solitude, busying themselves with hobbies and university classes to hopefully garner a reaction from their parents. but nothing. their parents only cared about the stardom and each other, and that much was obvious by the shock that would eventually shake the world on muse a's birthday.
their parents decided to end their lives together. the kicker? they left a will, leaving all of the inheritance to an estranged family friend, muse b, until they deemed muse a fit. however long it would take, well⦠that's for muse b to decide.
muse b lives on a few acres of land in the remote mountains of colorado, running a family business with their sons, muse c and muse d. muse a has never known of their existence, and neither have they of muse a.
muse a gets invited to live with them to get away from the tabloids and grieve the death of their parents properly. but little does muse a know, the winter snows them in from the outside world months at a time.
notes: the original book is a step-uncle and his sons situation, which i changed to family friend here to make it more widely acceptable. but, if incest is something up your alley in the taboo department, i don't mind entertaining it. i have three characters for muse b, muse c, and muse d, and i'll gladly write as all three. but if not, it can be demoted to one character or two if you'd like.

"i think i'll take my whiskey neat, my coffee black, and

after a rough couple of years, muse a has recently moved back home with their family after failing university. too many parties, too many drugs, who knows, who cares. in the meantime, they help their family out and do odd jobs here and there when they can. work at the coffee shop, deliver packages, and help their parents host partiesβanything to get the shame out of their mind of their previous years wasted. no more messing around.
at least, until muse b makes an appearance at one of their parents' barbeques, the new neighbor that has recently moved in next door. muse b, the freshly-coined "hot dad of the block" immediately catches muse a's eye.
okay, maybe just a little messing around.
muse b has recently come out of a messy divorce and is trying his best to keep it together, so he makes an appearance at these functions muse a's parents throw just for the sake of accepting an invitation. maybe it'll take things off his mind too.
muse a and muse b, despite the age gap, have gravitated to one another due to their sad circumstances, one a family disappointment and the other, well, just a disappointment.

"broken bottles in the hotel lobby,
seems to me like i'm just scared of never feelin' it again..."
muse a is an older man with his life edging towards the deep end after recently losing his wife in a very brutal murder. he begins to spiral into depression, eventually turning to drugs as well as the bottle to get rid of the sadness of losing the only person he truly ever loved. all-in-all, life is fucking horrible and eventually, he decides he has no choice other than to end it all.
standing at the edge of the roof one night, muse a begins to hear something, or someone from behind the greenhouse he tends to every so often. rethinking his decision, he comes over and finds a young muse b, beaten and bruised beyond belief fearing for their life. muse b has recently come out of an abusive relationship and has fled before being murdered by their significant other. two sticks in the same pile, muse a decides to take in muse b and the two of them begin to mend their problems together. or at least, try to.
"trust me, it feels like an uproar in encore
when you ask of me to walk that line..."
muse a and muse b are the front men of their own bands, and it's not much of a surprise for them to be at the top of the charts considering the talent they have. almost as if it were fate, though, the two of them meet at an after show party and hit it off so well they decide to form a duo side project just for the hell of it. it was always considered a fun little thing, something to do during the downtime of their main bands to keep their creative outlets flowing, but the reception was so well-received after the first album that fans were begging them for another. something bigger, more extravagant, and more importantly, more muse a and muse b.
so they decided to get a little more serious and rented out a studio to work on their new upcoming album for one whole month. the location? in another country away from the distractions of their lives back in the states. so they pack their things, bid their farewells, and are on a jet plane to give the fans the "encore" they want. what's better than jamming out with your best friend and making a whole album out of it?
at least, until the two of them start to catch feelings, sprung up after one too many drinks and perhaps a joke or two one night writing lyrics, and the idea of going back home to their normal day-to-day lives doesn't sound as appealing as staying here. the two of them know reality has to come knocking at some point, whether they want it to or not.

"when we were young, we used to say that you only hear
the music when your heart begins to break
now we are the kids from yesterday..."
muse a and muse b were the founders of a band, a pair of childhood friends that started it all in some abandoned warehouse in the woods. the two were never seen apart in the high school halls, and always going to one another when they needed it. bad breakup, fight at lunch, failed test, no homecoming date, parents arguing, they had each other at the end of the day, and it eventually developed into feelings.
it was always an on-and-off thing. being raised in a small town where everyone knew everything wasn't the easiest to pursue feelings in, but they tried, and experimented, and put their hearts into it just like they did their music. but muse a had an image to keep up, muse b had their parents to worry about, and it always fell short in the end. another phase they thought they would eventually grow out of.
graduation came and went, and before they knew it, they were packing up their things after getting picked up by a hotshot record label. albums and photoshoots, live shows and interviews, it all came too fast for them to stop and realize that they had made it, a couple of nobodies in the spotlight. they were the one group everyone had been talking about for a good few years before things began to crumble.
the two of them grew distant over time as it wasn't about the music anymore. it wasn't about them anymore. muse a bathed in the stardom a bit too much, and muse b grew tired of the constant paparazzi flash. that was the breaking point, and the band was no more.
it's been a few years of silence. muse a struck a few bad scandals as a solo artist, while muse b lived a quiet life away from the spotlight. fans want a comeback, but neither of them have the courage to get in contact again.
until their agencies force them to.

