I'm Scott, but I answer to pretty much anything. I'm a guy in my late twenties. I live in the UK, however I work night shifts and am also a bit of an insomniac, so I am generally up at all hours. I've been roleplaying for 15+ years, have experience in a variety of genres, but my bread and butter is always historical (in case this request thread wasn't hint of that enough). I'll try to make this as concise, easy on the eyes, and aesthetically pleasing as possible, but I am prone to getting a carried away, so if you'd like a tl;dr on this thread: If you are interested, please PM me - or feel free to just add me on Discord @wings2377. \\ ROLEPLAY PREFERENCES // I only write in and with 3rd Person POV. I'm happy with past or present tense, though have a preference for the former. So long as our post tenses match, however, I don't care a huge amount! I tend to prefer shorter, more frequent replies, than longer replies that take weeks to come, as I find this helps me stay engaged a little better, and I find it easier to reply myself around work. In a writing partner, I don't care if you're male, female, or anywhere inside or outside of this spectrum. I strongly prefer to write with people who are 21+. I love people who get as invested in characters and their stories as I do – let's build a world together! I'm also needy-writer friendly. Message me any time. Nudges and reminders do not bother me, and I like chatting outside of roleplay. Going to be around for a few hours and want to do some rapidfire roleplay? Ping me a message and if I'm about, I'm usually down for it! As a lot of my roleplay cravings have political or war-heavy themes, this is just a quick disclaimer to say that I will not bring up politics OOC unless you do. I'm quite opinionated, but unless you're a full blown fascist and regularly making hateful comments (I've no interest in interacting with IRL Nazis...), I don't really care what your own political beliefs are, and I'm not going to go prying or debating. SPECIFICS Activity level ...//...Moderate. I try to respond once a day, and will let you know if there will be extended delays. Ideally, I would like someone who matches this. Length ...//...I usually write anywhere from 250-700 words on a regular basis, but this can be less or more depending on the particular post (i.e. action vs dialogue vs establishing a scene). Again, ideally I'd like to write with someone who is similar, but I will always value quality over quantity – I would rather you give me 200 words with plenty to move the plot forward with, than 2000 words of internal monologue that I can't respond to. Language ...//...I'm a native English speaker, halbflüssiges Deutsch. Location ...//...Happy to write on forums or through PMs, or on Discord. I enjoy forums for the formatting options, but I can be a bit anxious when posting things in public and where I'm able to see my writing partner's activity and vice versa, so it's very much swings and roundabouts. Sexual Content ...//...I'm happy writing smut, but I'm also very happy to fade to black on sex scenes if you prefer, and I don't believe every single bit of hanky-panky between characters has to be explicitly written out. Story and character development is my priority, but a little spice is nice, you know? 
\\ CHARACTER PREFERENCES // Relationships...//...MxM as a primary. Happy to write anything from cutesy romance to absolutely toxic, fucked up pairings. Usually somewhere in the middle is my go-to however; I like my romance angsty, spicy, and ride-or-die. Age ...//...I prefer all characters to be 21+ for the bulk of the story. 18-21 is fine for backstories, setting up a roleplay etc, but the main storyline should take place with characters in their twenties. I am happy writing characters of all ages above this, and I do love an age gap in a relationship! Gender and Orientation ...//...I generally only play male main characters, but any variety of side character. These generally are cis men-loving-men (whether gay or bi). They pretty much all start out versatile, and I prefer to write against characters that are versatile as well. I'm not keen on writing with strict bottoms, especially submissive ones. Not interested in porn or yaoi tropes like twinks, femboys, futa, uke/seme etc. Species ...//...Human or human-like only, e.g. vampire. 
\\ PLOTS // 
WELTSCHMERZ Spy x TargetYour character is a high ranking political official or military commander, with one known Achille's heel - he's sweet on other men. Perhaps this is something that has previously been used to smear him in his career and he's 'risen above it', or otherwise it's a well guarded secret that has only just been discovered through intelligence conducted on him. My character is given the task of tailing YC, either to take him down by exposing him, or to get close to him in order to gain important tactical information. Regardless, it all starts going to pieces when they end up developing complicated feelings for each other. Would suit interwar, WWII, or cold war eras, but preference is for WWII SS or Soviet official. Also open to MC being the target instead. 
