INTRODUCTION:
I only recently started watching The Walking Dead, and as I got to know the characters, Beth Greene quickly stood out to me. Her character had so much potential, but her storyline felt unfinished and unsatisfying, especially with her tragic end at Grady Memorial. I've always thought she deserved a better arc—one where she's given a chance to survive, grow, and truly find her place in the world.
PREMISE:
In this alternate timeline, Connor—a seasoned survivor with a talent for staying off the radar—happens to be in the right place at the right time when he notices a supply run being made by a few officers from Grady Memorial Hospital. During the run, Beth Greene, one of the captives, is taken along to assist. From a distance, Connor watches the officers and sees the way they treat Beth—not just as a prisoner, but as a tool to be used for their own gain.
When he realizes they're headed into a more dangerous area, with little protection, Connor decides to intervene. Seeing an opportunity to free Beth from Grady's cruel grip, he ambushes the officers at just the right moment, incapacitating them long enough to help Beth escape. It's a risky move, and Connor knows it's only a matter of time before Grady's forces catch up, but he can't stand by and watch any longer.
Now, with the Grady officers hot on their trail, Connor and Beth are forced to rely on each other to survive. Beth, shaken but determined, finds herself in a world of uncertainty as she's thrust into the wilds of Georgia once again—this time not as a captive, but as a survivor fighting for her freedom. Meanwhile, Connor, who is used to surviving alone, finds himself trying to protect and guide Beth, even though he's not sure he's cut out for the role.
The pair must navigate the walker-infested streets, avoid the Grady forces, and find safety—while learning to trust each other in a world that's become more dangerous by the day. The bond between them begins to form not just out of necessity, but through shared moments of vulnerability and mutual respect as they fight to survive in a brutal new world.
MY OC:
Connor Hayes is a 19-year-old survivor from Liverpool, UK, who grew up in a rough environment, balancing between working as a mechanic, studying, and reluctantly aiding his father's criminal activities. After the outbreak, he quickly adapted to the new world using his street smarts and mechanical skills to survive. Forced to leave his family behind after a deadly conflict, Connor now lives alone in Atlanta, scavenging and staying out of sight, relying on his wits, grit, and resourcefulness to get by in a dangerous, unpredictable world. His past continues to haunt him, but he remains determined to survive, despite the emotional toll.