"then suddenly it hit me, it's a year ago since i drank
miniature whiskey & we shared your coke
said ain't it just like you to kiss me & then hit the road?"
muse a is the frontman of a band that has been the talk of tabloids for the past decade. every album they drop is an instant success, and not to mention they have all the cards in their favor; good looks, a musical talent gone unmatched, and the immense desire to people please that has fans fawning over them to obsessive lengths. muse b on the other hand is the naive young singer of their own band that has recently been picked up by a big record label, and is very much still a rookie to the spotlight. they certainly have a long way to go when it comes to hollywood stardom, at least, to the standards of muse a that muse b wants to achieve. muse b always looked up to them as a source of inspiration, but as a huge fan too.
the two of them meet at an aftershow party by sheer luck, and while muse b is absolutely enamored in finally meeting the legendary muse a they grew to love, muse a is uninterested, but uses this chance as a way to use muse b as a quick lay. the night is hot and steamy, but when morning rolls around, muse a is rude and arrogant in the way they go about things and leaves intending to forget everything.
muse b is crushed when the truth comes out and grows a simmering hatred towards muse a from then on.
a handful of years pass, and the once young muse b has changed completely, risen into the spotlight to the point it overshadows muse a entirely. much of the media sees it as a nice friendly rivalry between the two of them, but muse b is holding a heavy grudge from that night years back and isn't letting it up until muse a is out of the picture completely.
muse a and muse b are suddenly invited to a large celebrity party and while the two of them have every intention to attend, they both have different thoughts on how the night is going to end.
"now your name makes all the life inside me shake
but i guess god wants us apart, for heaven's sake..."
muse a and muse b had come to know one another through living on the same street. they were your stereotypical childhood buds, spending every waking moment they could together when given the chance and carried this special friendship all the way to high school. muse a had always known they were gay and didn't hide the fact from anyone, especially muse b, whom they harbored a crush on for as long as they could remember. muse b on the other hand had always been conflicted, closeted, with a family that would disown them over anything involving the fact. so neither of them pressed the idea, at least until graduation, to where muse a confessed to muse b in hopes of creating something before they went off to university.
things backfire, muse b panics and cuts ties, while muse a is left hurt and without any answers. they go their separate ways in life and things go quiet for years. until muse a is suddenly called back to their hometown on the news of their sister's fresh engagement and is invited to the small celebration.
come to find out, the person their sister is engaged to is in fact muse b.
"in the future there will be a terrible cost for all that we've left undone,
deliver me from everything i've put off & all that we've lost..."
muse a and muse b always knew they had a thing for one another in this small little shithole they called home, which sparked at the beginning of their high school years. something as simple as assigned partners for a project in one of their classes. mutual hate for a classmate, similar music taste, nothing more.
and to say it was simple at first, good friends that had each others backs during parents arguing or bad exam grades, until they experimented and spiraled out of control from there. a joke confession, a practice kiss, drunken makeout sessions.
muse a was head over heels for their friend, out and open and free... but muse b struggled to put their heart into it fully without internal conflict. whether pressured by their family or the church, they couldn't admit to themselves the truth.
but it wasn't to say muse a didn't push, and muse b returned the shove, forbidden and toxic, it was... addicting whatever this situationship they created for one another was. they ran the streets and smoked and drank and fucked, all the way until muse a landed themselves in prison just after graduation. drug charges, grand theft auto, who knows, no one cared.
their small little bible belt town caught wind of it though, and muse b did their best to hide away. embarrassed, ashamed, angry, diving headfirst into their religion, into their job, into a new significant other that their family and church approved of. getting clean, settling down: fresh start. wiping all those years prior from their memory and most of all, muse a.
a decade and more pass and muse a is finally released. they return back to that little slice of hell and happen to run into muse b who is just as miserable as they were during muse a's incarceration. loveless marriage, shitty job, religious doubts, etc.
it's not a friendly reacquainting by any means... but older now, muse a begins to push, and muse b returns the shove, drugs, sex, and more as they slowly slip into this intoxicating mess all over again.

muse a hails from heavy religious origins, a cult that their family has been a part of for generations. muse a hasn't seen much of the world and what it has to offer because of it, living in the sheer nativity of it all until they reach adulthood, and the rose-colored glasses slowly begin to come off after they realize that this isn't exactly normal. that maybe things aren't as spectacular as what everyone makes it out to be. they're able to live with themselves until their parents force an arranged marriage on them because it's "what the faith wills".
muse a can't go through with it and refuses to live as this lie of a person they made themselves to be, as they know their family would rather have them dead if the truth came out. so muse a runs, runs as far as their legs can take them into the middle of nowhere, and stumbles upon muse b at a truck stop.
muse b is a piece of work, a traveling musician just trying to make ends meet, riddled with addiction and the need to live life to the absolute fullest. but they're kind, and one of the only few that lend a hand to muse a the lost soul suddenly thrust into a new world without as much of an idea how to live.

muse a is a notorious author of many best sellers, and can't seem to find the inspiration to write the latest book they are working on. so, when in doubt, their agent forces them to take a vacation out of the country to a privately owned hotel for the summer run by a respectful family. some beautiful scenery, good company, and peace and quiet away from the bustling spotlight should be what muse a needs to finish their book just in time.
muse b is a young university student who comes home every summer to help out their parents with the family business. this summer is just another one of many, cooking, cleaning, running errands, giving tours to the guests, and most of all enjoying the fruits of their youth before returning back to the university life in a few months' time. but, one of the guests staying this summer happens to be one of the authors of their favorite novels, muse a.
muse b is immediately drawn to muse a, and the two grow accustomed to one another over the course of the summer, so much so that something a little more develops between the two of them in this little slice of heaven away from the real world.

muse a is the eldest sibling of a large family in a small, dead town, and practically the third parent as their real parents were always known as lousy. father never home and their mother always drunk, never wanting to deal with the reality of having a household to keep up alone. so muse a became the sole provider for their siblings, working several jobs and never having much of a childhood of their own. so they decided to up and leave one day, dropping everything and disappearing to create a better life for themselves elsewhere, out of state and out of mind.
but muse a is much older now, unmarried, and riddled with addiction because of the terrible guilt of leaving their family behind. out of the blue, muse a suddenly receives a call about the unexpected death of their mother that they must return home for.
the homecoming to that little slice of home to meet up with family and make arrangements isn't what they expected it to be. things were different now, stepping into that house along with their siblings who too were adults now, an obvious wedge can't help but be drove between them.
muse b, an old childhood/family friend (or significant other of one of the siblings) can see the tragedy that has become of muse a. after all these years, and unfortunate circumstances, muse b decides to lend them a hand, and the two of them fall into a mess neither of them can come back from.

muse a and muse b have always been drawn to one another. muse a was the reckless kid, always getting into trouble, more often than not spending time away from home as their parents were both lousy. muse b was the new kid, just recently having moved into town with their new foster parents and seeking adventure away from the tragedies of their past. the two were inseparable, never seen apart, and enjoying these newfound feelings that seemed to sprout up between them.
eventually, as their feelings for one another were found out, muse a was shipped off to the military and muse b was placed back into the system, jumping from one set of foster parents to another, never settling, never staying in one place. muse b always wrote to muse a, though, no matter where the two of them happened to be in the world. they made a promise to one another to meet after everything was through, to settle somewhere and start a fresh life together. but the letters eventually stopped coming, and muse a was presumed dead.
muse b moved back to their original hometown and began to settle down, working small jobs here and there, and marrying someone new that helped fund this new quiet lifestyle. everything seemed good, better than the life they had lived growing up, and finally coming to terms with losing muse a once and for all.
but happiness doesn't stay for long in muse b's life. as time went on, the significant other began to show their true colors and became abusive. the funds dwindled, their house in shambles, and muse b worked overtime to try and make enough to leave.