SOMEBODY THAT I USED TO KNOW Enemies <-> LoversCharacters A & B are political opposites - and yet despite their differences and perhaps a rocky start, they find a kinship in each other and eventual romance. Something causes them to separate on a bad note - an argument they cannot reconcile, the outbreak of war, having to move away, one being arrested - and it is several years when they reunite. Their reunion is fraught, full of animosity, and they yet again find themselves as enemies, but that old flame never truly went away, and now it's rekindling with a burning passion. Can they make it work this time around? Originally I had envisioned this plot being set in 1930s Germany, with a communist x national-socialist flavour, and this is still my preference. Open to other interpretations, however. The characters can starts as friends (or lovers), then drift apart as they become polarised ideologically, or start off not knowing that the other is 'on the other team' initially, or just straight away be opponents who eventually find common ground. When they reunite it could be with one as the other's prisoner, or combined with the plot above, one be tasked with spying on the other. 
BABYLON BERLIN Police x Prostitute/CriminalBased a little off of the TV series (and novels) of the same name. Set in Berlin, during the Weimar Republic. Character A is having to sell sex to keep a roof over his head (and/or dabbling in other crime). If life on the streets wasn't dangerous enough already, there has recently been an uptick in the number of violent crimes against a demographic he is part of (whether this is (male) prostitutes, queer men, or an ethnic minority/different nationality). When someone close to him is the next victim, Character A is the one to call it in. Character B is one of the police that shows up to investigate and interview him. The two of them become unlikely friends, with Character A becoming an unwitting informant for the police. Eventually, feelings develop - something neither of them had planned on, or are particularly thrilled about happening. Character B has to juggle his work and political views with his love for A, and A has to constantly battle the risks of being a police informant in his circle, as well as the risk of being the next target in the series of crimes. On top of this, the country is about to be thrown into political turmoil, with the Great Depression and a new war looming... Open to playing either role. Bonus points: the crimes are being committed by the Sturmabteilung, which Character B is a member of - getting to know Character A makes him question his political beliefs, and eventually have to consider which he values more: his comrades or his lover. 
NEW DOG, OLD TRICKS Spy x Spy/Handler Character A is an experienced spy - he's been there, done that, and got the battle scars to prove it. He's used to making difficult decisions, and losing allies in the name of the cause. Quite how he's survived this long is anyone's guess.Character B is fresh to the espionage game, and while his heart is in the right place, his head sometimes isn't. Where A is used to being the voice of reason, calculated, taking his time and picking his battles wisely, B is more inclined to rush head-first into things, gun blazing. Maybe it's just a personality and work-style clash, or maybe their political views differ as well. Either way, A is running out of options, and if everything he's been working towards in this war is to make a lick of difference, the two of them are going to have to strike an alliance and learn to work together. B has a steep learning curve ahead of him, but A will be damned if he won't whip him into shape - after all, he has no other choice. Again, as usual, preference is for a WWI/WWII setting - maybe Cold War based in Europe - or fictional settings of our own based on that time period. Open to playing either character in this scenario. 
FOR YOU, I'D RISK IT ALL The rising political power couple Character A is a high ranking official, or military leader. He has never had much interest in politics, beyond it being a means to gain himself rank, favour, and resources - his strength lies in his career experience, family wealth, and general intelligence and charisma.Character B is the opposite: a natural-born orator, full of big ideas for the world and how to improve it, but as of yet lacking the money, knowledge, and political backing to do anything with those big dreams. B has a hankering for staging a coup - and A would gladly burn the world to ashes for him. Together? They're the power couple that nobody expects to actually be a couple. Possibly AU WWI/WWII with a war backdrop. Otherwise, just a country - fictional or otherwise - set in that sort of time period. (If going down the AU WWII route, less interested in 'the Nazis won' kind of premise.) B could be a force for good, or absolutely batshit/turn into a dictator and warmonger. Maybe A even turns on him eventually, when he realises just what he's enabled? 
\\ WORD BANK & VAGUE IDEAS // ✠ Character A is wounded in the war. B is in charge of his rehab, or a fellow patient determined to raise his spirits in recovery.
✠ A is a detective working on a series of crimes that, so far, have been unsolvable. Character B has occult knowledge that helps put the pieces together. ✠ Character A is a high ranking prisoner of war. B is his handler/interrogator, who finds out his assumptions about his captive were all wrong. ✠ Character A is a (unhappily) married man. Whether his wife knows or not, the entire affair is a coverup for his sexuality. Character B is the male lover he has on the side, who is slowly become his obsession in life. ✠ A is immortal (+/- a deity?) and has always had one rule: don't get attached. Character B is, unfortunately, the exception.
