Issue Watched Thread Notification Issue (maybe?)

Two threads that I watch have recently been "bumped" and yet I did not get the notification? I have them set to Watched, with no email notification.

The last successful thread notification I received was November 7th from Semiprivate Roleplay forum.

The two bumps that I did not receive notifications for occurred in the On-Site Roleplay Requests by Females on the 12th and 14th of November.

I have around 1.5 pages of threads Watched but only a few are often bumped, but this made me check all the others because i was worried I'd missed stuff.

Has anyone else noticed or seen this issue before?

I also went ahead and watched this thread just to see what happens.
 
It may depend on how the watched thread is bumped...?

I've noticed that some folk out there bump their threads by first deleting the post that contained the previous bump before adding the new bump, so that might be a contributing factor.

Just a guess, but I could also be completely wrong. :)
 
You may be right, your post popped up in my notifications, so it's not a site wide issue I'm guessing. Weird that it does it though!
 
so, don't you see the notification in your "alert list" either? because sometimes if i have multiple tabs open and one of those is the thread i am watching it doesn't notify me that i have gotten a notification, but i can see the new post if i open my alert list.
 
I'm fairly certain I was asleep or entirely offline when they were bumped.

And they don't show up at all in the drop down menu even now after the fact.
 
hmm, that is a bit weird indeed. i've never experienced anything like that. not that i can remember at least. so hmm, i don't have a good answer, unfortunately!
 
I had similar problem eaerlier with couple of my threads, but at the time I assumed that it was because it was updated very often. Sometimes I would miss notifications for the new response.
 
Never appear in the first place, that's the interesting part, as I could easily accept missing the "red alert" and accidently marking them as read, but they just never show up.
 
I believe there’s a built-in function that it won’t alert you until you read the thread again.

For example, if you clear the notification without going to the thread, you won’t be alerted of further replies until you visit the thread again.

I’ll test it out when I get some time.
 
I was reading the thread.

  1. I received a notification.
  2. Visited the thread and read it.
  3. Replied after some time. Closed.
  4. Received a reply, but did not receive a notification.
That did not happen often though, but I want to say every 10-ish posts?

Mine worked, I’m almost sure it’s because it won’t show alerts/posts after the original if you didn’t go to the thread.

Also check your alert settings, if it’s set to mark all alerts as read when you click the icon that’ll count and you won’t get notifications for posts on threads you didn’t click on.