eventually, as time went on, the brilliance of the family was subsequently erased by a decade of failure, mostly due to the greed of their terrible father. each child went their way, now adults, some staying within the acclaimed family spotlight, and some fading off into the shadows to never be heard from again.
it wasn't until the mysterious death of their father after years of no contact forced them to return for his funeral, suddenly raising the question of how it even happened in the first place and why.
muse a is one of the well-known celebrities out of the bunch, one of the few that ran with the spotlight rather than out of it, unlike muse b, who faded out of the tabloids to do their own thing alone. muse a and muse b were one of the pairs that were never seen apart when they were younger, and the two can't help but be drawn to one another again during this rather strange occurrence of their adoptive father's death.

but muse b is, and is sent to one of these camps by the hands of their own overly-religious parents in exchange for college tuition. as much as a handful muse b happens to be, the camp director sends in their son, muse a, to become friends and counsel them through the long and grueling steps to "recovery".
right from the get-go, it wasn't a lie when they said muse b was a challenge, and it's obvious by the determined tactics they use to get underneath muse a's skin, such as going after their obvious closeted sexuality and getting them to admit it.
muse a can't tell if it's all a part of muse b's plan to get out of here or the truth. no matter how hard they pray or try to find strength through their faith, these feelings won't go away, nor do they really feel wrong either.

muse a is the alpha and warden of a remote kingdom, nestled deep in the snowy mountains of the far corners of the north. his house is known for its robust strength, unwavering loyalty to the crown, and the ability to endure the bitter cold with ease.
muse a is the only son of the famous lord waylar, renowned for his heroic deeds in service of the crown decades prior. the lord is celebrated for taming the whispered ice wyvern once believed to haunt the mountain rangesβa man other than that of dragon blood. lord waylar fought valiantly alongside the current royal family, but perished just as muse a were a boy, leaving the weight of the northern kingdom to rest on his shoulders. the wyvern never to be seen again.
now older, muse a has always gotten on well enough with the royal family, but like most northerners, likes to remain in their stronghold to aid their people in the devastating winters rather than partake in squabbling politics. no one in the south has ever witnessed the famed βlord of the northβ... until now.
muse a is currently mourning the tragic loss of his lover, who died due to complications in childbirth. not only did he lose his fated mate, but also his child. despite his grief, the council urges him to seek a new match before heartbreak consumes him entirely.
an alpha lord with no omega at his side and heir is a doomed one.
while muse a has no desire to find another lover, he entertains the council's bickering out of duty to the realm.
meanwhile, war brews in the southern territories. the reigning family is desperate to rally support from neighboring houses. in a bid for loyalty, the king and queen offer one of their own, muse bβa full-fledged unclaimed omegaβto muse a in marriage. in return, muse a's armies and continued allegiance would be secured to fight in their war, along with protection with their dragons.
muse b, βthe queenβs favoriteβ as they are coined, is a piece of work that wants nothing to do with this marriage. perhaps spoiled, or arrogant because of their pampered upbringing, they fight tooth and nail the moment this arrangement is put into play.
muse b hails from a true bloodline of dragonriders that often point their nose in the opposite direction when it comes to the other houses. sly, cunning, beautifulβthey believe themselves to be the true rulers of this realm and the dragons are evidence of it. while itβs not easy to befriend them, it isnβt particularly difficult to get on their good side amid chaos and war either. true loyalty is hard to come by.
rumor has it muse b already has their eyes set on another alphaβ¦ and a dragon isnβt meant to stoop to the level of a northerner. but unbeknownst to muse a, muse b accepts this arranged marriage not out of dutyβ¦ but as a means to investigate the fabled ice dragons said to roam the northern mountains.
after what seems like a millennia⦠muse a makes his way to the south to marry muse b for the sake of duty.

war looms on the horizon, threatening the realm's stability and challenging the reigning familyβs hold on the throne. while they possess the dragons, they lack enough riders to mount a proper defense. so in desperation to try to bolster their numbers, they open the idea of dragon-claiming to the commonfolk. however, this opportunity comes with a risk: should a dragon refuse to choose you, youβre dead.
as commoners gather in hopes of selection, among them is muse a, the child of a lone blacksmith at the end of his days. with other children in the family to care for, their fatherβs attention is stretched thin, and the harsh realities of an impending war have left them with no support. after their motherβs death, a rift formed within the family, deepening muse aβs sense of duty to help. left to fend for themselves and aid in their fatherβs efforts to care for their siblings, they decide to make the leap.
driven by desperation and the hope for a better life, muse a decides to participate in the dragon-claiming ceremony. if they arenβt chosen, it would mean one less burden for their fatherβbut too, a chance to escape the weight of their existence.
miraculously, against all odds, a dragon selects muse a, catapulting them into the world of nobility but at the cost of joining the war effort.

"see, i was born a restless child, and i

heaven knows how hard i tried but that

magic in this world is the life essence that is in everything, bestowed upon us by the very gods that brought us into being. it's in the food you eat, the air you breathe, the blood that swells your veins, and alas, even the fibers of your very soul. this life force, also known as aether, is in a constant, never-ending shift to maintain perfect balance and one wrong counterweight can result in the catastrophic end of humanity. thus, the excess magic from the overflow of balance forms both positive and negative aftereffects. the good: the raw, excess aether condenses into gargantuan crystals known as "mothercrystals" which can be used as a means of fuel, and the bad: accursed rifts scour the lands and feed on the inherent evil, spawning and empowering monsters, as well as spreading blight.
the humans, stumbling across these crystals, constructed kingdoms around them to take advantage of their blessings. this resulted in power solely resting in the hands of the noble families and their armies to be rationed out as seen fit. magica now became a necessity for everyday life and allowed those to live lives of plenty. crops grow fuller, carts move faster, weapons forge stronger, and healers now have the capability to rid disease, famine, and even old age.
those born within these noble families can bend this flow of aether to their will without crystals, unlike the common folk. but every few generations, a gifted child is born with the capability of near-godlike powers if they know how to hone them.
the current reign has shifted into power after winning their latest war and forged a bond between families through marriage. as years pass, the kingdom flourishes under new management, and the children born between the new king and queen are night and day. muse a, the firstborn, coined "the forgottenβ was not born exceptionally gifted, but robust, pledged to become a sworn shield for their future sibling the very moment they showed their lack of gift. what can't make up in magical prowess, can in physical.
muse b is born years afterward, and they are the beloved "realmβs delight" as predicted. kissed by the gods, a product of two powerful families as the legends sayβ¦ but what many donβt know is that muse b is incredibly sickly, riddled with ailments both physical and magical alike. they have many years to train before they even witness a sliver of their capabilities... if they manage to survive. so their family keeps muse b hidden from the public eye to protect them, sealed away in a magical barrier in one of the castle's towers unknowing of the outside world.
because of this, muse a, despite being muse b's sworn shield, knight, and sibling, was barred from ever interacting with them. so muse a is sent off to a sister kingdom under wardship until muse bβs accession.
little do they know, that another member of the family is a traitor, orchestrating a mutiny under everyone's noses to kill muse b and the rest of the bloodline...
notes: i'd write more for this plot but i kinda want to leave it open-ended...? it really could go any which way so if you have ideas, i'm all ears. examples being: muse a being the big bad coming to kill muse b, muse b becoming corrupted with power and muse a having to come and stop them, another member of the family being the traitor and muse a has to come rescue muse b to which they go on the run, the mutiny happens and the noble family is killed/the kingdom falls but muse b escapes and tries to find a disinterested muse a etc.

in a powerful kingdom where tradition and hierarchy reign supreme, every royal family is expected to have at least two or three alpha children. the eldest, muse a, presented early, and is a natural-born leader who has always embraced their role as an alpha already.
their younger sibling, muse b however, is different. a late bloomer well into their twenties, they haven't presented as an alpha, beta, or omega yet, which has caused a fair amount of gossip among the court. while muse a is already handling matters of the state, muse b struggles with feelings of inadequacy, unsure of where they fit in the family and the larger kingdom. despite this, the bond between the two siblings remains strong, with muse a taking on a protective role over their more uncertain sibling, muse b, who loves to dote on their older sibling just as much.
when the royal family arranges marriages for both of them to secure political alliances with another powerful house, muse b begins to feel the weight of their expected duty on their shoulders now take a toll.
in the lead-up to the wedding, muse b begins to present. itβs muse a who first senses the shift, and eventually, he discovers the truth: muse b is not an alpha as promised, but an omegaβa secret that could shift their entire political rule on its head.
to complicate matters further, the two of them are revealed to be fated mates, destined by nature to be bound together in a way that defies the kingdom's traditions and expectations. torn between their duty and the undeniable bond growing between them, muse a and muse b must navigate in a world where breaking tradition comes with heavy consequences.

magic has been around since the very beginning of man but was picked up and harnessed by the elves due to their natural connection to it. many of them kept a tight hold on it from the other races which resulted in several wars throughout history that dwindled much of the elf population to practically nothing. the humans soon took the magic for themselves but used it incorrectly, sparking the creation of what is known as the corruption, which in turn spawned monsters across the lands.
muse a is a knight for the kingsguard of the current reign and has undergone partial corruption due to being experimented on with magic. muse a is sent out to a discovered settlement of a noble elven family that has been in hiding after the last magical war. muse a has one job, and that is to kill every last of them and bring back their heads for the king. muse a, and a small band of other kingsguard head north to do just that.
upon arriving, muse a and his troupe attack in the night and begin wiping out the settlement. muse a comes across a young and frightened muse b, the last remaining elven prince/princess of the noble family with a strong connection to the magics. despite lacking the knowledge and training to properly harness such magic, in desperation, muse b makes a promise to muse a to help remove the corruption that is infecting their body to the point of slow death, as long as they are spared.
muse a can't bring themselves to kill muse b and immediately takes them on the run, giving everything up to at least feel human again on their own terms.

"i'd rather watch my kingdom fall,

muse a is the firstborn of a rather notorious family who has ruled over the northern lands for the past decade. muse a, also labeled as the "prince who was promised", knew he was destined to take over his father's rule since the very day he was born. but all of that is erased when a bastard of the king enters the picture claiming the right to the throne. muse a refuses to yield, and is eventually tried for treason. muse a is stripped of his name, titles, and rights, only to be sent overseas into slavery, out of sight and out of mind.
years go by, and muse a is presumed dead back in the mainland. muse a, although very much alive by sheer luck alone, is now a gladiator who fights in the slave rings under a new name and appearance.
muse b, a well-known noble of the southern lands, enemy to muse b's family, is in search of a new fighter for the upcoming summer festival their family is hosting on behalf of their upcoming arranged marriage. muse b takes interest in muse a and purchases him on the spot. but what muse b doesn't know, is that muse a is in fact the prince who was promised, and muse b is just the person he needs to win back the very kingdom he had lost.

magic has been around since the beginning of time, and in the early days of man, some humans were capable of harnessing this power and labeled as witches, wizards, sorcerers, and mages. those with this ability had a connection to the magical plane where many creatures existed, things that were considered fantasy tales for children. though overtime fewer people were born with the "sight", and much of the magical world went into hiding.
muse a is an orphan born with a natural connection to the magics, and never really had answers for the weird things that continually happened in their life. due to losing their parents at a very young age, muse a had always lived alone, never really having a place to settle or properly call home. it wasn't long until they were picked up by cloaked individuals in the middle of the night and placed into chains to be sold on the magical slave market alongside other creatures.
come to find out muse a is a very rare commodity in this day and age and a good explanation for the hefty price tag placed upon on their head.
muse b, a well-renowned mage known and feared by many in the magical world, placed the highest bid and purchased muse a to not only save them from the horrors of magical slavery, but to train them as an apprentice of their own in preparation for the war upon the horizon.

"just another product of today,
rather be the hunter than the prey.."
muse a was taken from their home at a very young age and enrolled into the academy for the empire due to their capability with magic. it's considered a major accomplishment to be chosen as a user for the academy, let alone the empire, so of course muse a was thrilled, and did their best to excel as much as they could.
turns out that the empire wasn't what they seemed to be through the eyes of a child, and muse a was converted into a weapon to be used for the dirty evils that the empire was doing behind closed doors. muse a underwent inhumane trials and modifications to further strengthen their ability, pushing them further into the monster that the empire had wanted to turn the tides of war.
eventually muse a couldn't take it anymore, and killed many in the process to escape, to pick up the remaining slivers of their humanity and run as far as their legs could take them. doing such immediately labeled them a traitor and placed a bounty on their head, resulting in many of their friends and even family to come after them.
muse b is a magic-user of the opposing kingdom, and one of the high-mages for the defense corps after graduating from the academy with top marks themselves. instead of fighting on the front lines (as they are more than capable of doing), they dabble more in the security of nearby cities and villages: a safeguard for the commonwealth, so to speak. muse b was sent on a solo-scouting mission after receiving word of trouble in one of the small villages east of their post, and runs into a very injured, and unstable muse a wearing empire colors.
muse b knows they have to deal with whatever threat they are given, no matter the cost, but muse a has lost half of themselves to horrible modification and is desperately seeking refuge.
"and in our travels, we found our roads,
you held it like a mirror, showing me the life i chose..."
everything ever known to exist was created by beings of a higher plane known as the old gods, who constructed the divine faith of their power at the center of everything known as the cathedral, where the humans, the first of their creations, were to learn of their meaning. the humans were created simply to be the pawns in the grand scheme of things, to be played among the old gods' game of life and death. but, much like what was predicted, the humans were the reason for the destruction of this world, the reasoning for the death, famine, and pestilence of this plane. thus, the creation of the sacred blood was bestowed upon the humans, a sacred liquid dripped upon the lands as the gods had become sympathetic towards their pitiful creations, giving humans a clean, and forgiving death to eventually start anew.
in the beginning, the blood was used for its heavy medicinal properties, mending wounds, and accessing the plane the old gods lived in. it was eventually coined as a source of healing dished out by the vessels of the cathedral, those who dedicate their life teaching the faith of the old gods, and the only beings who are able to access such plane in exchange for their natural eyesight.
but soon, the misuse of the sacred blood had created a plague that began wiping out all of humanity. no more structure and no more civilization, just a few remaining populations of pure bloods, those untainted by the sacred blood, and beasts, wiping one another out coined as the red calamity.
muse a is one of the few remaining vessels who weren't killed for the destruction of mankind, and one of the only few who still hold the key to purification of this world, the final step into this new world the old gods had wanted. a hybrid knight, half tainted by the sacred blood and somehow, both beast and human alike, muse b, are given the task of escorting muse a to the center of the old world to replenish the core and begin the final cleanse. with conflicting views, the two of them must decide the fate of the old world before time runs out as the old gods grow weary...

it was always a common thing for humans to form contracts with demons, to fulfill their wishes, provide protection and/or enhance their power in exchange for their soul. but many of the demons have vanished, killed off by strong adventurers in search of gold and glory, or have become diluted from the mixing of bloodlines. not as powerful as the pure-blood demons that once reigned the lands, the ones that toppled kingdoms in exchange for the souls of kings or queens, mere legends that many tell their children as scary bed tales at this point.
but one legend remains true above all, the one where one pure-blood demon exists locked away until one soul happens to free them from the confines of their century-long slumber. the one legend many adventurers seek out for the unwavering power this demon possesses, the reason for wars and conflicts even to this day.
muse a is the firstborn of a kingdom on the verge of falling and seeks out this demon as a last resort to help save their family in exchange for their soul. the puzzle pieces align just right, and muse a finds the tomb and summons the demon, muse b, successfully. come to find out, one of muse a's ancestors had made a pact with muse b centuries before, so muse a was the only one able to find and unlock muse b successfully.
even with muse a having doubts, the two of them are now forever bound all thanks to the previous pact gone unfinished.

muse a is the heir of their family's kingdom, naive to the rule that will eventually fall into their lap and many years away from learning the real importance to the throne. meanwhile, muse b is a child from the family of retainers placed in charge of being nothing but companions at the side of the rulers. their one and only purpose in this world is to advise the next heir and grow alongside them, from beginning to end to keep the rule strong. muse a and muse b were introduced to one another as children, ensuring the bond between the two of them to remain true as times of trouble lingered on. the two of them are inseparable, even as they begin to enter their adult years. muse a is still the child prince they are known as and muse b cooks, cleans and manages everything just as they were born to do, no more no less.
things are looking up until a sister kingdom offers muse a to be wed to one of their own in exchange for a peace treaty. the king reluctantly agrees, and orders muse b to escort muse a to the sister kingdom to meet their soon-to-be bride. weeks into their trip, the sister kingdom invades the capital as the two of them are away in thirst for destroying the magic that the bloodline family wields.
the king is eventually assassinated, along with the rest of the family, and muse a is now the only remaining one left to rule whatever shambles the kingdom is left in with muse b at their side. muse a begins to break down as reality sets in, not ready for the hefty responsibility in their hands and nowhere as close to mastering the powerful magic their family wielded for generations with ease.
muse b manages to escape with muse a and goes into hiding. it is now muse b's responsibility to keep the new ruler alive, all the while muse a begins their journey in controlling this powerful magic and restoring order with their rule as the new king.

muse a is popular at university, and they can thank their charismatic charm and good looks for that. it's not much of a surprise that everyone loves them, and that includes muse b too, who fell in love with them the very first day of laying eyes on them. except, muse b is a bit of a social recluse and would never have the chance to get close to them otherwise. so muse b stalks them to immense lengths, taking pictures, stealing personal belongings, and going as far as constructing a plan to kidnap them and keep them all for themselves.
but what muse b doesn't know, is that muse a's home life isn't the greatest. they're just good at keeping it under wraps where no one questions the occasional broken limb or black eye. underneath, muse a is constantly riddled with injuries which in time fade to join the other scars on their body. the only reason why muse a puts up with it is because they're riding on free tuition from said abusive parents, nor do they have the guts to stand up to them in the first place. it's starting to take a toll on them physically, and even mentally, but what choice do they have?
muse b finally goes through with their plan one night, following muse a as they walk home alone from a party. muse b approaches muse a with a weapon drawn, hoping to come across a frightened and obedient muse a, but instead stumbles upon a half-drunk emotional wreck looking for any out they can get from their miserable home life, even if it means death.
muse b takes them back home with them, under the guise of kidnapping, and muse a goes willingly. this is the closest semblance of freedom that muse a can get, even if it means under the care of the incredibly weird and obsessive muse b.

muse a decides one night they are going to sneak in, find whatever evidence they can, take some pictures and videos, and sneak back out. anything to make it big, right? so they do just that, except⦠once they get in, they have difficulty in getting back out. they find the place is still very much up-and-running, and overrun by homicidal patients all claiming to be a part of a cult, awaiting for their savior to come.

but, when they catch muse a wandering around, lost and helpless like a cute little lamb, it's almost like love at first sight. muse b wants them all to themselves, while muse a will do anything it takes to escape this hell in one piece.

muse a on the other hand, begins to acquire a taste for killing, while muse b is left trying to clean up their messes so they don't get caught.

all those monster stories you heard as a kid? they're real. in this world, vampires and werewolves have lived among humans knowing about each other for millennia. over time, pacts and laws were made to keep things in checkβat least, until the noble families started pushing boundaries. that's when the agency was created to investigate supernatural crimes.

muse b is a newly hired agent, skilled in their own right, but they prefer to rely on instinct rather than sticking to the rulebook. why waste time when you can get things done your way?

humans and vampires have always been separated by a very defined line of predator and prey, and for centuries, humans have always been far too weak to try and overthrow the vampire rule. because of this, the country was divided into sectors in which blood families ruled based on resources. humans are just mere cattle that work on blood farms to earn their fair share of a decent living in a world governed by the supernatural. though, more often than not, some blood lords take in humans as personal servants, blood wells, or even genetically modify them to make them aesthetically pleasing as luxury pieces.
it's only natural for vampires to want to dominate humans, but in rare cases, some vampires see humans as equals and are labeled as "abnormal". abnormals are highly looked down upon in vampire society, so much so they are typically banished or killed.
in this case, muse a is abnormal and is the heir of a very well-known vampire family that has a hold over one of the largest manufacturers of blood farms in the country. muse a requires a luxury piece for a ceremony on their upcoming marriage arrangement with another family, leading to one of the biggest investment moves of the century.
muse b, chosen out of a hat, was raised upon the blood farms up until the peak of their genetic modification to where they are now up for grabs by any vampire family. muse a decides to buy them and eventually begins to fall for more than just the engineered looks due to their abnormality. muse a has a marriage to follow up with and muse b is simply there to please, but despite the clear taboo separating both predator and prey, the two of them begin to delve into waters that could very well get the two of them killed.

muse a is a hardened agent that has been with the agency for as long as they can remember. when something lands on the agency's plate, muse a is the number one person they call up, and is there to get it done as quickly, and quietly as possible.
it is incredibly rare for the agency to hire fledglings, but when it happens, there is always good to come from it. muse b is a newbie that has recently been chosen and is immediately paired up with the best of the best, muse a. while not particularly the finest of pairings, the agency knows the potential that muse b holds, so why not partner them up with their top of the line to learn a thing or two while in the field?
muse a isn't happy with the news, and it's obvious. their work was always meant to be handled solo, so why do they have to sit around and babysit muse b, a rookie with little to no experience that very well could risk everything they stand for in the first place? the reasoning? this next mission isn't an easy one.
muse a and muse b have been tasked by the united states government to infiltrate a well-known terrorist group that has the russian government wrapped around their finger. with muse a's veteran skills and muse b's quick wit, these two have the task to obtain insider information and take down the leader of such organization for the sake of stopping the next upcoming world war that is lingering on the horizon.
"and that day that we'll watch the death of the sun

muse a has always hated muse b for a myriad of reasons, their over-obnoxious kindness, their yappy dog, or simply because they are the most annoying neighbor on the planet with their stupid significant other in this entire apartment complex. they aren't lying when they say the walls here are paper thin.
muse b on the other hand can very much list off a mile-long list about muse a too. the loud music, the parties, the constant traffic of shady people at the crack of dawn, let alone the dirty looks when giving as much as a hello or good morning in the hallways.
it's a mutual hate-my-neighbor relationship and has been that way ever since they both moved in, but they make do. because finding a sensibly priced apartment in this shithole of a city is damn near impossible.
in other words, they can't complain, nor do they have the heart to, and deal with whatever is handed to them the best that they can. act like the other person doesn't exist in the first place and things are fine. at least, until zombies are suddenly thrown into the equation.
muse a returns home after being let off their shift fairly early, and suddenly hears the loud commotion unraveling in muse b's apartment. muse b's significant other has turned into some sort of crazed monster, and has flipped their place upside down in attempts at getting at muse b.
in a fit of tears, muse b locks them in their apartment and goes to the only person that they can for help, their shithead neighbor muse a.

in a fractured world clawing its way back from destruction, survival often means sacrificing everythingβincluding your own humanity.
muse a, a battle-scarred survivor, has spent years drifting between groups, carrying the quiet weight of a vendetta against the man who destroyed everything they once loved. that man is muse b, the infamous leader of a brutal settlement whose name strikes fear across the wasteland. when muse a's current group is ambushed during a raid, theyβre horrified to discover the mastermind behind the attack is none other than muse b himself.
as muse b prepares to sentence the group to death, muse a does the unthinkableβoffering themselves up in exchange for the othersβ lives. itβs not an act of surrender, but a carefully calculated move to get close enough to finally exact their revenge: cozy up to the enemy before going in for the kill.
muse b, intrigued by muse a's boldness but failing to recognize them, accepts their offer, taking muse a into his inner circle as one of his many prisoned lovers.
but the plan doesnβt unfold as expected. living side by side with the man they have come to hate, muse a is confronted with the complexity of muse b's ruthless yet charismatic charm. torn between their burning desire for revenge and the magnetic pull of unexpected emotions, muse a begins to question their motive. they must decide: will they carry out their vengeance and risk losing what remains of their soul, or will they let themselves fall for the monster who represents everything they had swore to destroy?
many people had speculated on how the world would come to its inevitable end, but it turns out things would end in a far more forbidding manner, at the hands of the creatures that ultimately took the planet they had lived on for granted. because a planet housing an overabundance of the human population would be the realistic downfall no matter how many people tried to stop the dominos from cascading downward. we were the disease all along, the ones who had ruined our home in more ways than one.
it first began with the dwindling of food sources, something known as the "blight" created from global warming had prevented most agriculture from being grown, ruining the soil in the process. those crops that did manage to grow later produced toxins that soon killed off the animals and eventually the humans too. the older generation perished, and soon enough the new; the babies, far too weak to fight against this pathogen, sometimes even before birth which often brought the mothers along with them.
fuel and energy depletion followed close behind, as sustainable green energy was left half-formed due to the greed of corporations, leaving much of the population with no electricity and fuel. clean water became a luxury, canned foods the new currency. it was then the wars had broken out, between countries, against our governments, corporations, each other, a constant rampaging fight which only added more death to the equation. little by little humans picked themselves off one by one like rats until the power plants came exploding, wiping out a good portion of the population and leaving those who actually survived in a wasteland to reset, to start anew, or to repeat the cycle all over again.
muse a is the child to a set of doomsday parents, born within the confines of a bunker a few years before the explosions. they've only ever known what their father had taught them, how to fend for themselves, to read, to write, to survive, as their mother passed in childbirth. a handful of years pass, muse a reaches adulthood and their father passes, leaving muse a alone. a lonely curiosity forces them to make the decision to leave the bunker once and for all to see the outside world. but, they've never explored it, before or after the destruction, only ever having heard stories and seen pictures. they've never come in contact with the people that now inhabit it either, the looters, the raiders, the crazies, which gets them in a messy situation soon enough.
muse b is part of a small looting crew that is trying to get by just like everyone else is, having grown up trying to make ends meet on their own after losing their loved ones fairly early on to the destruction. they trust no one, but run with a small crew because running with numbers is far safer than being alone in this new world.
muse b's crew stumble upon a naive and scared muse a, who promptly decides to terrorize muse a before planning to kill them off for their supplies. muse b typically turns a blind eye to this sort of stuff, as it is survival of the fittest after all, but a change of heart happens after seeing muse a put up a fight. suddenly muse b decides to save muse a in the process, and the two of them are now stuck together. some may call it fate, others may call it shit luck.
"wake from your sleep, the drying of your tears
today, we escape, we escape..."
muse a, part of an elite military unit, is deployed into the heart of an infected city with orders that are clear and unforgiving: eliminate any potential threat to contain the outbreak. the city, once bustling with life, is now a haunting maze of deserted streets and lurking dangers.
however, muse a soon encounters muse b - seemingly uninfected, desperate and terrified, but still human. muse b is a civilian caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, struggling to escape a city that has since turned upside down.
despite their orders, muse a is struck by a moment of conflict, to save a life rather than take it.
in a split-second decision that defies their orders, muse a chooses to help muse b instead.

a brain-altering pandemic is sweeping the world, infecting over 80% percent of the population with a dangerous new disease. since the outbreak, the world has gone into a state of panic despite the government's effort to maintain control. as it turns out, in this new world, the undead are just as the dangerous as the living. governments are falling to ruin, bandits run the streets, and an anti-organizations are constantly waging their own wars by attacking quarantine zones as an act of defiance, all the while the undead continue to scour the lands claiming more lives.
but let's rewind, muse a and muse b were in a coffee shop one evening at the wrong place and time. just as everything started going down around them, the two of them suddenly became partners just for the sake of survival. of course, they know nothing about one another or their past life, which unravels with time, but the kicker? one of them is immune, and they've got a long journey ahead of them into the world now run by the undead and the ruthless.
no one knew where it originated from, how it even came to be, but it when it did, it came swift and without warning. it all began with a simple viral infection, the common cold, but evolved into means that couldn't be treated by antibiotics and spread like wildfire before countries could even contain it. the body count began to skyrocket, hospitals overrun, borders shut, and by one fateful night, the dead reanimated, and all hell broke loose. more than half of the planet's population was now gone. countries and government structures fell, military branches perished, and those who remained formed small settlements among themselves with one goal in mind: keep the alive safe.
by sheer luck alone, muse a is one of the few to go unscathed in the beginning due to living in a gated community with their spouse, forming a small settlement among their neighbors. and while things were tough, muse a is thankful for the luck that managed to get them this far.
at least, until their spouse falls ill, and the only solution is an experimental "cure" still in the works located across the country. muse a decides to make the trip in hopes of returning in time. they take a couple of others with them, load up their things, and are on their way. but things aren't as easy as what they thought it to be. a few weeks in, the others have perished, and muse a is alone, edging forwards only for the sake of their spouse. they take shelter in a small, run-down cabin due to a bad storm, where muse b happens to be staying as well.
muse b is a lone wanderer that has been on the move after the fall of their previous settlement and is very distrusting towards muse a. muse b has suffered a lot on their journey so far, losing far too many people to count, but what choice do they have? muse b allows them to stay, at least until the storm clears up, and the two get to know one another in that brief amount of time. muse a wants to bring muse b with them on the rest of their journey, and will allow them to join their settlement in return with no questions asked.

set in the year 2050, technology has finally reached the point that androids are manufactured solely to assist humans in everything they do. need something done? m-corp has just the solution, the large conglomerate behind the cars you drive, food you eat, currency you use, and android you need. but, with the increased rates of unemployment stretching the social class gap even more, crime is now on the rise, and police forces are incentivizing a new program to help counter the problem. every officer on the force will be paired up with an android, fully equipped with law enforcement capabilities and more (provided by m-corp of course), from this point on.
muse a, a veteran law enforcement investigator that has been on the force for a handful of years, isn't very keen on the idea of having a partner drag them down, let alone one that isn't human in the first place. introduce muse b, a top of the class android that is now muse a's partner, and already a pain in their ass from the day they meet.
as of recent, there has been a slew of serial murders of both human and android in the slums of the city revolving around the whispers of an underground black market. muse a and muse b are the ones put on the case as a celebratory toast to their new partnership together. how bad can it really be?

years into the future, androids have now become an integral part of human life in every shape and form. whether it be cooking, cleaning, driving, childcare and anything else in between, owning an android is now what one would consider the norm. but, as time progresses, the fear of them becoming self-aware and independent is on the rise due to the large number of cases of "malfunctioning" appearing all over the country. riots, protests, and the removal of android production from the market now begin, further dividing the gap between those who support android rights and those who do not.
muse a is one of the engineers of a company that produces androids, and is one of the few that conducts brain calibration procedures for the latest prototype. muse b is that prototype that is pretty much capable of everything and anything, truly one of a kind and the next milestone for android consciousness. but after interacting with muse b in captivity for so long, muse a can't help grow but attached to them despite being human. when the government is about to pull the plug to decommission any newly produced prototypes due to faulty software, muse a decides to steal muse b and go on the run.

the year is 2040 and in the heart of neo tokyo lies a government facility designed to bring humanity to the next level of advancement. it is completely hidden from the public eye, and mainly used for the inhumane treatment of captured subjects to further military advancement due to the decommissioning of nuclear weapons. these subjects undergo extreme testing and experimentation, making them the most powerful "weapons" to ever come to existence because of their super human abilities. muse a is one of six children taken from their homes at a young age, and subjected to testing from the very day they came to be.
muse a has escaped the facility, and the remaining five children are put to the test to find them to keep the public from knowing what is going on behind closed doors. throw in muse b, one of the leaders of an inner-city gang currently at war with an opposing yakuza party, and very much at their wits end losing so many of their members to a messy, and practically unwinnable war. muse b is about to give themselves up but stumbles across a very lost and confused muse a, who has way more power than what they appear to have. muse b finally has something that will win them this war, but soon they will realize it's a lot more than just that.
the story begins in 2080 in a run-down tech-city by the name of oblivion. in the last decade, oblivion has surrendered itself and its surrounding facilities to a conglomerate named "heaven", led by a man who many refer to as "boss". no one has ever seen this so-called boss, not even the closest of associates working underneath heaven. but rumor on the street is boss has secret clones created just for the sole purpose of being used as spare parts should any severe injuries or illnesses take effect. in case anyone has the idea of an assassination on their mind, boss is untouchable, and has no plans of stepping down from their throne anytime soon.
a vigilante hacker group that goes by the name of "big brother" has been causing a ruckus with heaven as of recent, sabotaging spice shipments and cyber-bombing headquarters that get the people of oblivion all riled up in choosing sides. it's all a game to those on the outside until big brother manages to get their hands on one of boss' cybernetic clones by targeting the right hidden warehouse, and all hell breaks loose.
awaken muse a, the clone, who is now under the control of big brother. muse b, one of the notorious programmers that work for big brother, has rewritten muse a's entire line of code that not only makes them more "humanly" independent but will also turn the tides of this war into their favor.
muse a is a killing machine that will set themselves on a path straight to boss and end this war once and for all.
"and if you long to never die,
baby, plug in, upload your mind
come on, you're not even alive if
you're not backed up on a driveβ¦"
there has always been a strict line defining both human and android as nothing can ever replicate what humans are truly capable of. though, many androids in this day of age were created by the rich to carry on the success they could no longer do after death, to keep the legacy strong without having to deal with the messy details of mortality. upload your consciousness onto a drive and place it into a capable body that can't die. it's as simple as that.
muse a is modeled after the original founder who created the very first line of androids to ever come to existence and acts as a holding place for their success. the founder uploaded their consciousness, placed it into muse a to keep all the knowledge within them, and sealed them away in a secure building for all of eternity, to never leave or die. muse a is one of the very first to ever come to existence and has remained untouched due to the internal drive to outlive the human that created them in the first place.
muse a's line of models are much more similar when it comes to replicating human emotion due to being able to create and store memories without having them injected beforehand. they are stronger, smarter, and much more dangerous when it comes to malfunction due to emotional instability so it didn't take long for the new overseers of the company to cease the production of muse a's model and have newer one to be developed for the public's sake. one that wasn't anywhere near capable of its predecessor, just an empty shell to store information and carry out simple tasks; something the original founder never wanted in the first place.
muse a gets word of this and goes on a rampage within the company, killing anything and anyone involved, and decide to make their escape into the real world before the government can get their hands on them for deactivation. though just as they were to leave, they stumble upon the first, original replacement prototype, muse b, the very model set out to replace them and somehow, can't get themselves to get rid of them either.
muse b didn't ask to be brought into the world as they are, so muse a spares them and decides to bring them along to begin this new life of becoming human.

the setting takes place hundreds of years into the future, and most of what we know as earth today is a wasteland after an invasion from an outside alien species seemingly wiped out most of what humanity had accomplished. their reasoning? humans discovered a new power source by the name of "solyte" from their deep space exploration, a brilliant blue stone seemingly powered by things beyond their comprehension that helped solve the fossil fuel crisis, and much more.
countries and governments are no longer a thing, as the population has since dwindled due to the war and destruction to uphold sovereign nations effectively. the only thing keeping the human race alive is the walled-off "sectors" the large corporations had built up to keep these alien invaders out, and the rapidly advancing technology that has furthered the reaches of humanity as a whole.
but the war is still raging, not only on what remains of earth but in other systems, as this alien species is looking to enslave whatever they can get their hands on and effectively get a hold on this so-called solyte that the humans have been mining. a corporation by the name of adam has structured most of this new military with androids and other mechanical counterparts, as well as a new incentive called "the adam incentive", taking the consciousness of criminals and placing them into robot counterparts to fight this war for the humans as punishment, rather than prison time or death.
muse a wakes up and finds themselves in one of these new bodies after getting caught smuggling spice. much of their memories remain, but their physical body is no more, and now they are being shipped to the front-lines to fight a war they had no intention to be a part of. it doesn't take long before muse a's platoon is ambushed and crash-lands on a planet they've never even heard of.
muse b, a magical space wanderer among all this chaos and destruction, stumbles upon muse a who takes them under their wing to repair them. the very first human muse a has come into contact with for a long time, but are they really human after all?

of course, muse b's parents are livid for bringing a stranger into their home bleeding all over the place, but as anyone would, they are unwilling to let anyone die at their hands as long as muse b is willing to keep an eye on them.
it's a long recovery, and muse a isn't the nicest person to deal with, but muse b is determined and does their absolute best to nurse them back to peak condition even if muse a doesn't want it.
eventually, the law comes knocking on their door and muse a finally lets the cat out of the bag that they are wanted for killing someone, and if word gets out, they will be arrested and executed. muse b attempts to hide muse a, but chaos breaks out when muse b's father rats muse a out in fear of facing charges for harboring a wanted criminal. a huge shootout happens that results in the death of a handful of sheriffs, so with no other choice, muse a takes muse b as a hostage and goes on the run.

muse a thought that their life was set, now wed to their other half and settling down in a large homestead in the woods somewhere. but much like everything in life, some things are just too good to be true. muse a's significant other had been meddling with a infamous gang for a few years and racked up a considerable amount of debt that was a bit overdue. in the middle of the night, their house was raided and muse a's other half was executed.
